I'm Finally Burning Out From Lethal Company...

- Ironman format is nice to just talk over. If there's a long-term future in Lethal Company for me it's going to be more in a podcast supplemented by gameplay format, i.e. a more polished version of this video, but I'm exploring other options now and will likely pivot soon.
Some directions I'm looking at gaming-wise:
- Witchfire
- Level Zero: Extraction (Summer Release)
- Soulframe (End of 2024 Release?)
- Pokemon (Nuzlockes)
- Oldschool Runescape (Actually getting the quest cape)
- Chess (a game I can play for life)
- Project Zomboid (Since Brian's playing and uploading it too)
I'm also considering food, anime, and books, some non-gaming content, but I will likely move away from daily uploads if I go in that direction. Books/reading I can likely maintain a daily upload schedule, anime I could if I do reaction videos at the risk of receiving copyright strikes, food I don't think I could do daily until I change my living situation.
We'll see what I land on, let me know if there's anything in particular you would watch other than Lethal Company. Lethal Company's been fun but I think I've gotten the most I can out of the game for the amount of effort I'm willing to put into it. - Hry

This game is definently not about solo playing for 300h so it's ok to be burnt. I play this game only in a big company so I don't get burnt.
Commenting before finishing, but I really hope you're able to continue making content! I understand that it's difficult to pivot, especially to games that aren't trending (and especially to the extent lethal company trended). Personally, I would be interested in seeing you play more strategy-related games or commentary of strategies for various games, since it fits your commentary style well. A little opposite to lethal company, but I also wonder if you'd be interested in playing cozy-type games like Stardew Valley, or experiment with those types of games. A lot of people find your commentary informative and relaxing, so I wonder if that would mesh well together.
I also really enjoy your content with Shirt and Nico, as well as the others! Hope you're able to feel satisfied with your future content pivot, and I'll do my best to continue supporting you regardless! :]
Stardew Valley was actually on my docket for potential pivots! I played quite a bit of it when it first came out and only stopped because I got a new PC and lost all my progress in the process.
I liked the idea of Stardew Valley because it’s a satisfying game without being a stressful game, which I think is a difficult balance to actually pull off. Also the fishing is rad and I’m a fan of its combat, of all things.
It’s competition for me is Oldschool Runescape which I think I could do well in in the longest of terms, but I’m also not sure how long I’ll be sticking with gaming in general. So Stardew would be the better play in the short term while I figure myself out. Which is kinda the whole premise of Stardew Valley to begin with lol, so thanks for reminding me of that option!

@sheffaustin I agree with Chalk! I love Stardew Valley (those are the types of videos I watch in between yours). It could be a fun, relaxing, and safe pivot for you. I really enjoy your content and the mindset you bring to games. Would love to see you continue making content! And I wish you the best in finding your direction. Transition periods can be difficult 💖 But don't stress because of us! We support you in whatever you choose to do.

Tbf, the fact you have played so much solo is impressive. I've dabbled in solo Lethal, and even though I'm the type that typically will be running about largely on my own whilst in a group it just doesn't compare to have the solo experience. A very different game that personally I don't find that appealling, I enjoy tf out of Lethal but playing with Less than 3 diminishes that greatly fsr.
You being burnt out is not really that surprising, Like a little while ago both you and Larry kinda were saying you were a lil bit burnt out but didn't pivot that much for that long.
The game's still chugging along and still surprisingly popular but generally its cooling down a bit and seems like views are more reliant on a comedic side of the game which lends itself well to mods, especially since in terms of modded enemies none have really captured the base game enemies in terms of being deadly but constrained so modded ones tend to just be OP-therefore-scary thus kinda funny.
Can't really say what types of games might be a reasonable pivot, though I do kinda enjoy watching Sketchy's contract although given its similarities to Lethal not the most useful to recover from burnout. I feel like your commentary is quite a good appeal to your videos, so how many games can complement that as well as Lethal seems to idk.
I always come back for you, my guy. I always enjoy listening to you ramble, talk about stuff, and get into the games you're playing, regardless if it's Lethal or not. Heck, I haven't even touched Lethal in months! So if you need to take a breather, go for it! Getting a full burnout on a game you enjoy isn't a fun feeling, that's for sure.

Content Warning is another co-op horror game, but it is still being developed. There is supposed to be a new subnautica game sometime in the next few years which might have co-op but is still a ways away. Lethal company is such a special game, it is hard to find ones similar to its genre unfortunately.

While I’ll miss the lethal company content, there’s nothing stopping me from just watching your older videos. Don’t be afraid to branch out! You should be your own number one priority. (Oh, and I’ll watch whatever game you want to play next, but I’d definitely be interested in some Pokémon content!)

Taking a break is ok! Lethal company can get repetitive so it's totally valid that you're feeling this way. I enjoy the yapping and podcast formatted videos with or without gameplay, it's just nice to hear you chat in the background. Keep it up and make content that makes you happy :)

Games are meant to be fun. Not a chore. And that’s ok! If you start branching out we’re all going to be here for it. I’d advise playing somewhat similar games and occasionally posting things that are completely different. Or bell don’t make videos at all for a while if you don’t feel like it. That helps I think.

Regardless of what you end up doing in the future, I just wanted to thank you for the vids, and say that I'll likely continue watching regardless! This might sound weird for a channel that has almost exclusively uploaded horror game content lately, but your videos have actually been pretty helpful for falling asleep; a little background noise to focus on helps keep my brain from being to active at night, and your chill commentary and gameplay have been great for that.
There’s plenty of other available games we would gladly still watch you play, I find you enjoyable to watch regardless

I get what you mean, I used to stream lethal company all the time, but the only friend that I could play with was only available every other weekend, and considering I only played lethal company, I got bored kinda quickly, tho Ive been wanting to see if I can get more people to play cuz I know my friend has other friends that play sometimes.
But I think most people by now are here watching for your commentary/ you & your friends' commentary

I've got plenty of games that I've played off and on even despite mostly playing single-player titles/modes, it is a very mood-dependent thing for me
You should check out Abiotic Factor, it’s a multiplayer co-op survival horror game where you basically play as the scientists from Half-Life. I’ve had a fun time with it and it’d be cool to see the gang try to survive together 😊

With the amount of challenges you like to do, and the amount of game knowledge tasks that are available in the game, you would probably enjoy Noita. I stopped playing lethal company a decent bit ago, but have continued to watch these videos, there's likely a decent bit of the community around here in the same boat, one of the biggest draws to the channel is the commentary. If you were looking for something to both enjoy and also use to boost the channel, the Elden Ring DLC is right around the corner. If you're new to elden ring, could create an entire string of videos right there alone. For a more social experience, you mentioned it a bit, but opening up to the community through a dedicated space, decent chance to find people interested in doing content longterm. Still watching the video as I write this, may edit along the way if new points are brought up in the video.

try some older games it always helps me kind of refresh i like to play left for dead 2 or terraria i could also definitely see you doing well in solo content like the pokemon nuzlocke or maybe even something like hollow knight or portal if your into those kinda games aside from games i'd love to see some cooking things I've always wanted to know what your cooking looks like and of course if you need to take a break we can wait. love the content keep it up
Admittedly I haven't watched LC videos in a while because I burnt out on them, then it slipped my mind. The worst thing is that CZcams itself shoves the content out of the feed and then it's so easy to forget its existence. I haven't finished watching yet, but throwing some ideas into the ring:
- "100 Days of" series, let's you dip your toes into a game with no need to finish them. Love those videos for survival-crafting games.
- Steam dumpster diving/"So I have been playing" format, medley of games that on their own might not deserve the spotlight. I like Iron Pineapple's and Thorhighheel's videos like that.
- Graveyard Keeper, super fun game I got hooked on recently. The dark humor is pretty great. Love unlocking the expansive skill tree.
- Neon White, also super fun to run and has a whacky story with anime aesthetics. Would be cool to see your first attempts vs. mastering it.
- Dark Souls/Elden Ring/Demon Souls, I like the lore and a story-focused playthrough would be cool. But also love seeing people break the game or doing specific builds. Joke builds are also fun. Would be really fun to watch a Co-op playthrough of, too.
- You mention Warframe in the video, I dropped out a long time ago with that game, but would definitely be interested in Soulframe!
- Speedruns/breaking games in general and finding weird ways to play them or challenges. I watch somebody who focuses on Tomb Raider content, and he has played the game with a dancepad, blindfolded and other crazy things before, but that's out of love for the game he keeps replaying. I don't expect you to go that way LOL! He also does a lot of other content to not burn out.
- Old games, childhood nostalgia, retro aesthetics - I'm sure those that like LC also have a soft spot for retro. Perhaps try some old favorites and revisit them!
- I've never played Runescape but I would watch videos about it, if it gives a little bit of framing as to what is going on.
- Long format and podcast-like narration, personally I like to put on videos as I work on something else or before sleep to wind down.
- Keep being authentic. :)
I think most of my suggestions aren't fit for a daily video format, but perhaps it's best to move away from that. I think daily uploads are definitely something to feel spoiled about, most people I watch put out WAY less!

I would watch you play a different game, and I would wait for you if you needed a break. But if you are going to switch games, maybe try TF2 (it's the silliest game I've ever played, it only has two downsides: 1) bots 2) devs gave up)
