Pedro Friedeberg IS, not WAS, an artist. He's 83 years old and still working... one of the best surrealists in history.
I'm sorry to hear about his passing. RIP
Look at Rick tryna find excuses for the expert to lowball the guy sayin “look at the damages” 😂😂🤣
Lol not tday
If you were in Rick's position, wouldn't you do the same??? The name of the game is to buy low, sell high.
Mission failed Rick.
I was in the car business and did it every time. I'd walk around a trade in before appraisal with the customer and would just touch scratches or dents or dings. Never say anything, just touch them. That was devaluing the car in the mind of the seller. It's very effective if done right.
@William burd I am sorry, but in my personal opinion, having a markup of almost 50% for me is not a fair deal.
Valued 20k , offers 8k
Thats how pawn mafia works
" valued at " and actual selling price are two different things. Maybe the best offer he gets is 15k and that offer doesn't come for a year.
He offered 11k for an ugly deteriorating piece.
He started low with 8k as that's what any logical person would do when negotiating for the best deal possible.
Plus, there's literally slim to no market for that. If Rick bought that then it would take 13 years for the next gypsy to walk in and take interest in it.
I hope you never get into the pawn business, for your own sake.
You people run-your-mouths blasting Rick....but I don't see you contacting the show and buying the items.
They have to sell it, you understand that ?
When you realise only rick laughs at his own jokes.
4:02
The editors add those sounds in, if you're as addicted to these pawn stars clips as much as I am, you start to notice that it's the same laugh sound every single time
He always laughs at his own jokes .
He can be quite funny. He’s also a multi millionaire. You people are just losers opining on CZcams (add Rick’s laughter here).
You must be new to the show.
@@vimes1003 I was wondering how he laughs the same every time
Worth 20k I'll give you 8k lmfao
Jose Garcia it’s actually a skill to say something so dumb with such an incredible straight face
Jose Garcia absolutely
Gotta make money off of it
I'm taking all the risk
@@C0mm0nS3ns3 he's offering 40% of its value. If he got all these rare items for those margins he would be a billionaire by now.
Rick will sell this around 19-20k. good thing the customer did not get scammed.
Yeah, something worried rick, maybe he’s to rich, did not agree with the value, hated the piece, if it’s worth 20000, 12000 is a steal.
Probably for even more now that’s it’s actually been on the show
There's something I need to how much can I get for a real tiger skin blazer??? real skin for real.
....anybody knows?????
@@BObSmith0911 uh no ppl ain't paying more just because it was on the show
allah bless ok bud
Expert values at 20 grand, guy asks $18K, Rick offers 8K wtf
Talk about low balling customers!
Ricardo Becker ikr. 13k was a fair offer
Well to be fair is not like there are tons of people out the. Willing to buy this for 20k, Rick has his network and he knows how to sell them. If the guy could have sold it for 18k or less
on his own he would have. Rick provides a service and the man has to make a living even tho it’s a expensive one
11k was fair it could sit on a shelf for the next 10 years and not sell it
He's taking all the risk tho. Lmao
In the business world, you have to try to make as much money as possible
Brett always gives the most seller friendly appraisals and almost never lowballs the estimate. I don't think Rick likes him for that reason lol.
Art estimates are usually crazy tho
"Making 8 thousand dollars makes no business sense to me"
Yup paying 12k for something worth 20k makes zero business sense 🤷🏻♂️
A buisness is supposed to make money
People pay 1000 for phones that cost less than 100 to make and does that make sense
And with a high end art auction its ussaly atleast 20 percent commission so rick will get like 16 thousand fron selling it at the most but probably 13 or 14 thousand
So 11 thousand makes sense
Mohamed Hussein difference is Phones are massed produced, this will sell to a Niche audience. 11k was Rick just being greedy glad this guy kept it
I'm gonna go buy something from Rick if he says 80k I will offer him 20k lol
"I have to pay bills, I have to make money, I had to get that framed."
He's running a business
no one can make rick harrison laugh more than rick harrison
He has his heart set on selling it... 😂😂😂😂
I comment this every time, but still, this is the only expert on the show I trust.
Unfair to the Rebecca community!
Expert..." its worth 20 grand"
Rick... " ill give you a bag of cheetos and a coke"😂😂😂
Brett is their coolest expert aside from Rebecca
Can’t take Ricks laugh (smoker wheezing noise) anymore lmao
"I dont think the condition will effect the value"
5 seconds later
"I think the value factoring in the condition is 20k....'
"there's no money in it for me then" bro you would have made 5k. I can't wait to see a customer look at him one day and say "stop lowballing me" I would watch that over and over and over hahaahahah
Rick.: What do you want for it
Seller: hahaha
That’s legit the Mexican baby Jesus’s head that we (Mexicans) use to lift on Jesus birthday lol
Yes 👍🏻
Hahaha for reals
I like how they have to always throw in that pre-recorded Rick laugh into the video...
Why would he say he wants 18 - 20 grand? Obviously 20 is out of the picture if you say it like that
Yeah, nobody in their right mind would give you 20k if you'll take 18k, but he offered 8k so who cares.
If I would have found that, I would have thrown it in the dumpster. Amazing how that is worth $20,000
Looks expensive, and the artists name is on it. One google search and you would realize you have something special
pawn shops offer lower prices to sellers than antique/collectable shops because their own selling prices are often cheaper too, everything has to be "cheaper" than market price in pawn shop, regardless of selling or buying
Dude's a Bond villain
Customer wanted $18-20k for an item that might bring $20k...minus the 25% auction fee LOL.
@@jasonmichael3676 What auction fee? Rick will sell it himself. It might bring $20k and the guy asked for $18k then went all the way to $12k. Rick offered $8k😱
Isn’t the auction fee paid by the buyer!
I think he broke the head off n had a extra baby Jesus head n glued it on lol
As soon as he said 8k I would’ve laughed at him
Chum: wait...did you want me to get the drugs now!? 🤣🤣
I’m just waiting for him to offer chumlee as a payment
Good to see someone walking away after being low balled.
It's a PAWN SHOP . They never give what the item is originally worth.
@@primecentauri8263 you're right, he was asking for 7G less than what an appraiser said it was worth.. he was being fair at 12. I don't normally ju.p one the boys for lowballing but this time they def were..
@@Jakers95 yeah from a business point of view they were right to low ball. Not everyone is looking for a "Friedeberg".
14k would have been a fair price. Rick prolly would have got 1k of that within the year.
@@primecentauri8263 I see what you are saying, but all I am saying is they could have gave him a better deal on this one. And to be fair. Is is a very famous artist. So probably has alot of collectors.
You offered the man 8k when its worth 20k? Thats just insulting.
Rick sure knocked the smile off the guys face.
Uniqueness is absolute. Something cannot be the "most unique". It's either unique or it isn't.
I like Brett’s take on art!
Brett needs his own show!
One must not forget the framing costs.
Wow. Big Head started out at 40 cents on the dollar. Smart guy for not selling it.
Good for you take that Rick
Comments always crack me up via pawnstars. Any high dollar item anyone sells is sold through Sotheby's,ebay etc. Sotheby's charges up to 25% of final sale, fees etc. 25% of 20k is 5k.Ebay & paypal fees combined charge up to 16%.The more an item sells for the more taken out and then the time to sell it.And besides an item such as this, would any ya'll mofos pay 20k for it or even 5? Thought not.
how many times 'the expert' values the object at exactly what the seller wanted for it.
its almost as if rick tells them before🤣
there's no way I would say what I want for it before they get an 'independent' valuation
In another episode Rick claimed he wont take advantage of the customer. Worth 10 gave 6k. But in this one he starts by offer less than half what its worth.
2:08 Anabelle Doll! who wants to buy that?
YOU people should buy it. Contact the show and buy it instead of whining about Rick.
Honestly it's a wonder that people don't think of this... Just pawn whatever you have instead and never come back for it, i mean, what are they gonna do? By pawning it, you get the cash with the usual talk of "I give you the cash you need and you pay me that back, plus interest and commission". But if you just never return, you win then, especially if you're just looking to get rid of it anyway.
when you show us a piece of art done by someone. maybe put a picture of the artist somewhere in the video,so we can see what the artist looks like.thanks.
I saw this title and immediately thought 200 bucks
I LOVE that he walked away over $1000. More people need to be like him when negotiating with Rick. This is one of my all time favorites and I’m a long time PS fan.
The people who aren't on their last 2 bucks can do that.
This kids so inconsiderate of risks lol. 11 so fair. Things you should consider in this business.
1. How thin is the market for this things.
2. The quality of the object
3. Period of time for it to be sold.
4. Displaying this object would consume a spot.
This are the things you should consider when giving a price.
That's why you have to be really careful when you clean out your attic.
The attic is full of mystery
Art means more to a collector than money
Whatever floats your boat,,,
This doesn’t float mine!!!!!
I don't understand how making $5,000 is not making any money. $15k was more than fair, especially for a piece with a poker theme in Las Vegas.
"Hey I just walked in with this strange, one of a kind, piece of art and wow! Would you look at that. There's a table conveniently staged to fit my piece perfect in the middle of your small pawn shop. I'll set it there. So we can talk again abo... Wait! I mean, no! We've never talked before. ."
Rick gave his "I don't want to buy it" price. It's an original piece of fine art, though, and art people are very quirky. I think he missed his chance by not offering $12,000. They were very close to making a deal.
It's so weird that Rick often makes jokes and laugh alone
You can tell Rick didnt really want it, even with his normal ripoff tactics he would have taken the 12 k deal. He went lower knowing that the guy would say no.
Exactly he thought if I’m going to buy garbage it’s gonna be for cheap
We can meet half way. 15000 is not half way from 18000. 9000 is. And you were offered 11000 which is more than half way. Big numbers can be tricky here.
12K would still have made Rick the best part of 6-7 grand better off.
All these people complaining about Rick offering $8k--do you have _any_ idea what it costs to frame something like this????
Finally someone that knows YOU don't have to sell. Unlike the other Chooches.
when you are trying to start the car 0:20
There's nothing better then a guy who laughs at his owe jokes.
8K is an insult to the 12 armed, cards holding, porcelain doll statue community
Yo GG to the owner of the statue. I got scared he was gonna accept it
He was never going to buy it, its an interesting piece, bring it in and be on the TELEVISION show.
His laugh means your going to get low balled
They would have to pay me to even take it.
14k would have been a fair price, enough meat on the bone for rick, even including auction fees and whatnot
Can’t wait to see what the You Tube algorithm has in store for me after this video
For rick, with the very expensive items, "money to made" for him is always $4000 if you watch these videos. if he cant make that he doesn't do it.
11 was a fair offer I thought!
3:17 Hmm, I'm not familiar with "Sothbees". I HAVE heard of Sotheby's. How does an expert appraiser NOT know how to pronounce the name of a well-established popular auction house?
He was 100% right to walk away
I'd think twice about paying 11 bucks for that thing!
Artist's name: Pedro
Correct Pronunciation: "Ped ro"
Americans: "Paid row"
Glad he kept it go sell it for 18-20 now!
Yes good luck with that!
Who else hates it when someone asks for a price range, rather than a price? Young guys and women do this a lot on the show. ""I would like 18 - 20 thousand instead of starting at 20 thousand"
03:30
Seller: $18,000
Pawn: $8,000
Seller: _"We can meet half way."_ *$15,000*
Seller -$3,000 > Pawn +$7,000
*NOT HALF WAY*
The price he was trying to get for that "thing" is exactly why I do not get the whole art scene!
watch?v=0RoLUxB3T44
Same here. To me the worst case of “The emperor wears no clothes” is Basquiat. Take a look at his “artwork” that sold for 48 million
Sometimes no deal is the honest deal
It’s so in demand and so rare , I got a great idea. Let’s take it to a pawn shop and ask for auction prices .
Ricks face after saying damages are gonna affect the value of it being worth alot and expert tells him damage doesnt effect the value lmao Rick trying to get the guys art piece for super cheap
I like it when i come to videos like this and see a bunch of, business owners and pawn shop owners hahahaha lol
What annabelle what are you doing there hahaha
People who failed to play rick in the audition ; working as experts ...😁
I'll give you three Lemonheads in a pixie stick
20k I’ll give ya 8k lmao 😂 wtheck!!
I think these guys from pawn stars get mad everytime the expert gives a high evaluation. 😂😂
"I had my heart on selling it."
You had your chance and you blew it.
This guy sounds a lot like Ricks sword expert
I love the look on peoples faces when they think they’re about to get paid what the expert said it’s worth lmao
If it's a quick sell , you will get top dollar for your item.
Sure you can ask for 20k but anyone out there in the comments really pay that? I'm with Rick on this one. It's too weird to sell and probably have a hard time moving it.
Expert: 20k
Seller: 18k
Rick: 8k
Kudus to you my man don’t let that cueball lowball you that low
Rick has the right connections, why the low offer. Maybe he already knew what the guy paid for it
He wants $18,000 to $20,000 thousand dollars 💰
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
IS he HILLASUNATING
I like how everyone didn't even freaking notice the annabelle doll on the left
Is it weird he didnt even mention the signature or at least look at it,, jus assumed it was real 🤦♂️🤣
it's a TV show. It was probably edited out.
