He‘s like a guy who‘s always there for a good chat at the pub but you‘d never want to mess with him! :D It‘s such a shame he never got his own episode :( Hopefully one day all 96 scripts will be leaked, maybe one of them has an episode for him.
He also had a episode which was going to be in season 2 or around after bigg freeze where Hercules would have to tow a dredger all the way to Greenland for a secert government mission. The seas would have been rough and he would have to pound through ice and 45 foot waves! As well as rescuing a whaling ship grounded on a iceberg.
It’s so rare to see Hercules, but when he does appear it’s like being given a treat. Also Hercules totally is a tough suave guy that he sounds cool calling people dear and all that.
My favourite Tugs character without a doubt. Has anyone noticed that he speaks in two different styles? It's either slow and almost not bothered (Pirate, Munitions) or with more feeling and energy (Ghosts, Bigg Freeze). It's clearly the same voice actor but speaking in two different styles. I wonder if this was a conscious decision or whether the makers were seeing which one they liked best? Equally it could be deliberate in regards to the scenes. I.e the almost uninterested, lethargic style could be that he's genuinely tired after hard work (towing in Krakatoa etc) whereas the more lively and upbeat style was the start of a working day (going out to get SS Vienna etc). Whatever the truth, Hercules is brilliant. 👍🏻 Edit: a few things I forgot to mention the first time round. - I love how Hercules cuts other characters off and speaks over them. 😂 - The encouraging two note whistle blast he gives the rest of his team is a nice touch. "Pull hard everybody!" - "There she is! That's very like the lovely Lillie herself." line and semi chuckle always makes me chuckle too, such a flirtatious ladies man. 😂

Looking back on it, I always felt Hercules needed a sort of Nemesis figure on the Z-Stacks side. Someone who wasn't intimidated by him unlike Zorran. Additional: 4:56 He looks really annoyed with the others here.
For those of you who don't know this, I swear you won't look at the scene "High Winds" the same again. Ten Cents and Hercules were originally going to be brothers. Notice how Hercules has a mildly tense "what's happening back there?" reaction when they were struggling with the Princess Alice. The second Ten Cents calls out "I can't hold her much longer!", Hercules sends out a triple blast of his hooter and DEMANDS for everyone to pull hard. This is the only time in the 13 episode run where Hercules genuinely sounds freaked out: when Ten Cents, his LITTLE BROTHER according to old scripts, was in imminent danger. If something did happen to Ten Cents, it could potentially tear Hercules apart. Makes you wonder how he reacted after he found out Ten Cents almost died during the Munitions incident.

Considering he has the fewest amount of time of any Starr Tug. Hercules manages to make every scene a gem.

His actor probably did that for munitions to show Hercules being tired from towing in Krakatoa.
