To Jordan’s credit, I spoke to a person from a country in the middle east who was not a sports fan whatsoever. They did not know who LeBron or Kobe was but knew Jordan. I will say It’s harder for LeBron to be as mythical as Jordan because during his peak was an era when everything he did was on display for criticism in the media. Even your average joe in life can disguise themselves as an analyst or within the media just with simply tweeting. Jordan never had that level of burden. Jordan’s flaws, even if covered, did not have the reach as LeBron’s. Kobe I believe is mythical especially after his passing, but Kobe sorta only played at his peak during this media boom era for maybe 4 years?? As compared to LeBron has for a decade or more

You're over thinking it. I's not about eras. Lebron has 1 legendary accomplishment (the Cleveland ring). He might play 30 years and that would be somewhat mythical. Lebron is a media creation. There's some aspect of perfection or near perfection that goes with someone reaching mythical status. For example, Jordan is undefeated in every championship game or series he ever played in. Jordan is 11-0 in Fiba, Olympics, NCAA and NBA championship game(s)/series. Jordan was only
outscored in a playoff series one time by one point. Bill Russell is undefeated in game 7's and won 13 titles in 16 basketball seasons. Stuff like that
is what those guys have on their resumes. LeBron doesn't have something like that on his resume. Dominating a weak eastern conference for 8 seasons
    doesn't quite cut it.

But as a fan as we all should be talking about this subject. Jordan took pride in being the one that took that shot. Kobe as well took pride on this. Remember Kobe was LB's favorite player. When he retires, media will move on to the next great player and he'll slowly move down the all time ranking where he should be... He's seen it happen to Kobe and others...
