NEG E Bell that sounds like a WCH Type 2! 2/22/20

- While out railfanning today, I caught the end of this stack train at County Road 1090 N. in Bryce, IL on the UP Villa Grove Sub. I only caught the end, as the train stopped for a few minutes after I caught it further north, and once I finally got around it, he started moving again.
Once he cleared the crossing, I heard what I thought was a WCH E Bell, even though this crossing had 2 NEG bells. Sure enough, the one on the signal closest to me (the eastern signal) had an NEG bell was a WCH circuit board in it. Very odd to hear, but since NEG bells are one of my least favorite bells, I don't mind the change. I will try to come back for a full video later this year. I only saw one more train the rest of the day on the Villa Grove, and I was much further south by the time he came through.

Wonder how a wch e bell sound chip got into that NEG e bell? Almost sounds like the bell at Warren st in Warrensburg MO except that e bell was a gs type 2 with a wch sound card. Still interesting nontheless.
The logic board was probably faulty so they replaced it with a wch one, the sound chip probably needs microsording to replace and most people can't microsoider
Nice, it has WCH sound chip in it, very rare and unusual
Wow! That’s the first time I heard an NEG E-Bell sound like that!
😁
Most likely the bell had a faulty sound chip, and put in a new one was cheaper than replacing the entire bell, even if the chip doesn't match.
it has a WCH Type 2 speaker in it, idk if it was accidental, but very rare.
@@fostoriadistrictrailfan3907 Speaker doesn't matter, it's the soundboard.
Reminds me of Chuttlely’s videos in the Houston area’s railroad crossings.
Ikr.
The fact the bell sounds scratchy, possibly means it has the board of an older wch bell that probably once stood at this crossing, but I’m not sure
That's unusual.
That's highly unusual.
Interesting find
Are WCH bells still made?
I think so
Yes, they still make mechanical and e-bells, as well as motor bells for drawbridges
yeah, the recent crossing bell I could think of that they made was the wch type 4 e bell
Plot twist: it’s trying to impersonate a WCH Hayes bell.
It might be odd that safetran type 2 E-Bell had a wch chip or NEG E-Bell had a wch chip on it
It's A NEG E Bell That Sounds Like A WC Hayes Electronic Bell
Why is the NEG e bell your least favorite bell? Because the WCH e bells are my least favorite.
I have this xing that sounds exactly like a GS Type 2 E bell, i was wrong as it was a NEG E Bell
I Think It Have A WC Hayes Electronic Bell Sound Board
There is a WCH speaker in there, that’s why it sounds like a WCH e-bell.
All speakers are the same, I am sure the neg board broke and it was replaced by a wch board
So I went to the Hoxie Sub and found a bunch like that
Where's that location
Read the description
E bell mounted on side
That's weird
Maybe there is dust in the speaker
They must have wanted to put a WCH E-bell in but instead put in a NEG one and gave it a WCH chip for some reason
0:12 i heard the original NEG bell so maybe there’s a WCH bell and NEG. Maybe you can hear the NEG 10%
No if you look closely you can see another neg e bell on the other crossing
The speaker was a replacement, could be the reason
holy...
I think it's sick
That's impossible for the bell to be sick to sound like that, that only way is changing the soundchip.
@@apronchaperon i think it is sick because even with a WCH chip it does sound a little sick either way
@@owentherailfan564 yea, a sick neg ebell will still not make that sound.
Weird!
May just be with a WCH speaker or so
It's A Speaker Inside The NEG E-Bell Its Sounds Like A WCH Type 1!
Hol up
Wch e bell be like
That crossing bell has been hacked
That’s impossible!
??????????????
