I would pay good money to see playthroughs of all of L.D. 50
Agree that album was a masterpiece
😱 a lot of money!!!!! This must be a #
YES
Right there with you on this.
If you saw em live in 2000 you might have gotten the chance. I was lucky enough to see em 3 times that year and one show was at a small bar in Ohio where I got to stand on the side of the stage like directly next to Ryan the entire show. He’s the reason I started playing bass.
Most underrated Bass Player in music. This man is a fucking national goddamn treasure and y'all are sleeping on him.
Not us! We all here absorbing the essence
For real. To be honest I slept on this dude because I fucking hated Mudvayne and then I listened to him play not Mudvayne and he's literally one of the best bassists in the world, easily
I have been saying this for years. He is definitely the best bassist to come out of the 90's Nu Metal era period.
@@cyborg6123 he the best indeed. He was ahead all the bass players at his time. His technique was unique n far ahead at the time during nu metal era. Most of All modern bass players are inspired by him.
yall...
Back to reddit.
I hope people who loved Mudvayne back in the days, find and enjoy the music he's making now. This dude is so inspired and inspirational! I hope one day he gets the credit he deserves.
I was blasted by LD50 back then and still love the earlier albums. And it's what kept me interested in Ryan, so I was indeed blasted again when the first STG record came out!
@@Eierkneifer69 loved Mudvayne back in day, but Soften the Glare is better to me now. Very chill.
Ryan's takent is what got me back into bass after walking away from it in my yearly teens. Wouldn't be until 30 years later that I got back into music.
I now am playing both bass a 6 string guitar. They each add skills that complement both instruments.
Thank Ryan for reviving my desire to slap some springs and to grind out some chords.
I wish you all the best.
Exactly what Eirkneifer said. I loved Ryan’s playing from 2000 so very much that he remained in the banks of my memory, which lead to me running searches to watch him play and seeing if he continued making music post-Mudvayne, 20 years later! - Testament to how much I love and respect his playing - Which is how I discovered StG. And I’m very glad I did. I always appreciated the nuances of his playing that can sometimes get lost in the mix in the metal brashness of Mudvayne. And I always loved the softer, melodic, more chill side of Mudvayne. So Soften The Glare has been very enjoyable for me.
I highly doubt I’m alone on this.
Long Live Ryan Martinie and his otherworldly talent!
I did and still do! He is, hands down, one of the best bassist of all time.
I find interesting that no matter what project Ryan is, he didn't change his sound, his style or his gear, he's just him. And getting better at it off course.
He is a purist.
No effects- pure organic bass into amp sound. Even in Mudvayne.
Living proof of the statement- Tone is in the fingers. And the fretless Warwick Thumb 😂
He now plays Fodera basses.
@@cysecgnz nothing in life is permanent. Even Ryan's association with Warwick Thumb. 😅
Was saving up to buy a Thumb. I need to sell a kidney or two, for that Fodera. 😭
Warwick tone 😋
TBH I would love to see him jaming with Danny Carey
Yes. Get Matt in the room there too. I want a MJdawn x Danny Carey synth gig.
And Omar Rodriguez Lopez
Danny Carey is boring. Technically proficient, but his drum parts aren’t as inspiring as the stuff I’ve heard Matt play.
@@TheCpj1976 you're smoked out
Id be fine with Danny or Chris Adler. Both, in my opinion, are far more skilled than any other drummer I've heard, besides Neil Pert.. RIP Also they both have raised the bar in drumming innovation for their respective styles.
Shit. Who ever talked you into this channel we owe a lot, ryknow.
🤘🏽🤘🏽
AGREED
Why did I feel like Ryan needed persuasion 😅 The man has an audience that loves him so dearly.
@@NickShinz Thank you for this!!!
This is sic. Love this humble, blessed, talented, metal monster!
I'm just a lonely drummer who wishes he had his own Ryan. Deep sigh.
i'll be your ryan dude, i need my own matthew too
Mitch Hull on drums STG
I play just like Matt!
this was the best recommendation youtube has made in a long time.
Him and matt were what made mudvaye so fucking great. Both technical wizards. Even if you listen to that first album beginning of all things to end they were so fuckin tight.
My fave riff of his is the patient mental
Not to be nit picky but Ryan wasn't on the first album Kill, I Oughtta (rereleased as Beginning of All Things to End). That was a fella named Shawn Barclay.
But I totally get what you're saying. That rhythm section was so damn unique... Gave Chad and Greg all kinds of weird places to go in the music.
Oh shit really? I never knew that!
@@AlexS-ei7kp yep. That's why cultivate sounds so.. eh.. not Ryan 😂. That bassline is missing about 200 notes to be a Martinie lick. I mean, it's good. Don't get me wrong. But it ain't ryknow 😉
I need more Matt McDonough material! Ryan is everywhere now and I couldn't be happier about it!
i am a total metalhead but since I love Ryan's playing I am now really into this music!!! thank you Ryan
Is it just me or does anyone else think if Darth Maul was a bass player, he would be Ryan?
Dude that's hilarious, the Mudvayne costume is pretty spot on, too
Nah, he just is darth maul.
one of the greatest of our time, technical, melodic, percussive, the whole package, thanks for sharing
Ryan's sound gives me the same religious/church rock/spiritual feeling that Jimi hendrix does a groove like no other fr
@@JameaJimea1175 Definitely agree his whole style gives off a groove even they heavy stuff has that groovy feeling
We need the bass playthrough of Dig
Just watch the official video from Ryan's angle. Can't ask for better than that!
Brr Brr Deng.
That's all you need to know.
FINALLY I GET TO SEE YOUR AMAZING BASS PLAYING, THANKS MR.SCHENDZIELOS FOR PERSUADING RYAN TO DO THIS!!!
Hell yeah thank you for watching!
@@NickShinz please man, I also need a severed playthrough by ryan😂😂 All kidding aside tho, thank you so much
I miss Cephalic Carnage... And great bass vid here!
Lyrics:
"BR BR DENG!"
Cant believe there were only 300 subscribers when I found this video. Ryan's a legend, wont stay like that for long I bet
700+ suscribers. The channel (at this time) has only been up for 12 hours with literally just one video up. I think it could be worse. I hope people who loved Mudvayne back in the days, find and enjoy the music he's making now.
@Danny Geronimo hell yeah
Upload the BrBr Deng and you'll reach 1M subs in 1 night.
Winner
YESSSSSS!!!
With the face paint.
@ Fuck You
I don't like it but he's right
@Fuck You Really ? You do this on a comment like this ?
I could literally watch Ryan playthrough videos like... all day. How does a brain in function in a way that comes up with parts like these? Every note is so uniquely him.
THIS. As a mediocre musician, I can't fathom what Ryan does. It's mystifying. Honestly, I love music again because of Ryan and STG!
Sickest bass player going
Good to see Mr. Martinie hasn’t lost his craft! Kids this is possibility the most underrated bassist of all time!
Ryan Martinie is the MOST ALPHA MALE bassist you will ever see or hear
This is the way to start a year... Ryan man, you are a HUGE influence of my bass playing, a big fan of you, thanks for doing this, you don't have idea how many people admire you, and I'm one of the first of that list...
And now we need Ryan to persuade Nick to do some JFAC playthrough
YES!!!
Hahaha
There it is, he's finally here. Technical beast!
Awesome. I've been listening to both Soften the Glare albums a lot lately.
Buy the albums on the Bandcamps, people! Support the band!
My favorite bassist since we hung out after the LD50 tour at Al Rosa in Cbus Ohio!
This guy shows the diversity of a true musician! The slap bass work he did in mudvayne was unprecedented in my opinion...mixing it into heavy music was unique. Soften the Glare even shows more of his talent! Love it
Nail on the head.
hell yeah!!! hope to see more STG and Mudvayne (if possible) from you!
Ryan just oozes inspiration. Everytime I see him play it makes me want to go pick up my bass. Hope for more videos in the future!
Greatest damn bass player of all time in my generation. No one in the world has the sound and oddly unique technique like him. He revolutionized the way how the bass is played. You can put a blindfold on me and I could pick up
If Ryan is playing or not. Very distinctive sound and methods. He’s the reason why I started playing Warwick bass guitar.
This man is a god of music and of the Bass. Praise Martinie.
I think I speak for a lot of people when it comes
To asking for mudvayne play through videos. Love the video.
Fuck yes..
You sir and one of the most refreshing bass players of the last 25 years IMO. Looking forward to some more content..
I am so happy this channel exists! Ryan's one of my favorite bassists and he's one of the reasons I picked up the bass guitar! This guy is insanely talented and I've always wanted to learn his secrets! I'd absolutely love it if you made more of these! 🤘😎
Been a huge fan of Mudvayne ever since the first time I ever saw the video for “Dig”. Never gotten to go to any concerts of theirs, but I definitely listen to their music. 🤘🙂🤘
I was an Ld 50 loyalist . But then he came out with this band. Bravo sir
He could very well be 1 of the best
Ryan is one of best metal bass players that ever existed on this godly earth. I really enjoy hearing his bass lines. Ryan, we'd love to hear more of your stuff! Glad mudvayne is back now so maybe we can get to hear more of what you have to offer.
Wow this is insane. So glad to see some solo content coming out! This man has been slept on for way, way too long.
I could watch you all day every day for the rest of my life
Something I love about watching bass players in general is how unique their right hand techniques are from each other.
I really like yours in particular.
Show off!!! That was sick Bro. I presume that's the same Warick since forever ago? The animation actually highlights exactly what you're playing better than a regular video. Thx for the upload.
This man is the very reason i play bass, his style of playing inspired me to keep going until i get it! Also cool effect for the video
Amazballs!!....Been paying attention to Ryan ever since LD50 and always will. HUGELY Influential to so many in all genre's these days. Eugene in Jinjer just to name one that I just heard in an interview says Ryan the #1 influence and those of us Mudvayne fans saw it without him even saying it. RYAN, YOU ARE THE MAN!! Please don't ever stop🤘😃🤘
I’ve been playing/studying bass for 18 years, and this guy is the GOAT in my book🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
#idol
Finally! A social media platform!!
I think Mudvayne is about to make an appearance. This channel might confirm that maybe ? ? Right ? Or am I reaching ? I miss Mudvayne. Even this instrumental has L.D 50 feels
This channel deserves million subscriber all bassist here share this channel with everyone
One of the top bass players ever to live.
Un gran referente para mí desde cuándo lo conocí en mudvayne con el LD50 de ahí en adelante has sido una inspiración para mi como músico bajista
Absolutely love your style! If you take requests it would be amazing to see a playthrough of (k)Now F(orever)!
The man that is responsible for so many of us picking up a bass for the first time and running with it. 14 years later and I haven’t put it down. Thank you, Ryan.
Ryan is the catalyst of my decision to pick up bass. 14 years later, i say, thank you Ryan.
This dude IS THE SICKEST at a lil bit of a slap a da bass
such a unique voice on the bass
Complexity = Ryan Martinie
Thanks for sharing brother. You’ve got a lot of fans that are eating this up!
Can't wait to see you shredding with Mudvayne again soon in the uk. 16 years is a long time between shows. Too long.
Wow this guy bring back memories. I was in my early twenties when I first listened to L.D.50. If I had a metal super group I would have to have Ryan Martinie and Justin Chancellor fight to the death so I didn't have to pick between them.
It's about time one of the best bass players of our generation got his own CZcams channel!
Been waiting sooo long for this, pretty much my biggest inspiration.
Welcome to YT dude! Can’t wait to see more of this , most brilliantly done!
I appreciate this so much dude. Thankful you're doing this!
It's good to hear from Ryan again,he's one of my favorite metal bass players and definatly one if the most talented
It was about time 🤘
Thank you Ryan for this amazing share. You have always been a big influence in my playing, and I’m very much looking forward to whatever you post on this channel ✌️
Yes!! Hope you keep uploading man!! Long time fan
Yes baby! 2021 is looking better already. Congratulations Ryan
love this! thanks, Ryan!
So Awesome!!!!
Mudvayne confirmed for shows this year👍
Fricken awesome man. Ryan is amazing. Finally get to see mudvayne this September. Ryan is the only one I haven't had the pleasure of meeting. I got my fingers crossed 🤞
Awesomeness
Awesomeness!
Thank u sir. For everything!
An absolute GOD of the bass!
Been a fan for years! Great to see you on here!
Amazing!!
Absolutely Amazing!!!
this was so tasty! thank you for being with us again!
Amazing
The legend is here
flawless as always, sir!
Never tired of watching
THIS IS AWESOME!
My god. He’s has so many places to “show off” so to speak and he is surprisingly humble in his playing, which I constantly find both baffling and amazing at the same time. How does one get this man on a podcast? Be an important figure in the online space? Ahh, that I am not. Unfortunately.
Right on! Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s a fantastically inspirational way to start the year. Here’s to hoping for more play through videos like this in the future 🙏🏻❤️🎵🎶
Thanks for uploading you are a pleasure to hear and watch play.!!
Mesmerizing!!!
This is awesomeeeeee ❤️❤️❤️
DOPE! Looking forward to seeing more content from this legend
Man, I love your playing. Thanks for this!
This is awesome
This is so freakin' good!!! Can't wait for more amazing music
It's been so long since I've seen any new content from Ryan. Big thanks to Schendzielos and Ryan for putting this up! Love you both infinitely, and Happy New Year guys!
🤘🏽🤘🏽 thanks for watching !
LEGEND
Dude I've been a fan for years and am soooo glad you're uploading vids. Soften the Glare is great. I hope we get more uploads in the future.
Greatest bass player of all time right here. Been a fan since LD.50 and it's in large part due to Ryan's playing that I continue to have that album and some of the other Mudvayne albums on high rotation to this day. Soften the Glare are also fucking fantastic and worth your time. Never stop creating incredible art, thanks for sharing this Ryan.
This was fantastic to watch and listen! Can’t wait for more! 🤘🏼
Man what a legend! ❤️
