This guy is the reason i play bass. this guy is the reason i have a warwick. This guy showed me the style in wanted to play. This guy gave me something to aim for.
Ryan used to play at a club in Detroit called Harpo's and I worked there and saw them do soundcheck there and at many other shows, Ryan & Matt are fucking amazing together. Their push/pull with the beat is almost like Tool, but more energetic and in your face. I hope they do a new album soon. Hellyeah is cool, but they've done 3 albums since Mudvayne last recorded that I know of.
Hell yeah!!! Ryan's the reason I play the way I do. And the reason I have my Warwick's. My thumb 5 nt n $$ 4 bo
Totally agree.
Same! I was inspired by Ryan, and god I love his playing style!
man mudvayne needs to get back together write some really heavy shit
I'm actually enjoying his post Mudvayne work a lot better
Hopefully Hell Yeah will implode now and Chad will come running back.
LD 50 +LSD changed my life , for real.
@@JohnSmith-oo4qx Ummph! I can't imagine having those two in my head at the same time! After an aural eargasm, I'd probably implode from the sheer brutiful (brutal & beautiful) madness of it all.
Well well well
Come back to the metal world ryan, we need you!
Duh !!!
They back
Easily one of the BEST bass players ever. Dude will always have the reputation for being one of the most talented stars in the metal world. Wish he got more recognition.
I mean, he's no Claypool, but in the metal world, yes he is the absolute best.
@@dgates6165 a bass battle between Ryan Martinie and Les Claypool would be the end of life as we know it.
@@mateogonzalez6421 It would be the equivalent of Matter and Anti-Matter colliding.
Is this dude a professor or a bassist? Holy Philosophical overload! LMAO!
Hahah when i was watching the video i have been saying that, i was like come on man you're not a philosopher, you're a bassist i think
@@imadelhilali440 He's extremely educated and reads a lot... I wouldn't be surprised if he got a degree outside music
ahahahahah i would have said that too ...
Would love to see/hear more from Ryan Martinie....he can kill in any genre
"Soften the glare" is his new band
Best bass player alive
Hees good but pig benis from mrh is my favorite
I love that here I can find other people whose other favorite bass player is also pig benis.
+Logan Kobza Mushroomhead for life
+Robert Curtis me me and me
J.McCarthy
Flea isn't dead.
He's so nerdy lol I love it.
Daamn i wish that someday he will do a solo album.. I think that he has got the talent for it !
Look up Soften the Glare
Now we have soften the glare!!
What a legend. Always the coolest and most REAL.
I love this guy man. I wish I was in a band with him.
Thank you! You've done musicians everywhere such a favor. Of all the musicians on the planet, this guy is really the main one I always want to learn more from.
Going back in time and trying to learn all i can from these guys Mudvayne and their music... Man i miss mudvayne
Not enough people know about Ryan Martinie. He is incredible.
The way he plays is so diverse and universal it just blows my fucking mind
@Forbassplayersonly thank you for posting this!!! Just subscribed.
Ryan is a wizard
I have a feeling that if given a chance, he can act well as a villain in a movie
Could be!
lord he's such a sweetheart
Ryan's got more jacked since this interview.
Ryan Martinie is a huge inspiration to us!
I love how Stu Hamm is just kind of chillin' in the background.
The real questions about Ryan/MuDvAyNe were not asked ....
Man, you are the best.... all the interviews reflect it. Music is just a facet. Inspiration beyond music
Thanks for weighing in.
I love how music is something that you can sit down and learn to play really well without ever really understanding the more complex mechanics of it (I'm sure it helps), or you can be like Ryan here and talk about it in a way that almost sounds like quantum mechanics lol. I never get over how different musicians are compared to their persona on stage...especially bands like Mudvayne, Slipknot, and Manson where they basically embody an entity on stage that we as fans somewhat find living deep inside us as part of our internal being (or maybe that's just me lol).
Love Soften The Glare!
👍
I love Ryan's mug, he's awesome.
for you is that I played bass, you're a great influence!
i am a drummer and i am listen to this!
But it’s for bass players only
I'd love to hear a Ryan's radio show.
come baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!
I still love his parts in LD50 I hope he brings that style back in the next mudvayne album. I think he should also play with Animals As Leaders
Let's hope so . Mudvayne is underrated bands :)
So much wisdom.
I love how he calls his bandmates not by their names but by the guitar player and the singer. Lol
😁
Ryan Shreds !!!!! Illinois native myself !
Just one more mudvayne album please?!
Br Br Deng forever changed my life........ 100 percent serious.
Cool! Thanks, Eric.
There should be a Ryan Martinie funko pop
Bass god. Please please bring back Mudvayne
It's beautiful music is out there and there's a meaning the sound of metal in Our Roots
This makes me really like them more
So humble
Imagine this guy if he filled in for Steve DiGiorgio with death. The Philosopher would sound better than the original recording. To think like Ryan, after Schuldiner's first solo he'd do the octave tapping.
👍
If this guy lives his life like he plays the bass he will be just fine. Great bass player and sounds like a good guy.
Most chill dude I ever met. I only wish i met dime and vinnie.😪
Yep. Thanks, Mr. Black.
What a guy!!! what a cool dude!! what an interview!!!!! Band or no band, hes a great dude, and LET him do just that!!!
Glad you liked the interview. Thanks!
Holy shit Ryan lives in my state I love this fucking guy awesome musician Mudvayne forever
Jesus Christ hes ripped as all hell
I was hoping he would ask Ryan if Mudvayne is ever going to reunite again ?
This HAS to be the nicest guy in metal. I mean damn. Him and David Ellefson from Megadeth seem like such sweet down to earth country boys
Yep!

I usually listen to hiphop, but mudvayne and Ryan are gods. 👑👑👑👑👌

Yes and yes. Thanks!
The kid is deep! and a fucking animal on the bass!!
Yep! Thanks, Robby.
Crazy ass..seen him run to his car after a show w/o a shirt in the middle of winter.. ( Peoria il). Used to play with Greg back in the day so had back stage passes..i often think thst would be me if I wouldn’t have clashed with greg. Lol

interviewing from that close is obnoxious. close talkers bro smh. Ryans going crosseyed trying to make eye contact w you
LOL! You got me, Seth. Boy, I haven’t seen this one in a long time. Back in the early days, before I could take an assistant with me to Germany, I had to set up the camera myself, then worry if we would both be in the shot. I don’t miss those days! (My videos, BTW, have gotten a lot better since then!) Try to enjoy it anyway. Thanks for the feedback, my friend 😂
Is he gay? Asking for a friend. A friend who constantly fantasies about him
🐢 meow
No, he’s got a wife
No idea. 😂
