Is this heaven on earth? Moving to Portugal.

- This is one of those moments that come around once in a blue moon.
We have been asked to showcase this incredible property in a completely unique location that has become available on the market place for what we consider to be a remarkably reasonable asking price.
Located at the very end of the schist village, Casal De Sao Simao, overlooking the heavenly river beach of Fragas de Sao Simao, this really is a chance in a lifetime opportunity to acquire a wonderful home, a perfect holiday retreat or a business opportunity, with the potential for three letting units.
We cannot stress the rarity of this opportunity, the beautiful location and the quality of finish combined with a quirky design and scope for potential over a deceptively spacious property.
Get in touch with the wonderful Fernando Fernandes through the link below if you are interested in this or properties in the area.
Asking price 168,500 euros.

Brexit is working its magic. What a great idea that was and isn't it good to know that Putin was all-in with Boris.
@@fdfac What about lemons? I am not sure what you mean, but Putin is in my view one of the smartest politicians alive! Brexit is a good price to pay for a rebellion against globalization at a time when everything needs repair or replacement at the local level! In the UK everything is expensive, there is a big choice and the best multicultural has to offer at this point in time! If we could exchange the best Portugal has to offer and in return, the UK replace it with something that is needed there! Oh what a wishful thought, you see it needs us all to help each other and stop relying on the global billionaire to dictate the price of our lemons or what wax that goes into it! Sometime Exit is the only way!
@@17rebirth yes Brexit was an excellent move! Of course nanny state liberals don't like it when they lose.
I'm almost 84. My favorite book as a child was Ferdinand the Bull who loved to sit under the Cork Trees in Portugal and smell the flowers. I learned to read from that and other books like it. Thanks for this video.
That was my most favorite book and still is!
I'm really sorry I've only just seen this comment, what a lovely thing to read, i have just read it to miss Sarah and it made her heart melt, sorry for the late reply ❤️💚💛🇵🇹
One of my most favorite books. When I hear take name Fernando, I immediately smile and think of that bull. Thanks for the memory.
Best part is that the village comes full of Portuguese people ❤️
Exactamente 💛💚❤️🇵🇹💛💚❤️
Stunning ! I could move there. Lived in Europe for many years and go back as often as possible. Love the people of Portugal! All the best from California
I could happily live there Monte, lovely home and wonderful location, just perfect really.
Where in California? I grew up in Clovis and went to college in San Luis Obispo
It's only avaliable to effeminates from the UK who bow down to freaks they call their kings and queens.
@@jimoleander8393 thats a strange comment Jim, would you like to expand/explain please amigo?
I live very close to the area in the video. All the scenery here is stunning, the people are very friendly. No litter, no graffiti, no parking restrictions, nothing but clear air, peace and wonderfulness. Would I go back to London......
I'm guessing that's a no Liz 😉
You see, you are going from the ridiculous to the sublime. I live in semi-rural Derbyshire - No Littler, no graffiti, no parking restrictions, very little crime, clean air, peace, & friendly people who I don’t have to learn another language to speak to. No damnable heat in the Summer - true - rain now & again, although we’ve had a very dry Summer & Autumn so far for the last 2 years, 4 lovely seasons to look forward to every year & no worries about rural fires every Summer. I’ve now got my late ex husbands villa to sell just inland of the Costa Blanca, I could go & live in it, but No Thanks - give me 4 seasons over ridiculously hot & dry every time. It wouldn’t do for us all to be the same I know, & you wouldn’t get me living in or near London for a gold clock, but don’t knock the rest of the U.K - it isn’t all rubbish, just like Portugal isn’t the Utopia a lot of Ex Pats say it is.
@@minkgin3370 I spent several years on the CB, in Rojales and Quesada. The weather there is nothing like Portugal and it is the biggest dump I have ever seen. Wild horses wouldn't get me back to such a soulless, characterless place. But then it's horses for courses, isn't it? I didn't want to stay in London and wanted warm and green (after the CB, green was very important). I have found that the Portuguese are far FAR friendlier than the arrogant Spanish. I don't speak the language although knowing a bit of Spanish and my O Level French helps. A lot of people speak English and communication isn't a problem. It's currently raining and it even snowed here a couple of years ago. Frosts are common, too. I have been to Derbeyshire and it's lovely. Parts of England are superb, but I'm from Kent and would want to live there - unfortunately getting ruined, these days. And overrun.
Rocking horse shit……………love this guy!!
@@lizhood6132 ….No….I wouldn’t want to live anywhere near Kent as it is now - as you say, very over-run. Yes, horses for courses. I’m as happy living where I do as you are living in Portugal, so let’s leave it at that & both continue to enjoy our locales.
I can almost smell the air ❤ living away from my Country for almost 20 years. Thank you for the video, brings back so many wonderful memories!
Our absolute pleasure Vera! Right now it just smells of orange blossom everywhere! So wonderful it fills me with joy 💚❤️💛

We moved from Scotland to Portugal in July last year. The village where we now live is 30 minutes drive away from the city of Coimbra. There are several British couples and other nationalities around. The locals are friendly, kind and accepting. (We visited the schist area that is on this video recording. It’s amazing.)
You're very lucky, as are we. We know of this friendly and accepting community we are now part of too 💛💚❤️
I love Scotland, hope someday go there. What's the name of the village that you are now? Lousã is amazing.

We now live in Tábuas.
Damn... Never met a Scottish! I actually hope to meet one, one day. I heard you're quite fun... And "crazy". Seems like we would get along just fine 😆
Where did you move to - I’m in Tabua
One of the things that impresses me the most is all the different trees and plants every where.
I'm jealous...looks lovely.
From Newcastle England.
I love the wood ceilings. And the stones are amazingly beautiful!
This video appeared randomly in my youtube and it was amazing because I was there with my girlfriend in the last autumn in the end of the afternoon, we been in a walk till the river, and that cute cat follow us till there! We loved that village! Greetings from a portuguese couple :)
So cool! It is such a lovely place, the village and the river beach are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your country with us, we are beyond grateful Ricardo
In Portugal the smells of nature are wonderful. The lemon smells of lemon and leaves you the intense smell in the hands, the tangerine when peeling has exudes that unmistakable smell, because everything , still is, very natural without artificialisms fruit of mass production. Really, when we see fruit coming from other countries like mação, orange, we notice that, really, it's all big, the same size, apples even look like they shine, but... the taste... because.. the taste, the smell is not the same as in Portugal. And it is these differences that we often do not value that delight foreigners. That's that... Hugs and good Easter for everyone!
Correção. like apple...
I read this a couple of days ago and it's so very true and a lovely comment, thank you Andre, you made my day amigo ❤️💛💚
That was years ago before the take over by big distribution companies, today almost everything is tasteless like everywhere unless you buy from private tiny producers.

Thanks for the tour of a beautiful property and its location. The views are amazing.
It's a really lovely property and will make someone very happy I am sure
Those citrus blossoms smell so good!
It has to be! I love the rolling landscape! How whimsical ! The homes are so charming and I love the tile work and just the atmosphere, beautiful.
Absolutely enchanting !!!
Absolutely gorgeous views & the house had a lot of character too, but I just loved the fruit trees & the garden areas, as you said a small piece of heaven on earth. Thank you so much for sharing, I really enjoyed. Have a great week.
Thank you Patricia, for watching and commenting too, we love the area and the house 💛💚❤️

Yes, exactly this ❤️💚💛🇵🇹
Good to see you found a property you didn’t feel the urge to plaster the walls. Really nice place for someone who just wants to move in right away.
Ha! It's a place that needs to be left exposed for sure, and it's mostly not under ground
@@destino2portugal I may have missed it, but this village is one of 27 aldeias do xisto therefore a lot of tourists will visit which may (or may not ;)) make it more appealing to investors.
Stunning location and property. Also, the audio was crystal clear on the video, not even a hint of wind noise…. Great job!
Many thanks for your kind words and comments, and yes the property is an absolute stunner ❤️💚💛

awwww thanks Jonathan, its hard not to smile when you are in such a beautiful country
My 19 yo son, Benjamin says that he wants to see Portugal before he decides if he will join me but I am bringing him in January and I know he will Absolutely love it there.
Beautiful property and location. There must be opportunities to repeat this in other villages and hamlets, if there are enough like minded people. Footloose Crafters bought a ruined house and restored it, total cost including purchase 16K Euro.
You have improved enormously your camera work, you mentioned in your last video the new microphone which certainly has made a massive improvement to the sound quality of your vlog.
Thank you Noddy! I've been trying to improve in all areas and keep delivering better content.
We absolutely love the foot loose crafter's, they've been one of our favourite vloggers for a long time as they're very genuine and very hard working people.
Our village is similar and we have had discussions with the few inhabitants about restoring the other houses so we hear you amigo.
Thank you for sharing this video with us. Beautiful!

i've been to Portugal and the people are so helpful and friendly. It's a pretty young persons' Country. the young people I met were very well-educated...spoke at least 3 languages. Porto is the City from any I've been to in Europe that I would choose to live to.
Porto is a stunning city ❤️💚💛
Porto good Times 😃
I visited schist villages in Portugal, and that one too. Most of them are really isolated and not accessible for vehicules everywhere. When considering making works, remember that everything must be carried by hand. As your future groceries. Also most of those villages dont even have shops.
Before they were abandoned, those villages (Lousã area) were traditionally autarquic places, with natural water and subsistance agriculture. They are truly beautifull but houses are tiny and dark, not all have a view. And they are protected village, so you can't do any work you want, forget opening a giant bay in the wall . It really takes a special mindset to live there.
Rental is difficult to organise because of the remoteness, unless you live there or find someone to take care of it for you (that you ll need to pay). Very few people actually live there, it feels more like open air museum.
A challenge in any case.
There's a car in the photo 🙄
Your realistic report is appreciated, thank you.
@@fractalofgod6324 Weighing pros and cons is an adult task of taking in every situation realistically, especially one wherein lifestyles will be undergoing great change. Purchasing property is not a “party”, it’s business.
@@fractalofgod6324... He wasn't commenting on the specific site, just giving an overall view from his perspective of related matters... Which could be very helpful to potential buyers.
@@fractalofgod6324... Seems you're having a hard time grasping a simple thought.. Let's try again... Slowly... First... No one in this thread has said, or even suggested that they, or anyone else, should make a decision to buy a property based on the opinion of some random person on CZcams... So what your responses amount to are just straw man arguments.
Second... As I said in my earlier comment... All that was being said in lust4bass' comment is simply an overall view from his perspective of related matters... Which could be very helpful to potential buyers.
It was just a simple comment highlighting some things that should be considered when looking at/buying this type of property... And it sounds like it's from actual experience.
That's all it was, Fractal of God... Nothing more... But from your first comment you were trying to put it in a negative spin on it by suggesting it was a Debbie Downer kind of comment... And then, when someone pointed out that your comment was a bit off, you attacked them also... With a childish "...As an adult..." attempted insult.
Honestly... The only goose around here is you.
Get over yourself.
Hi Nick. Awesome house and good price. That house would sell for 1.5 million in the Toronto area. To get the eqivalent of a D7 in Italy will be 3-4 times per month as in Italy. This is not a renovation project but finished in quality materials. The views are stunning. It is also not a stand alone but part of a special heritage community. The "value of the community is greater than the summ of the individual homes. They are also special in that they are xisto slate. Thanks for showing it.
