Maguire isn't bad at all, just gets stitched up in and out of possession by a poor midfield. Ifyour midfield wasn't so flimsy and susceptible to quick counters he'd have a better chance of positioning himself to step in bring the ball out. At the same time, if the midfielders aren't giving him options to pass to when you play from the back, he hasn't got the mobility to turn sharply when pressed. It's a team game.
It makes me sad that people think that these players are really bad. They are quality players. I think the problem is confidence. Its not a bad idea to a psychiatrist and a media spinner to really shield and nurture these players.
