- What is it about the vintage look we like so much? maybe it's that it is so different from any other look and something that makes us think of the golden era of cinema.

Team “Activate Windows”!
I am unsure what that means, but yes
Green Goat Productions he’s pointing to your bootleg windows (noted by the “activate windows” call to action on the bottom eight of your screen)
Oh, yeah all makes sense now. Cheers.
Also, it has and is, now active.
You know its a great tutorial when Windows isn't activated. Jokes aside, this is one of the best No BS tutorials I've ever seen.
Ha, dont put that joke aside. Cheers for funny comment and watching. Appreciated

Thanks so much, much appreciated buddy.
WoW I've just made a 300 thumbs up! Good luck, you are master of colorgrading!)

Have a great weekend
Looks great! love the tutorial! But i am curious how this would look with a face, how it would affect the skin tones
Very good, I know I haven't made a vid for a very long time, but I do think a lot about making one for exactly that. If I ever get time, I'll do that.
Great video, thankyou for this. But there is just one request. Can you rather do breakdowns of what constitute a vintage look as to be able to use that knowledge to different videos. For instance what kind of look, saturation, Color temp which remains same for a vintage look kind of a thing.
Thankyou
Hi,
Yeah no worries. That actually is a very good point.
Thanks so much and thanks for commenting. And maybe thanks for thr subscribe?
Have a great day
Good answer. I'm looking to make a new video about this topic. Which will Incorporate a film lut and some techniques in regards to film density and saturation.
Ya
Cool Vid, keep up the good work!
Cheers 🤟
Whoa so great!
Cheers mate

hey, thanks a lot this was very helpful!! i really like how your commands are being displayed, especially the power window and the small size of the other videos, how did you manage to do that ? i’m sorry if it’s unclear, i don’t speak english very well
I don't really understand sorry, with the power window you can make it larger or smaller with the points around it or add in more. Sorry I can't help more
If you're talking about how I zoom in a couple of times. That's done in the edit. You can't do that in resolve. I copied the clip and zoomed it In on the edit page. I used crop to make it work better. I hope that helps
damn 🔥
subscribed bro
Cheers mate
I am also a green goat. thanks for the video!
Goats are great
Wow how effective you are using your bookmarks on your browser. its amazing lol

What lenses do you use usually with your BMPCC?
Hi,
Thanks for your question. I'm using a 28mm nikon lens for this. It's a film lens.
I really want some new lenses, the cheap sirui anamorphic lenses look great.
I've got another grading vid coming out tomorrow using the same lens.
Have a great day!
Why didn't you make the Color Space Transform from the BlackMagic color space to rec.709?
This video was made before I started doing that.
Still unfortunate that film grain is locked behind a paywall, but yhx
Yeah, I know what you mean
So good
Cheers bloke
@@GreenGoatProductions can I still do all of this on the free version?
@@dylanbaler2872 Pretty much, the only one would be the blur, but you can work around that with the free version of "blur and sharpen". The film grain you can download for free and chuck that bad boy in using the edit tab.
There's a vid on my page explaining how to do it.
@@GreenGoatProductions ok thank you!
Anytime
thanks pal
Cheers mate
very useful!!!
Thanks, appreciate it. Hope you have a good day
Can anyone help me make it a bit akin to a horror film type look with film? What would you suggest I do and what colours do I add into it? I would like a more dark blue tint to it with the film grain adding onto the feel but I don’t know how I could achieve this
Depends on what type of horror you're going for.
If you want a dirty horror look, try a bleach by pass look. I have a vid on it, the thumbnail is me in a army uniform.
Or you can do this look, then add some green tint to the shadows and make it darker. Or try and combine both
@@GreenGoatProductions thank you very very much for this. My film is more of a psychological horror with a slasher element to it but I’ll check out the video you mentioned love you channel
Thank you so much, I actually set up my camera to record something for a horror grade. Thanks for the inspiration
what version are you using, I downloaded version 19 public beta and it looks lightly different than yours
For this video? Probably version 17 or 16. She's an old video
at 4:00 when I use the picker it doesn't highlight the area that I picked for me. Am I doing something wrong?
As in it's now showing highlights at all? If so, go to "view" then to "nightlight" or shift H. Or, make sure you have the picker selected which is that weird eye dropper. It's located bottom left of your viewing screen.
@@GreenGoatProductions Yes! Exactly what I needed. Thank you!
@gustavohohagen9418 great to hear mate! Let me know if you have any other trouble or want to learn something.
What kind of footage is this? The blur on the right edge of the pot makes it look like it's from a phone in portrait/cinematic mode?
It's bmpcc4k. The blur is created in post or it's just out of focus
I love the more "vintage" look but I absolutely hate fake grain, noise, flecks, and aspect ratios, especially when fake rounded borders are added (looks super cheap/cheesy). 16:9, clean with "filmic" grading is the best imho.
Yeah of course. Good point. I'm sure most people would love to shoot film to get an actual filmic look, but it's not always possible. Film is a bit pricey, but I do agree with people over doing it. Cheers for watching and the comment
It says "Site is not secure". Couldn't download sample film for tutorial.
Unfortunately that's something on your end, nothing I can do on mine.
What about Windows whats the key we put as Mac - Opt S
Ctrl S
what film stock did you go for?
I think it started off at 35mm 400T. But I fooled around with grain size etc
I love you crack
Cheers
please can u update link to megaupload? It´s not working. Thank you!!
Yeah sure, sorry about that
Alright, she's fixed. Let me know if you need anything else, or, would like to see anything else.
I'm really thinking about DaVinci I know I can get for free but as I understand you have to pay 300$ to have access for color grading? What about computer needs to be really powerfull?
It's all free, including the colour grading. The only thing you don't get is the ofx stuff, which isn't really a big deal anyway. You won't need it If you're starting out. You don't need a super fast computer if you're just doing colour grading and editing. When you start using film grain and noise reduction, it will slow your computer. The free version doesn't have though things, so you don't need to worry about that stuff.
@@GreenGoatProductions I'm back to you later on... I have a question....
Can this be done in the free version of Resolve?
It can, tricky to say over a message. I'll work on a free version one for you and thr gang.
@@GreenGoatProductions thanks brother
Lost me in the middle lol the mouse clicking was going too fast for me to catch up 😢
Ha, sorry man. I've slowed it down it my old age now.
@@GreenGoatProductions Lol ur good man. Im subbin! any chance you could do a tutorial or maybe teach us on how to get that film look? i know this video was sorta like that.
Looking for that VuhLandes or Serr type of look.
@gettriggered8404 all good mate, no dramas. I can look Into it, it's really tricky and something only the best of the best can really nail down. I will try to see what I can do though. Cheers for the comment
Can i do this in Premiere?
I'm sure you can, I couldn't tell you though, I'm terrible at prem. Sorry mate
Color Correcting while color blind sure is hard!
Ha, that sounds like a very difficult task. Some simple advice. Use your scopes, they may help to know what is sitting where. Good luck buddy
@@GreenGoatProductions :D
I cant use output blanking
It should be under - Timeline - output blanking
Why is my "output banking" greyed out?
Are you in the edit or colour page? it wont show in the media page
@@GreenGoatProductions thanks! I am quite new to daVinci
@@GreenGoatProductions I want to achieve this look czcams.com/video/DqySMp3Zbeo/video.html any tips?
That's ok, always happy to answer questions.
There's quite a few different looks I. There. Any particular part you would like to see? If so, give me the time stamp and we'll go from there

Thanks
did you activate tho
Activate?
cant use film grain ;(
There's another video on my channel that shows you how to add free film grain. Watch that.
@@GreenGoatProductions i mean i have the free version so cant use
You can't use that film grain, but there's a video on my page that demonstrates how to import free film grain and how to use it in resolve.
Only clicks without explanation not for beginners
Cheers for watching though
