Bro, I studied Cinematography on a Film School in Barcelona and I am currently working as Spark in movies and tv shows. My thing is light and everything envolved. I am currently studying lighting architectural desing because it is another subject i would love to develop myself in.
Whatever, the thing is that I make videos sometimes for myself or small personal projects beyond my current profession (spark).
I gotta say that the way you explain all related with color grading and "styling" a shot is near perfection. No egos, no arrogant words... Just a smile in your face and the desire to make people explore their own styles and personality beyond your method.
The emphasis on telling that there is no one way of doing things. Even telling that your own mind change opinions depending on the day.
Quick, useful and positive class of Davinci Resolve.
My congratulations.
This is the best color grading tutorial for DaVinci that I've seen so far!! Thank you for breaking everything down!!
Your tutos are filled with things I didn't know I needed😮💛 thanks for that Joris! Also the mood, it's a always a great exp to watch your videos
Gorgeous results, amazing tutorial.
Thank you Joris 💐💐💐
Thank you Joris for always being kind and sharing the wonderful information 😎
Straight to the point and packed with good info. Thanks! I’ll definitely be back for more
The best video about getting the film look. Quick. No nonsense. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Waited for this…Great tut🙌🏻🤩
nice... finally someone used Color Space Transform with such sense. Then we can easily correct exposure later ^^ ...
I’ve been putting together some vintage lens for my upcoming video and these tips are nice to add to the list. Thanks.
thats so good. please do more of those videos!
Dude, that was amazing. Thanks so much!!!
Great tutorial! Showed some interesting effects I have not yet seen.
Awesome look.
Thanks for sharing ✌️
Love this, thank you! I've been binge watching your videos lately, thanks for sharing the knowledge! :)
Much appreciated 🙏🏻🔥
thank u this is super easy tutorial for me and i finally understand how people have this look :)
That look really good man 🔥, might use your technic on a future project! Thanks for Sharing!! 🚒
Hola soy de Ecuador y este video me ayudó mucho a recrear ese Filmlook deseado en mis videos, muchas gracias por tu contenido
Nice to see that Intro footage was shot in Santo Domingo where I live. :) Thanks for the tutorial!
i just wannt to say thank you so much man I really appreciate your work
Awesome tutorial!. Very helpful. But i was wondering at around 6:20, why you use the log wheels instead of the primary wheels to change the colors. Is it more subtle?
AWESOME VIDEO HELPS MY LOOK OUT SO MUCH! AND ITS SOOOOO EZ
molto bello, tra i migliori visti di questo genere
fantastic tutorial
Great tutorial! Question for you though. What are your project settings in the color management tab? Is your timeline set to davinci wide gamut/intermediate or just rec 709? And output at rec709? Thanks!
really good results🔥
you are the hero!
Really great tutorial brother.
Thank you for the great video. Finally you said about digital sharp effect that our cameras have. And the way we can fix it is with blur. Nobody said that before. I was wondering how to make a video look filmish 😂Now I know. My camera doesn’t have log so I wonder how to give my m50 mark ii film look in color grading. I guess first step is blur then film luts, but what color space transform should I use it to make it flat then color grading?
Thank you soooooooooooooooo much its help I always want this type of look for my street videos...
I'm going to make a movie using your videos as a template. Thank you!
Nice!
Hey can i ask you a question? Lot of videographers in my area use sony 10 Bit cam for shooting and they dont use pictureprofile instead they use light inside creative style. So my question is what will be the input CST for these kind of footage?
This is a great tutorial. Thank you very much. Subscribed!
Welcome!
Cool video! I am also interested on how you make these transitions
great! I will also refer to it and make a video.
Thank you! :)
I like this look 👍👍👍
Це найкраще відео, дякую!
Could you share your noise reduction settings if you are using one?
hey Joris, do you know a fix for the stuttering Timeline every time i move he playerhead ?
Thanks 😊
Thank you Joris
Great video, it would be nice if you had a tutorial for the free version of resolve, it doesnt have some of the effects like film damage, grain, halation and some others, but this will help me a lot!
how would you order these if you are grading a group? would you put all of these nodes in pre-clip then do individual adjustments on clip??
nice tutorial and pretty shots from DR (;
Hello sir, Can you please make a video on the color accuracy of video through various screens (i.e. Windows, Android, and Mac ios). I work on windows os I exported a video from Da Vinci resolve using Rec709 - A colorspace and it looks slightly different on mac os in terms of greens and blues mostly when the color profile of MacBook m1 air is set to COLOR LCD. I tested this thing with many youtube videos the results are the same. But when I changed the MacBook m1 air color space to Rec. ITU-R BT.709-5 or sRGB IEC61966-2.1 the colors were mostly the same as viewed in Windows or any other Android devices.
I searched a lot about this -
> Which is the correct color space and gamma tag to export from Da Vinci Resolve?
> Why there is a difference in colors among Apple devices, windows devices, and Android devices when all are properly color calibrated?
> Which color space settings are best for Mac displays so that one video would look the same on Windows or mac display?
> Best way to learn these things (i.e. color space, color profile, export color settings) so that we can have the same colors through multiple devices?
Please make a good explainer video on this as there is no as easy or trustable resource to gain this information learn about it. I think it is a bigger problem because everyone teaches color grading but does not address this issue at all. This is a bigger issue for all the beginner colorists when working with clients as the colors look a whole lot different on their screens.
Thank you so much. Love your content and videos.
Wonderful! 9 nodes was enough to get me in the flow of what you were doing. Look out- I think I might be catching on to Resolve, thanks to you. Your videos seem to walk a precarious line where you involve enough features but limit the detail so that it balances some learning without burying me. EG, you don't discuss every setting in the Inspector, thank you very much. I appreciate you bringing me along in Resolve. PS, enjoyed the Halation explanation and example. I had no idea what that was.
Have someone show you 75% of how it works and find out the rest yourself. That's how I learn the most 💪🏻💥
@@JorisHermanshow do I get DaVinci resolved studio not the free version?
@@Daddykings123 Click "Buy online now" (that's the Studio version): www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve
@@JorisHermans yes I have tried to do that before but it doesn’t accept our card here in Nigeria
@@Daddykings123 Then you'll have to find a third party reseller and buy the License Key from them. For example, I bought my Key from an online camera store.
Thanks 🤙🏼
might be a new question, but when you go to "select color" you have the option of picking on a color wheel. mine just looks like a normal photoshop color picker. how do you enable the other color selection options?
Do you have an update to this process? If so can you make an update video? Thank you so much for sharing. I always look forward to your videos
Hello, is it possible to download this project for practice?
I guess I'm learning something but this color grading is way over my head!
Nah man, you got this. It's a lot easier than it looks 💯
thank you
You sir are a genius. Cheesey jokes, but hey they work. Thank you for this great advice
How did you add a duplicate node of the first clip?
thankyou somuch man i could litreally do this with free version just without the halation
🫡🙏🏻
se ve bastante bonito el malecon con esos efectos, arriba RD.
ths bro ❤
Please please help me editing
Telme thawinchi garhi cad required 😢
Do you guys know what font was used?
Question 🙋🏻♂️ why cant we add the exposure and correction after the CST and Compounded node? Thank you
👉🏻 czcams.com/video/sJE0IInpbOk/video.html
What's the text name in the intro?
Can you do all of this in the free version ?
was the third node a color space transform? my first time color grading and for some reason when i drag the lut to it it doesn't work :)
ah i think i got it - is it corrector?
Wooiwwwwww🎉😂❤
what command did you do to get the new nodes behind the first existing nodes
Option + S (on Mac) Not sure on Windows. Alt or Ctrl + S maybe?
This video is gold(en)! 🤣 Really helpful. One thing I never see in DaVinci Resolve tutorials is how to replicate the adjustments (node tree) to the other clips in the timeline. I often have 100 or more clips, anywhere from 2 seconds to 2 minutes in a timeline, often shot with multiple cameras. Do you have a quick and easy method for this? Is it as simple as selecting the nodes and doing a copy & paste?
👉🏻 czcams.com/video/zbw1zKA6Fl0/video.html
I place those clips below an adjustment clip, which carries all of the nodes and effects. That way, multiple videos are affected at once without having to copy/paste the nodes for every individual clip
@@stopthecap1 Yes, also this 👆🏻 Adjustment clips are🔥 💯
shit i lost at halanation, using free davinci. Do you have a tutorial on free one?
How to get retro serie vibe
Hey Joris, thanks for this, I wanted to ask if i can make this into a lut so i dont have to redo all the correction to halation for same style of videos...how i can reuse the nodes i created in this ,for other projects lmk!

@@JorisHermans ohh thank you Joris 🩵
@@challengedollar2880 most welcome! 🙏🏻💥
Hello, is there any way to remove previously installed effects? From the Effects section of Davinci? Completely remove them from the program?
Go to the Fusion page first, then to the Effects tab and now if right-click on an effect, you can choose "Show Folder"... and then just delete the file. But you have to go to the Fusion page first, doesn't work in the edit page.
@@JorisHermans I am very, very grateful to you, you are the only one who suggested it and everything worked out, I wish you happiness and health! I subscribe to you and will recommend you to my friends. You are the best!!!
Which product from MotionVFX did you use for the retro titles?
mTitle Film
Hello
Ineed footage log or raw free plz
Hope you are enjoying San Diego.
Yes 🔥
aww i need premium to use some of the effects..
How did you do those retro vhs frames?
THey're from MotionVFX but DR also has a few built in. I think the effect is called "Analog Damage". They're not as good as the MotionVFX ones, though.
@@JorisHermans thankies!
i expect something look like a Panavison 70 look ☹
My camera supports 10bit, my PC doest, kkk
early color
80s movie style next
Good idea actually 😬
And we don’t have a step on how to add the film frame effect around the image…
in future please provide raw footage for pracise humble request.
Good idea! 🙏🏻🔥
This video was recorded in the Dominican Republic.
First to comment, i deserve a gift
Just get a Fujifilm camera and you don’t need to worry 😊
You joking right?
@@yudiutama3233it's true lol my camera takes footage similar to this right out of camera
@@ItsGralexcan you please tell me which model your Fujifilm camera is?
