- The newest Minecraft Bedrock Edition featured server, Pixel Paradise, has been released, and the community's reaction to it has been... fairly negative. It's owned by InPvP, the same company that created Mineville City, and this hasn't helped their image at all, either. In this video, I break down the issues that I and many others have with the server, such as the disastrous launch day, the sub-par server minigames (like spleef and TNT run), and the fact that half of the server is pay-to-play (in the form of Islands and Volcano), with many pay-to-win microtransactions included in the games.

Hey! There's no need to hate on or harrass the staff/community of Pixel Paradise. Yes, you can offer criticism and explain WHY you dislike the server, but going to them and just being rude/straight up mean to them literally gets no one anywhere and just gives you a bad look. Please, be respectful and mature towards Pixel Paradise when talking to them about the server.

If I wanted to play spleef, I would load up the legacy console edition and play tumble there. It is more fun, nostalgic and has more players playing than everyone playing on the server

I'm fairly confident that I (someone with little command block experience) could recreate this server for the most part in less than 3 hours.
Spleef: make platforms of snow and /clone them into the play area, give everyone haste 10 and netherite shovels, and use testfor command blocks to reset it when only one person is left
tnt run: the same thing as spleef but one platform with tnt, sand, and pressure plates
island: build an island
volcano: have a block of stone, clone it with structure blocks and have about 10% of it be air, the /fill replace the air with coal
not that hard and the fact that ive now thought up of how to make even the paid games with command blocks is sad

Lol this video is so accurate and good, I’ve been waiting a while for a featured server to come out and it was a straight up a disappointment, I hope to see It get better in the future, but my hopes aren’t to high.

I can confirm they can be made in a single player world in less than an hour. Made spleef and tnt run a few months ago using command blocks to play with my friends

It seems they literally used command blocks to execute the gamemodes and there's like only 1000 servers for one region and it's so laggy. They just made this for profit, as it seems for now.

It seems like it was coded with command blocks. After hearing it was from inpvp, over a month before it came out, I said the spleef I literally made with command blocks would be better cause it’s not laggy. It is obviously a cash grab, and honestly, it’s going to die within a month. I do think that the devs did do what they were supposed to do, which is what you said on your stream. The buildings are the only thing that’s good in my opinion. However DONT bash on the staff. I still don’t like this server, and I said how it became a featured server when everyone was like “how did this become a featured server” cause of what you said. It’s a cash grab. I literally convinced one of my friends that the spleef that I made was downloaded off of the marketplace. And I think with the help of 2 of my irl friends, we could make a better pixel paradise. It wouldn’t be as laggy. One of my friends is extremely good at building, the other one is extremely good at command blocks, and I’m pretty decent at coding outside of minecraft, which can be put into minecraft. There are so many other servers that are more deserving, and I would rather play lifeboat.
Same. Even my friend and I make higher quality minigames than Pixel Paradise with Command Blocks. We're just 2 people, while these guys are literally several developers that are scripting.

The most hilarious part is Bedrock has miles more freedom than Java (mainly models and endorsement via Mojang itself), and yet Hypixel literally made an entire dungeon crawler, procedurally generated game in 1.8 vanilla.
When you said the free games could be coded on command blocks, I was like "Thank you, someone who shares this sentiment!" Not to mention these games wouldn't take more than, let's say, 100 blocks, whereas I'm used to working with easily 150 in a single map. Loved the vid btw.

I was able to make tnt run and spleef perfectly fine in my own world taking maybe 30 minutes each, and when I compared the pixel paradise vs mine my worked better and didn’t lag lol

The one thing I like about pixel parodies is that they include the easy to code games that many servers overlook, and me just seeing hypixel growing up, I’ve alwayed waited to play, the spleef and tnt run are simple but there a easy time killer, and very little servers don’t include because they know not many of hyperland type players want to play spleef. I do wish they serf over to at least a party games server, the closest thing that we have as bedrock players are the mineplex mine games (or whatever they are called)

I was there at the stream, I tried joining and I couldn’t even load in. I thought it was my Wifi but I could still play Hive so that’s what I did.
My server had 1K players and i have a bad wifi i rarely lag

Fun fact: Spleef was the first minigame I made with command blocks. Pixel Paradise's Spleef is the exact same thing as that first minigame
i played tnt run on this server, and when I joined the match was starting but the tnt was scattered around with no platform. And when the match started everyone was falling and the last person to reach the water at the bottom wins (that was the situation).
God tier explanations here. Yes the server is pretty trash at the moment, but I'm still hoping it gets better. So far, I'm not satisfied. Hoping things end up improving as there is always room for improvement in anything. Great explanation video here Potato

Hi I’m back I’ve been gone for a while and congrats on 50k
The only positive aspect of Pixel Paradise that I would like to see more of in the future is that there are “find xyz” /treasure hunter style quests. (To begin the first quest, talk to the coconut person hiding on the boat at spawn)
My friend joined the server and he said it sucked then I thought he likes pvp and there is probably not pvp in it. So I went on it thinking maybe they creators of mineville could actually make a good server. But when I joined I realised what he meant.
I played tnt run once and then got temp banned for a day for fly hacking after I selected slime kit and used the jump boost

The lag made me invisible in spleef and I got banned because of lag

It looked nice when I played it, but I wish there was a java version so I can bypass the paywalls like I did with Mineville. Also, the Volcano mode is fun, I like it since iy's different from the other prison type modes from different servers.

Volcano is literally prison but in a volcano. It says it has 9 mines but only 3 have been implemented so far. Also only 4 of the 15 relics have been implemented. So not only are you paying for trash, you're also paying for incomplete trash. Even lifeboat's prison gamemode is less P2P than this and that's sad.
Islands is obviously skyblock as you said... But its also sort of like hypixel's skyblock mode with the minions concept. Except you have to pay real money to get these (something that hypixel doesn't force you to do).
Hypixel doesn't force you to pay for anything actually, its actually pretty ironic, back when Mojang enforced their EULA in java edition, they actually caused servers to drop the pay to win features but when Microsoft bought Mojang, bedrock edition only received gigantic amounts of microtransactions rather than fair treatment.
And yeah, you're right. TNT run and Spleef are some of the simplest games to code. In fact here's how simple the gameplay is:
All spleef requires is the map generation and code to check if someone fell in lava or broke a block and to progress between snow and concrete blocks. The snow balls and snow breaking mechanics are already in minecraft. The reason we check for broken blocks is to transfer the items directly into players' inventories rather than drop them and even then, this might already be included in bedrock edition itself. When someone falls in lava, they lose. I'd estimate that this would take 200 lines of code for a competent dev to make the simple parts of the game work, the map generation and server creation are of course a lot more complicated, however its not like InPvp hasn't already created this technology. Code is reusable, if you already have something that works, YOU DON'T MAKE IT AGAIN.
For TNT Run the simplicity is roughly the same. Log every block the player is standing on and detect if they change position, remove the previous block. Detect if they fall in lava. Again, I'd say this doesn't take much effort to make at all.

yeah, i never want to see another inpvp server again, mostly because mc updates are yearly and getting a trash server means you have to wait another year hoping for a good server
This server feels like something I could make in a single player world in 2 days

The volcano thing took forever and once I was ready to go to the second mine after the first (stone mine), I had to pay with mine coins, all that 3 hours of mining stone for nothing
One problem with both tnt run and spleef is the lack of a lobby, and that games start immediately. some mobile players spend longer amounts of time on loading screens due to the power of their devices, which can kill mobile players before they even load into the game. This actually happened to me on spleef when trying it out, i couldnt even play.
I know there’s always room for change but this is going to be very difficult for them to change. I hope they learn from this because I don’t think it’s okay that you’re spending the price of 2 full Wendy’s meals on a Minecraft vip rank

The first mini game I made with command blacks was splief… the second game I made was tnt run.. if I could make these when I FIRST started out with command blocks then I think pixel paradise could do better… also as I might just add I was also working on a prisons map (which volcano is really just prisons from what I could see) and I had it all done except for the different mines which would’ve been easy… so yeah paradise could’ve done a whole lot more and did it a whole lot better
Tbh at first glance I thought the quests around the map were really cool, they encouraged exploration and it would add a level of roleplay and immersion to the lobby, something like Cubecraft's easter event but more permanent would be good to reel new players in.
All I got was the crappy pirate quest and running back and forth around the map to look for npcs, before I inevitably disconnected and had to restart the entire thing again.
At least the trident is enough to keep me entertained for 5 minutes.

but how can you fly out of the barriers on the spliff maps in observer mode, or who has a powerful device and maximum drawing can fly to another map the spliff is the most normal there
I tried playing in “Volcano” on Pixel Paridise and I spent like 30 minutes playing then the game completely froze, blocks wouldn’t break, other players weren’t moving I had to close the game to get out. I don’t know if it’s just me. Did this or something similar happen to anyone else?

Hello. I wanted to just put this out there. As a female Minecraft player, I am not attracted to playing on Pixel Paradise whatsoever. I'm aware that the "female demographic" doesn't apply to me but here's the thing. Minecraft is a sandbox game with so many different types of players, no matter their gender. I for one, am a die heart Skywars and Bedwars player, whilst one of my friends is a creative builder, and another is a roleplayer. Trying to aim for a female demographic doesn't help the server out whatsoever, because not every single female that plays Minecraft enjoys roleplaying and games that could easily be created on a world with command blocks. I have a bunch of female friends who play Minecraft, and from what I see Pixel Paradise's games don't apply to any of them, but yet we're the target demographic? I saw someone do an interview (I think it was DieciesYT but I'm unsure) with a dev at Pixel Paradise, and they said that they "had focus groups and girl gamers come in to see what people want" and unless they hand picked a very specific type of player for said focus groups, I'm sure people didn't want these cheap game modes as well as in-game purchase after in-game purchase. No hate to Pixel Paradise though.

Bedrock is cool,but I don't know what the best server software is and i'd say bedrock is better,at least from what I see you could practically recreate modded minecraft using plugins(al tho I still will stay on java for some time)

This server is literally the definition of a cash grab.
I was honestly excited to see the number "7" in the server tab a few weeks ago, and it was cool to know that Microsoft and MJS were willing to add more servers to the base game without having to purchase the expanded version to play on custom IPs (this being the desktop and mobile versions of the game, which are basically the same thing in terms of sofware structure)
I was kinda disappointed to see the server turn out as it did after I joined it for the first (and currently only) time, with all the stuff being locked behind a paywall LARGER THAN MINECRAFT ITSELF
But hey, who knows? Maybe in the future they'll rise further upward like Galaxite did after a few months :)

I had low expectations because I heard that it was owned by those from InPVP. I first went onto island expecting it to be like Mineplex’s creative housing.
Wrong! It’s basically a copy of lifeboat’s skyblock. A hub island, with a portal that you can’t get in and will send you back 50 blocks unless you get a pass which cost money and minions that probably cost more than the island itself.
Then I went to volcano(which is just prison) and expected it to be blocked off like mineville’s prison unless you pay money but it wasn’t and then I grinded for 1000 shells to level up and guess what? You have to pay actual money to get to the second mine.
Good advice: never expect anything good from InPVP. I don’t have good expectations on their upcoming games either
