just bought one today and im so dang happy to finally have a turntable that doesn't skip all my records 😁
Hey! can you help me. I need to know if you have a cheap turntable (like a crosley or something like that) and it skips your records and then change it to an audio technica. I want to know, if the vinyl will keep skipping?
Yeah, getting one for that reason
@@micaelasepulveda8691 i got mine and it stopped skipping
@@micaelasepulveda8691 sorry for the late reply but no they won't keep skipping if ya switch to a Audio Technica
@@lilteddiursa do you need speakers for it?
“It’s defenitly not a good idea to measure your happiness level in terms to physical possessions.” 🤭 I love that Recordology. 🙌🏽
Love this turntable. One feature that is very pleasing is that when it stops the turntable returns to its original position. So the mat stays straight and the record label finishes the right way up (if you place it that way). Great for my OCD!
I never knew it did that but makes sense why it always spins for so long after it resets the arm, thanks for the info.
I think it might have just been a coincidence. For me it never stops in the same place.
Very interesting comment. In all the time I have utilized the LP5 x, I have never noticed that but that does make sense.
@@isaac_smith In that case, the speed is probably too fast or too slow or your LP 5, might have a (perhaps mild) wow and flutter disfunction
A week ago I received this turntable and I am still very excited, it is my first turntable. And I have to confess that I made it work by watching your video. Even i was reading bad comments by these audio ''pros'' but seriously don't care too much, I really love it.
the arm drops much slower than the original LP60. That is a great improvement.
I’ve always been into Vinyls, but now I’m fully committed after my parent’s bought me my favorite album in vinyl. I love your channel! Very underrated! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much!
what's your favorite album??
mine came with headphones. i got it at a bookstore where i live and i love it so much and it works much better than my old suitcase crosley. highly reccomend!!! and affordable!!!!
Correction: You CAN play 10 inch records on this, it just doesn't support the "Start" button as the needle won't drop at the beginning of the record. You have to make sure the needle is up, manually move it to the beginning of the record/song, and then lower the needle via the button. A bit more work, but it works perfectly.
I heard this too. I want to get this. So it can start semi auto if you move the needle and it stays up and then you press start, it doesn't just fall down onto the record?
@@johnb2422 there’s a needle up and down button, make sure the needle is up and move it to whereever you want to start it.
Or you can just lift the tone arm and place it wherever you want. The record will start spinning automatically…. No need to press any buttons.
I have the LP120, and have loved it! Just got the LP60xbt for my mom for Mother’s Day! This one seems great for those who just want to play their old records without all the fuss!
Just bought this today and I’m in love.
Dang, they improved the style for sure! Love the new sleek dust cover
It is cool...very good design.
I bought this turntable a few months ago and I love it! I paired mine with a set of old speakers from the '70s and It sounds phenomenal!
Do these have preamps or are you using an external one? I just got one yesterday and am using a LG 700 watt rms HiFi mini system. CM4550 to be exact. Sounds ok. Definitely want to get a tube preamp and some nice bookshelf speakers
Great video! I've been researching this table as a Christmas gift for my 14 year old daughter, who I'm trying to get into vinyl. I'm fairly convinced this is the most economical vs quality turntable at a starter price point. Certainly lightyears better than a Crosley Cruiser. I love how this is automatic as well, as 14 year olds aren't known for being gentle on electronics. lol
This would be my pick as well...
It's not a 'starter point' or 'entry level' thing, it's an excellent record player & if your ears like it, then that's all that matters. Too much audiophile snobbery goes on in this audio world. Now, buying a good amp does matter & that can make a difference, but a good price is a good price & if you enjoy listening to it's sound, then have a quiet laugh at the audiophiles spending 1,000s on crazy turntables.
It’s awesome! I just brought it today and waiting for delivery to me. So happy to see your introduction
What a great demonstration of this record player. I love your demo track selections as well. Keep up the great work and keep on groovin'.
Thank you very much!
Your description and review were clear and concise. Using the info you shared, I was able to troubleshoot the “fuzz” I was getting on my LP’s
Awesome!
I know this is 6 months old but I bought one yesterday and it sounds great with my nearly vintage system my system is about 27 years old and it still works great
Just get a jvc L-F41
Been searching the past few days for a new turntable and your videos have been SO SO helpful! Thank you for all the info and enthusiasm! This is the one i'm going with and i couldnt be more excited.
Thank you! Great choice!
I HAVE THIS TURNTABLE SINCE APRIL 23RD 2020. I BOUGHT IT AT MICROCENTER IN BROOKLYN NY. I LOVE THIS TURNTABLE AND AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT.
@Ludwig Vaillancourt it does not come with speakers. You’d have to purchase them separately. From what I’ve seen online, the pair from Edifier is supposed to be decent.
Caps lock is on homie.
We got ours a few days ago fantastic value for money, excellent quality and sound 👌 👏
i recently bought AT-LP60 XS BPT, it sounds good and plays great!!
Great budget turntable and tone arm is spot on
I ordered this turntable I love it so much I I couldn't be more happier
I like the recessed button controls in the front looks very industrial and modern Audio Technica did a very good job redesigning this unit
Just picked up one today! Can't wait for it to come in
Hope you enjoy it!
I was today years old when I found out that Elvis also covered Something 😳
Its a great cover too - what do you think of it?
@@Recordology I love how he turned it into his own song. He truly captured the spirit of the song. It was beautiful :')
Thanks so much for the video! I was debating between the 60 and 60X and this pretty much cemented my choice. Bought it on Amazon right after watching this, can't wait to get it
Awesome!
I got the LP60 and my girlfriend has the LP60XBT. I'm kinda jelly of her's because of that slow dropping tonearm haha!
After some extensive research, I decided that this was the best record player for me to start out with. I just purchased it on their official website and I can’t wait for it to come in!!!
On my old LP 60, the belt wore out exceptionally quick. So I already upgraded after only having it for about 2 years. I now own a Crosley C100
Just bought one and having a classic 90s panasonic stereo (SA-AK17) that my dad gave me, it will be an amazing combo especially with the fact that this Panasonic has great speakers that sound fantastic even on CD.
Picked up my Crosley C100 based on your review. If I ever decide to go fully automatic this just might be the best option. Great review again!
Awesome thanks for the comment!
I'm pleased to hear you like this turntable, as I recently bought one. I just finished watching a video that proclaimed this unit to be a piece of garbage that should be discarded immediately. They claim the tone arm will grow heavier and heavier over time until it will finally destroy your records after four or five plays, which sounds like sixties stoner shit to me (remember "wet playing" or the theory that the stylus raises the temperature of the vinyl at the contact point to 1400 degrees or something like that?) Thanks for assuring me that I'm not a complete idiot. Hope you can find time to reply.
Love the vid. i was looking for a record player to purchase and this video helped my decision. very happy with the record player so far!
You can Play ten Inch Recorder on this Turntable , but only manual . If necessary, you can Uwe the Up sind down Button to Put the Tonearm in the right position
The is the best "cheap" turntable for a first timer! It actually sounds great if you dont intend to break the bank. Plus it's really easy to use.
It's not cheap in its construction but is a great price. Let your ears do the talking.
So helpful, thank you!!!!
Great video and some pretty nifty camera angles! I have the bluetooth version of this player and love it. There's just something about putting on a record and taking the time to enjoy it.
Agreed!
Perfect video! I've just bought one online and I'm so anxious waiting for.
Great review as always!
Thank you!
It's good to see that they finally made a decent, albeit short, handle on the headshell. The angled thing on other similar TTs is really awkward.
Agreed!
Ordered one as a bedroom turntable then this came up lol. Sweet
Great review. Helped a lot to decide which one to get.
Thanks for the video! You explained everything very well I’m going to get this one 😀
Thank you for the kind words.....
Santa just gave us an AT-LPGO-BT, which looks just like that, except it also features Bluetooth capability. Otherwise it appears to be exactly the same as what you showed. So far, I really like it! The felt, platter mat has a different design printed on it.
I have the Bluetooth version of this turntable and I'm pleased with it.
Best review ever
Thank you.
I had the Bluetooth model before I upgraded to the lp120 and I loved it. It definitely is a great starter.
topher I’m thinking of buying the Bluetooth model. Were you happy with it? Could you pair it to Bluetooth speakers, headphones or a sound bar?
This Really Is So Awesome,i had to watch and comment for a third Time,a year on...Just one question..How do you go about Not playing a record on this Wonderful Creation ? Just steaming ours up,ready to Rock !!!
I bought this turntable last week. I love it.
just caught this before going to work..(Royal Mail postman)......its brilliant.....am expecting arrival of that replacement soundmaster system with the audio technica stylus end of the week...was refunded by amazon for the first one within one day...amazing.....before they even got the damaged one back.....but yes, this system above looks great, nice to see the easy way of setting up and the way the belt goes on,and the fully automatic functions are just great....all the best..ade
Thank you for watching!
best review for this turntable. thanks! just correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only thing missing was the stylus needle instructions
You are correct
Thanks friend
I’m so excited for mine to come in! The best review video I have seen on this piece. Thank you! Do you recommend any affordable speakers to connect this with?
Thank you....I would look at the Crosley S100's.
Thanks for the vid man! Super helpful. Im hyped to get my LP60X in!!!
Have fun!
I just ordered mine! So excited! 😁
Hope you enjoy it!
i just upgraded to this i love it
I bought my turntable used in 1993 from my brother for $200 and have been using it ever since. The model I have is a Technics 1200 mark II. I know they do not sell for that cheap, but my brother stoped being a DJ.
I've used mine for about two weeks now and it hasn't skipped once
Thank you for this video! I was wondering how to play a specific song 😊
I have the bluetooth version love it! 💋
I absolutely love mine
Have yous seen VWestlife's video comparing the LP60 to the LP60X? He goes into some great detail.
Just ordered mine! This video was great!
Awesome! Thank you!
I got my ATLP60X at Best Buy for $79 about a week ago...yay Black on Black.
The only problem so far is a slight tapping noise (ever so slight) when the tonearm is at the end of playing an LP or 45. I believe it is the return mechanism waiting to "catch" the tonearm for its auto return. It doesn't affect playback performance.
Hmmm haven't heard of that before...
@@Recordology it's very hard to distinguish, and one wouldn't notice if the music is playing. You'd have to mute the sound. I may have to return the turntable.
I updated from a modified version of the ATLP60 in 2004. The tonearm didn't align correctly any longer. Pitch was way off, sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks
buffalo gals wont you come out tonight hahahahhaa !!! someones jelly
Just bought one to replace my old LP60 that decided to die on me, anyway great review my friend!
Thank you!
Nice review. I'm looking at this AT-LP60X and the Crosley C100A-SI to buy for my 14 year old Grandson. He wants to get into vinyl. It looks like you reviewed both of these. Would you recommend one over the other? Thanks for any info.
Lp60x. But it will require powered speakers. Thank you so much for the nice comment!
Amazing video, It shows every function and it answered my biggest question and concern: If It plays just like the original song or is recommended to get a sound adjusting pitch? I'm very choosy with tones but right now I can't afford an expensive turntable. Now i'm convinced and this is the one that I want to replace my old turntable, thanks!
Also check out the LP3 from AT.
I wish they would do a version with headphone socket and bluetooth
They do amzn.to/3sXsVaq (Bluetooth) amzn.to/3dRL9DZ (headphones)
The ATLP60 is very similar to my aiwa pxe850. The part that houses the needle came off when I was changing the needle. I dont think it's supposed to do that 😢
Hey! great video! But I can't help notice the buzz sound at 10:49 when you touched the spindle. Well, I know for sure it's about the ground thing. Of course you shouldn't keep touching parts of the turntable while it's playing but this kind of thing is a big concern in sound matters. I had some issues with ground in my system, it's all solved now by the way. My question is: there is a ground link between the cartridge and the output conection and how it pass through the pre amp?
It was a bad mic I was using.....no fault of the turntable.
This is a great record player
Thanks for a great review. Would you say this turntable AT-LP60XBT is better then the Sony PSLX310BT?
Thanks for watching and commenting! I think it would be close but I haven't yet tested the Sony.
I have the blue tooth version coming tomorrow, my First two LPs are Nirvana Unplugged And Amy Whinehouse Back To Black, looks like its going to be an awesome cheap but good sounding player 👍
Great video! Can you please share the dimentions of the box and the approximate gross weight? I'm thinking of buying it outside of my home country and I want to check if I can travel with it in my suitcase. Thanks in advance!
Mines just came in 😍😊
I have the Bluetooth one and after adjusting the speed a bit it’s the best turntable I’ve personally ever owned
I am getting one soon! question, can i use just edifier R1280T speakers and the turntable itself? i don’t need anything else right? nice video by the way!
Yes, absolutely
Hi there, I was wondering if there were any small speakers that would pair well with this turntable that you recommend. Unfortunately I live in a small apartment where space is very limited. Also, I was thinking of buying a pair Edifier R1280T with the turntable, thoughts?
I bought two albums on vinyl the other day from my favorite artist and I’ve been wanting to get a vinyl record player that’s not too expensive or that won’t ruin my vinyl records. Is this perfect? This one only needs speakers right?
Correct!
So I originally was gonna go with the Victrola 6 in 1, but after picking up my first records I got impatient and bought a crosley at my walmart. But now I just put in my order for the lp60x!
Cool you will love it.
@@Recordology I've already noticed a significant improvement in the preamp compared to the crosley I bought due to impatience. Don't worry though, I returned it the day my LP60X arrived
@@Recordology I've got these cheap 10 dollar computer speakers until I can buy proper ones, and my records sound surprisingly good with them thanks to the preamp
@@Recordology Any recommendations on upgrades for it? carts, mats, speakers etc?
For the lp60x the cart is fixed / non removable but comes equipped with a diamond stylus and is of good design so you should be fine. The mat is all personal preference. I will be doing a side by side video soon with sound test comparing all different platter mats. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Well time to save up for this!
Thank you!
After extensive listening over the span of approximately 18 months to the Audio-Technics LP 5x, I have come to definitely realize I prefer the sonic qualities rendered by the LP5x when the included rubber mat is utilized.
Interesting.....
@@Recordology I am glad you thought my comment was interesting. I want you to know somehow my comment went to the wrong place although I also want you to know, I frequently watch your videos and according to your description of your personal taste in phonographs, the Audio-Technica AT LP 5x would be the almost perfect phonograph for you. I said "almost perfect" because while the LP 5 x does. seem to have an accurate electronic speed monitoring system, it does not have a "pitch slider." The LP 5x is a manual phonograph.
I owned the Audio-Technica AT LP 120 for approximately 20 years (the original one) and from those many years of experience with the LP 120 I am able to tell you the sonic quality of the LP 5x is better (overall more sonically revealing and realistic) compared to the original AT LP 120. I do not know the LP 5x compares to the LP7 because I have never heard the LP 7 in person directly. However, I do know the LP7, the LP5x and the LP 2022 phonographs are the only Audio-Technica phonographs listed on the Audio-Technica website under the audiophile category. I have a shibata stylus on my LP 5 x which causes the already superb sound quality to be even better.
@@Recordology Thanks for you reply. To be clear, I prefer the rubber mat that came with the LP5x in comparison to a cork mat, a felt mat and that mat made from a type of plastic but l forget the name of that mat right now
Whatever the name, the mat was a thin one, I wondered if I would like the sound caused by a thicker one?
Yeah this table punches way above it's class. I have the older Audio Technica AT-PL50 that I purchased from a Goodwill for $8 which is basically the same turntable, just cosmetically slightly different. These tables are also so simple and straightforward in design, they are a breeze to repair..
Really? What have you had to repair?
One thing I do want to ask, it seems like this turntable is pretty good for beginners, but if you need to change the needle in future do better or same version of it, can it be done?, if something breaks, as example the cartridge, you cant change that, then you need to buy a another turntable, I think this turntable is okay for the price and for the beginners as me, but I do believe that a change to a better turntable atleast after 1 year uses this is a good idea in my opinion.
Great video, thank you! Just one question, what is the needle made out of?
Diamond
Hi! I have a question, maybe you can help me. I'm a noob in vinyl so I really don't know anything about it. I was considering getting this turntable as my first, but I read that this doesn't get along with old vinyls that might be a bit bended or damaged over time "because the arm doesn't have a counterweight". Is this true? Should I get maybe the AT 120x? I plan to get both new records and old used records! Thank you very much for your help.
This will work just fine
@@Recordology thank you! Then Ill get it. So excited!
Hi I’m a starter. What speakers do you recommend for a turntable that’s under $100?
Hmmm - the Crosley S100's are what I use but they are 199. Good question for the community.
Record-ology thank you
I use the edifier r980t
Hi there,
This turntable is works well with Pioneer DM-40 Speakers? Thanks for the great video. Cheers from Brazil!!
It should. Thank you for you nice comment!
thanks you much for the review. i have ordered this turntable. when will I have to replace the needle? will logitech z623 computer speakers work well with this? is target a good place to get records?
Yes to all.....the needle should last a year or two.
Hello. Awesome video! Question: Do you know if this turntable has an auto return tonearm? So when the record is done playing, it’ll return by itself..? This video is a little old but I hope you can help. Thanks!
Any recommendations of, small, and cheap speakers? I am really wanting to buy the LP60x, but I can't seem to find some affordable and small-sized speakers.
I recommend the Crosley S100's...great speakers.
very nice unit,i own an LP60 and have been very with it but this looks like a good upgrade? thanks
Its a great unit. Thank you for watching!
Hi, Loved the video. I'm looking into purchasing this particular turntable. I was wondering how consistant the speed is and if I would need to do any speed adjustments out of the box? This will end up being my first turntable.
Just bought this for my daughter as her first introduction turntables. It plays great, seems accurate in my opinion regarding its speed. We listened to several records of different genres and did not hear any inconsistencies. I did not use a strobe disc though to check this did not feel like it was required. I don’t believe there’s a adjustment function on this model to fine tune the speed level unlike my Music Hall mmf-1.5
Hi @record-ology, I hope you still read comments on these old videos and can help me out! I'm looking to get my feet wet in the turntable world and I'm stuck between the AT-LP60XBT (~$219 currently) or the AT-LP3XBT (~$300 currently) -- I know you've reviewed both. I'm curious which you'd recommend as a first time buyer. From what I've read, the base board is relatively the same on each, just with some upgraded accessories (cart, stylus, head, weight adjustment, etc.). Is the sound quality drastically different? Is it worth the $80 for a first time buyer? For added context, I likely wouldn't do any additional upgrades for years. Hope ya see it, thanks!!
Super video
Which turntable would you recommend for a beginner, The at-LP60X or the Lenco L-3808? Thanks
The lp60x is great
Love your review and would really appreciate your thoughts. I like the AT LP 60X mainly caused its priced within my budget and baised on the reviews its seems good but then the Pioneer PLX 500 poped up and seemed a good option as its almost similar to the AT LP 120.I am new to this field but looking for something thats long lasting ,that being said i dont mind pushing the budget a bit . Whats your take on it .
I would start with the lp60x.....does it all!
Thank you for answering that just one more thing the stylis is changable right incase it wares off.
