You know what I find amazing, that some of the drivers of these dashcams are terrible at anticipating hazards.

Totally agree. They don't know the definition of hazard perception. They intentionally put their boot down when they see a car ahead entering from a minor road. I'd say their tongues are hanging a foot out of their mouths pissing saliva with their chins resting in top of the steering wheel.
Some of them put in the minimal amount of effort when it comes to avoiding accidents
I don't even think it's anything to do with the camera to be honest. More that there's a huge proportion of drivers on our roads who have no awareness of what's going on around them or what might be about to happen.
Chris M you do realise while shouting at the van driver and furiously reading his number plate aloud you completely cut off the red car you overtook
that is because he had to slow down because of the van, plus at a merge point you cannot cut some one up

You MUST speed up and kill or injure the bird and possibly break something plastic or glass on your car or get blood on your car or bits of bird in inaccessible areas and £'s in repair 'bills' just so that SpiderMaquire can get to his destination 2 seconds sooner!
The silly bastard is heading out of Ashford towards some leafy villages where eventually the speed limit becomes super slow anyway. Loads of roundabouts and turns. 2 or 3 miles further up the road from where this clip was taken is a corner where maybe 30 cars a year end up in a ditch because they drive like SpiderMaguire.
Well, highway code does say to not slow down for animals as slowing down causes crashes. So if you slow down because of a bird or some animal and someone goes into the back of you... guess what... you're at fault.

@@TriToGame Chris actually cut up the red car. If you watch it again he was going to merge behind the red car as he was behind it but as soon as he notices the van he tries to obstruct the van and at the same time cuts up the red car.

Who actually does an e-stop for a friggin bird, and seagull at that? They are vermin, and cause no damage to a car when hit.
I am to ill to drive anymore, but I think those dash cams are a bloody marvellous innovation for vehicles and have saved so many drivers from being vilified by false claims against them. I just ordered a kit for my grandsons car. Keep up the good work people and watch out for those arseholes on the road who have no common sense.

The pedestrian has priority because he was already crossing.
And before anyone tries claiming that the red man was showing... there is no such thing as jaywalking in Britain... so red man or not, the pedestrian still has priority!

There is no situation ever where a driver can run over a pedestrian and claim it was their priority and the pedestrian should not have been there.
Pedestrians have priority at all times regardless of anything else. You can randomly step into the road at any point, it doesn't matter if there is a crossing, or if the traffic lights are green or whatever. The pedestrian has priority according to the law.
The only time a driver can get away with running over a pedestrian is in that extreme circumstance where they just randomly throw themselves in front of you and there is literally nothing you could have done about it.
That's just how the law is.

Paragraphs 21 & 22 seem pretty clear to me. “when the red figure shows, do not cross”.
Regardless of priority, the pedestrian shouldn’t have been there.
Actually, Because the ped was Already crossing(there was no traffic crossing his path as he started to cross the road), Chris M should have stopped and let ped cross right OR wrong.
Alex at 5.27. Why did you accelerate so hard to close the gap to prevent the flatbed entering the dual carriageway. Just let it in and chill instead of nearly causing an accident. Anticipation is a wonderful thing that will nearly always prevent situations like the one you put yourself in.

8.10 Ryan in the comments you might not like the rule but if a pedestrian has started to cross a street you are turning into then it is THEY who have priority. The fact you had a green light does not matter as, contrary to popular belief, green does NOT mean go.

Doesn't matter, if you are turning from a major road onto a minor even if there is a crossing the pedestrian has the right of way. It is in the highway code.
1999 Ford Focus the lights do not matter....in UK law there is no offence of Jaywalking. There is however a RTA law relating to pedestrians who have started to cross a road into which you are turning. It is they who always have priority. Even if vehicular traffic has a green light it does not mean go....here is what green means in UK traffic law.........
GREEN means you may go on if the way is clear. Take special care if you intend to turn left or right and give way to pedestrians who are crossing

Pailhead33. Technically Jinit S went through a green light but by the time the Peugeot got moving (after stalling) the light had turned red again and so they should have remained where they were until the green light again.

The camera car legally entered the junction as his exit wasn't obstructed. So other traffic must give way to him before entering junction.

5:37 "He didn't even indicate" Yes, he should have been indicating but was it really a surprise when they merged into the lane at the end of the slip road?! The bigger question is why bother nailing it to close the gap in the first place? Slow week for uploads?
Cammer would probably say 'there was space for truck to pull on behind me'. Well that also means you had space to slow down with no one up your arse and could've let them in safely.
Think what he was actually saying was "Get thee behind me, thou loser, and know thy place!"
This 'slip road' on the M32 is actually a crawler lane, and as such is incredibly long, providing that van driver with a good few hundred yards of room to manoever onto the main carriageway. There was absolutely no need for that van to still be in that lane at that point.
The road is there, tarmac and all so might as well use it..! Who knows, if more people used sliproads in their entirety traffic might flow better across the network..!

Voting 2:27 tddmw for TOTW - aggressive, discourteous driving just to try and get a clip.
Try concentrating on reading the road and acting appropriately; you could see the Vauxhall coming for ages, would even have been faster overall to just slow down, let them through, then continue on your way. This is how 99% of other, better, drivers would have reacted.
Actually no, there was a gap the car could have and should have pulled into so tddmw was completely right in doing what he did and you shouldnt just let people force their way through, they need to learn.
I originally thought the other car was fine at first but then inspected it a bit more closely. There is a large gap that the car comes to the start of when tddmw is in sight and very close to the area. The other car just forced his way through that last bit instead of moving over which was the wrong move.
@@jollyscarecrow Clearly tddmw's driving is poor for the situation - he could see the oncoming vehicle in good time but failed to react to it. The other driver possibly could have given way but didn't - tddmw failed to anticipate that.
I agree with Patrick - there was a great big gap which would have been much safer for the oncoming vehicle to tuck into.

owning a Audi isnt something i'd brag about (personally) but still in theory even a 50cc is faster than any car on daily roads now as the amount of traffic we have, so while somebody is sitting in standing traffic in their £1.000.000 car that little 50cc is filtering all the way home :) dump the overpriced over rated cars (AUDI's), get a bike, lighten the road traffic and have more fun :)
What programs do people use to crop and edit their videos, I try to edit the clips I have on my dashcam but I ain't paying an lot of money for an editing program just to edit a clip to 5-10 seconds.... Any help appreciated.

i don't know why, considering how many of these videos i've watched, but it still amazed me the number of people who seemingly have no idea what the correct use of a horn/flashing their lights is and how many people seem to think that the person who did "something" to them and is now nowhere near can hear you shouting at them in your car.
Last one, before people blame the cammer. Cammer had NOT run the red light and they were allowed to complete their turn. Other traffic should've been decent enough to let cammer turn, otherwise they'd have been stuck in the middle and could've held up other traffic. People need to be more patient.

Technically they should give way to traffic that's still in the intersection even if their light has turned green. I can understand the rev if a person actually ran the light, but waiting to turn, you should be courteous

5:15 Yes, ideally they would have slotted in behind you, but you clearly saw what they were doing due to the fact that you stepped on the accelerator trying to drag race them, unless you're trying to get hit just let them merge.

Probably something I missed, but at 5:20 it seems like Alex speeds up for no reason and keeps accelerating while a van, that could've easily fitted in the gap that was there before Alex sped up, wants to merge. Was there a reason or was het just bore and thought it would be fun?
