My grandpa has one that stopped moving about a year ago. I was able to completely repair it because it turned out everything just had split gears and the belt wore down on the spinning hand. Easier repair than what I anticipated
Just bought this today at a yard sale for $10. Currently working to fix it. My square shaft gear is completely snapped in half and I need to resolder the snowflake lights.
Amazing work my man - the one I've just bought doesn't really spin, he still moves his hand and the lights light up, they spin a bit but don't do the full circular motion. I think I am going to leave rather than try to risk by attempting a repair.
Dude great video! Love the attention to detail i wish i had the balls to cut the wire. I just worked on mine and it was really uncomfortable to work with the wires attached. My square shaft was broken, so i 3d printed one which fit perfectly and seems to work for the most part but the hat arm doesn’t go all the way up, it stops near his face and gets hit with the spinning snowflakes. Do you know what could be causing this issue? I looked for replacement square shaft gears but they are all 3d printed ones.
@@tylerx71animatronics76 oh wow, i had no idea. I tried 2 different new belts. I also ran it on batteries and wall power. Haven’t tried the 6v yet though might give that a shot.
I think mines motor burned out in the spinning arm, because it’s not spinning but I can’t hear any ticking in the gear box in the arm and I can manually move his arm around it doesn’t get stuck.
@tyle 19:00 rx71animatronics76 Hi hun. I just bought another to replace the one I've had since they came out in 2002.... I was amazed it lasted 18 YEARS..... MY Son grew up Loving it, & my Grandson Loved it until it finally died 4 years ago... The one I purchased the hat arm does not work (imagine that... lol...) The person I bought it from refuses to refund my money.. So I'm desperately trying to get it fixed so my Grandson & I can continue to enjoy it... Do you still fix these??? Are your prices reasonable that a Grandma could afford??? If so, please help.... Than you... GOD BLESS.......
This is just so cozy it's just so amazing. Good content to watch when on the toilet and your constipated.

3:03 Yeah that’s definitely a split gear

Happened to some even when they were new in stores. It’s common. Try brand new batteries, or a 6V 2A adapter. If still happening, try a new belt

Do you have an email or something that we could contact you about your repairs. I may need your services in the future. Thanks in advance

I put higher tooth gears on the motor shaft
