  • In the land of smiles, 250cc is considered a big bike! Check out this entirely normal, average sized Honda Dealership in Bangkok, Thailand. Prices only supplied in Thai Baht as the currency value changes so often.

    I only put Thai prices due to currency values changing regularly. Google will convert those numbers to your local currency with a quick search.

    Great walkthrough of what they have on hand there. This is the classic Bangkok dealership. There are tons of these all over the city, and then there will be even more resellers set up in shop houses and stuff.

      Yeah I love the amount of options available. I’m a fan of the near new shops. 1-2 year old bikes and someone else has taken the hit from the dealership already.

    The variety and pricing is so much better in Thailand. Great walk through, love the Honda part number tyres. Apparently my wife now wants a blue Scoopy.

    I'm surprised how many CVT models are offered. I like that Click 125 with the spoked wheels. Are underbones becoming less popular these days?

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  Před rokem +1

      Underbones are still wildly popular. They’re definitely the workhorses. But the step through styles are so common as the family wagon. The foot well is free storage space.

    Thanks for making the video ,.. I go over to Thailand every winter for three months , my brother just bought a condo in Phuket and instead of renting a scooter I was thinking of buying one , I’ve been looking on Facebook marketplace at used pcx 160s , and shockingly your video showed me that there’s not much of a price difference in buying new . Do you know if there’s a go to dealer that known for the best prices ?

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  Před 8 hodinami

      Pricing is the same dealer to dealer really. Biggest thing would be finding a dealer you can easily converse with and has a good reputation for follow up maintenance. Big brands CAN have good mechanics but just as easily might not.

    Just curious what kind of bikes culture are there back at NZ?
    For sure it's isn't moped right?
    Do a full episode on it or.. I might just missed if you done it

      New Zealand license categories have shaped the bike scene here a lot. We have. learner, restricted then full license classes for motorcycle. When I was a kid, learners was 250cc max but these days it’s based on power to weight ratio. So you can have a MT07 - 700cc Yamaha on your learners license. This means small underbones and 125-150cc twist and go scooters aren’t super popular. There is a big custom bike culture here which is cool. I’ve never made an overall video of the culture here but I’ll do one for you as soon as I can.

      @@SmallBikeStuff in malaysia the road tax and insurance are categorized by ccs and engine capacity. That's why here small bikes and small capacity engines are super popular with mopeds and scooters.
      You could imagine the cost of owning bigger ccs would rise sharply with each category.

    You live in Thailand quite a long time eh? Understandable because there is a lot of new motorcycles released there. Was the lodging cheap there?

      I’m now based in New Zealand. I only lived there for two years. I always head back whenever I get the chance and this was one of this trips. You can get by on about $1000USD a month for everything - but it’s a meagre existence usually. Some will say it’s easy. But it does limit things. Depends where of course.

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The Click 160 and PCX160 are different machines but have the same engine. PCX first came out as a 125 and then a 150.

      @@SmallBikeStuff so is the new PCX 160 available in only one variant or can you have a upgrade on the standard PCX 160 Iam going to purchase one in Thailand 🇹🇭 over the coming weeks just so when I get in to the dealers I know what to expect thanks 🙏

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@bluemoon5761 ah I see what you mean. Forgive the previous comment - To clarify the Click and the PCX are two entirely different models and just share the engine. The PCX is a physically bigger scooter.
      If you are buying the PCX160 new from a dealer there is only one type. Just different colours. I highly recommend sitting on it first and see what you think about the feeling (I love them but they aren’t perfect for all body shapes/height) - I also recommend sitting on a Yamaha NMAX 155 - the main competitor to the PCX. Good luck with the purchase! You can message me on Facebook or Instagram at Small Bike Stuff if you want to chat more about the bikes.
