Small Bikes are our passion, but what exactly is a Small Bike? Is it based on physical size? Engine Capacity? Well, for us it’s based on a feeling. ‘Small’ in this case can be a reference to the knowledge of a particular bike around the world, it can mean size, it can mean engine capacity, it can mean anything you like. While we generally focus on smaller capacity bikes with large enthusiast communities; we truly appreciate all things on 2 wheels.

Very similar to a bike i had called Jupiter 5 Russian built
My favorite little bike of all time. Will never forget 😢
The engine on this bike is kinda crazy cause it’s not the old 17w engine that was on previous liquid cooled 50cc Yamahas and it’s not the European am6 engine either of the newer 50cc Yamahas. Especially with the electric start only and the and the way the the cylinder mounts to the engine. This is some oddball design I wish they kept 🥲
They sold sticker 'pangkah kuat'😂😂..
Great video guys, watched it sitting here in Singapore. I've been to many of those spots and ridden around Malaysia, so I will have to try into Thailand now. Also loved the Lazer Kiwi flag. I'll look out for some of those stickers and for the next ride announcement! 🥝
Quite surprising to see one of these out in NZ! Not many 640s around in general, here in Slovakia it's mostly 634s and 638s. A note on the shifter lever clutch function, You can get going on it, when the shifter lever is at the end of it's range the clutch is fully disengaged and you can slowly let go of it as you would the hand lever. You only truly need the hand lever to change gears while stopped. Quite funny seeing a lot of the 634 parts on there, completely different styling of the bike. Another thing that might surprise you is the clutch is on the gearbox input shaft instead of the crank. The disc brake is a second generation part but it is still an absolute afterthought. The 640 is also one of the very few Jawa/ČZ bikes with 1st gear down, they only switched to the wrong layout in the early 80s, pretty much all of them before were 1st gear up. The shifter ratchet mechanism is identical between them so it's super easy to swap between the older/newer models. Your 1st gear is surprisingly long, in general these had a super short 1st gear to climb through challenging terrain, back in the day they were considered a road bike but realistically road bike of back then is a dualsport today, the agricultural comment really describes that aspect quite well! The only more offroad-ey ones other than straight up competition machines(ČZ MX, Jawa flattrackers) you could get was the CZ175 Trail which was a CZ175/477 with a 21" front wheel and a raised exhaust. Couple guys from around here took one of those CZ175 Trails and an older Jawa 250 along with some trabants through Australian deserts and made a tv series out of it! The ČZ lineup and the Jawa lineup were quite deeply intertwined, sharing tons of parts and in the later years ČZ was even manufacturing engines for Jawa. Although the division was clear Slovakia made small cc bikes(50-125cc under ZVL, Tatran, Manet, Stadion), Czechia made >125cc, 250cc and 350cc under Jawa, and middleweights under ČZ, 125cc, 150cc, and later 175cc instead of the 150cc, the regular 175s(not the unibody scooters) also often punched quite above their weight class, giving the heavier Jawa 250s a run for their money, while catching up to the bigger 350s just barely.
Its cheap , economy and can be tuned to go faster than 160 kmph. But not recommend to ho mote higher. 6 Malaysian Honda Ex5 have climbed Himalaya highway and reached London. Nit one died in Indi notorious traffic !
Glad you had fun. It's actually incredibly easy to plan a trip like this. It's not a 'round the world' thing or even close. I've spent a lot of time in those countries and while you have to make adjustments, its not hard replicate such a trip.
The most uncomfortable thing I have ever ridden.
I think ridding this little bike of the restrictor device would be the first thing to do. Such a waste of such a pretty little bike which should be much quicker. I remember my old 1976 Yamaha FS1E was capable of 60 mph being an unrestricted two stroke. Many thought restricting 50cc bikes back in 1977 was actually making them far less safe to ride as they lacked the power to get out of situations.
I agree - heres the same engine with no restriction. It's awesome to ride! czcams.com/video/I118W-cb7ug/video.html
well done Lads!!!
Thanks so much!
I used to tackle the road to fraser hill with my 250cc cbr. So much fun.
Do you know where I can get wholesale 600cc upwards motorcycle parts for reselling?
Honestly not sure. I imagine it would need to be a country that has an abundance of those bikes already for it to be worthwhile.
I went with Navi, 5k for a monkeyof When I can get a honda rebel 300cc for same price. My navi takes my 260lb ass to 42, I hope to mod her up to get 50-55
Ironically we’ll have choppers here in America that only run a rear brake to keep the front end clean of any cables. Can’t imagine running a bike without both.
I've seen as such! Quite wild. I actually rode one bike without a front brake but didn't really film it well. czcams.com/video/1m6uLKklKLI/video.html
what is your mpg?
Good question! Less than stock form. I need to do a proper test.
I like the Lego keyring😅
Haha it's a cool addition!
Man small bikes are just the best😂, I own a Honda z50 and a Suzuki gag 50 and I absolutely love them both.
Nice bikes! The GAG 50's are super special. I rode one on the channel but it wasn't running properly. czcams.com/video/_yOoGNqzdM4/video.html
I wonder where you guys got this very old Malay songs? 😅
I listen to them!
Wheres the small bike?
This may shock you - but if you click on the channel there is hundreds of videos about small bikes! 🫡
My second motorbike, when I was between 17 and 19 years old, here in Portugal, was my sweet Yamaha TZR 50, from 1992. It wasn't restricted (I could reach 100 Km/h easily), didn't have an electric starter, neither. It was very good, for a little 50cc. And it was beautiful, almost looked like that one. Try to google it and you'll see. Now I am a bit regreted to had sell it.
I’m from Thailand and own a Honda wave 125i, I’m so jealous that the Malaysian version have a rear disk break
Yes I agree. I looked on Lazada or Shopee in Malaysia and I think it wouldn't be too hard to change over to a disc brake swing arm.
Good one,
Thanks for watching.
I have the 1975 C90 Deluxe that I did a strip down to the last screw restoration on with the factory motor rebuilt with all new parts I source from all over the world including a crank and conrod assembly. It has every part Honda new old stock with even the HM stamped rear view mirrors new. It's my personal masterpiece where I photographed the decals and using the photo as a template overlayed a new drawing in Illustrator and had a friend in a decal shop reproduce them for me from my files. I still have new Deluxe decals for the front as he made a batch for me. After years of waiting, I finally got a new old stock Honda speedo for it to put the cherry on top of the project. I paid $80 for the bike initially. I dont ride it and it still looks like a new bike. I replaced the wheel rims and spokes and built the wheels myself. Spokes are stainless steel that I polished to look like chrome.
Thats so awesome. I love original Honda parts with the HM stamping. They're my favourite to see on an old Honda. Is there any way I can see photos or anything of the bike? It sounds amazing.
@@SmallBikeStuff i'd need to email them is the only way I can see. If you post an email address here I can delete this message and your email address will disappear with it.
Medan begitu saja udah di bantu dgn kaki.. berarti motor ini pakai 11 gigi hehehe hehehe
Haha yes yes very true!
Greeting from the South Island (NZ) . Great trip guys. Riding in South East Asia rocks. Riding (amongst other things) the most underrated small cc 2 wheeler in NZ, a GSX 150 (70.000 km) I can relate to your riding (less is more). Was shocked to see and read that 'NEAL was intentionally hit off his bike by a grazy driver in NZ '...what's the story about that. Would be perhaps helpful to know the details to be able to avoid similar situation in the future. Cheers. Have fun.
Thanks so much for watching! Neal was commuting in Auckland city and just got chased down by a crazed driver - thinking he was out of the way of the driver we went to continue his commute but they caught up and rode straight into him. Going through the courts now I believe.
I didn’t see a master sword up there😢
Look deeeeper.
But over hyaahhn
Welcome to New Zealand, where everything is made up and the vowels don't matter!
The jpj ( road transport department) are strict but suffice to say for roadblocks as long as you dont have obvious modification, obnoxious exhaust you could get away with it. Having a bigger carb/throttle body , higher compression heads, racing ecu/cdi would probably just let you go through as long as your respectful. No side mirror or fancy/improper licence plates is an automatic fine. If you rack up 4-5 minor offences you could get your bike confiscated until the fined is paid and you bring the relevant parts and install them to make it complient again. As for traffic police they usually check for helmets, expired licences only the obvious ones . Not legal advice please follow y'all local laws. Looking forward for you to come back to Malaysia, maybe indulge in our 150cc supermopeds
Thanks so much for the information mate. I appreciate it. Learning a lot from the comments always. Hope I can get back to Malaysia soon!
Please go next to the Philippines we have great small cc motorcycle culture 😊
I would love to see the Philippines!
Chaps, helluva ride. Makes me want to ride my 155cc scooter across the border myself - something I’ve been yearning to do a while now here in Malaysia. Anyways, for your next trip, might I recommend a tour or Malaysia’s other side? North Borneo is another gem on its own and, I assure you, it’ll be a proper adventure too, minus the border crossings.
Thanks so much for watching. I would love to see the other parts of Malaysia! One day...
Is that honda future ?
Future was just a rebadged Honda Wave.
I put knobby tires on mine here in Thailand...much better grip..thanks for the great video.
Good idea! Nice bike I'm sure.
This man is a national treasure!
He really is!
Nop the jupiter is 135 lc we have it in greece under the name crypton x
Nice.
My old woodwork teacher said 'The best designs are simple'. Of course he was correct. You get a superb toolkit with these bikes, everything you need for lifelong maintenance. Keep it simple!
Wise words!
The price is depend on what year it made. I got the same bike with 2 difference name and production year. 125Z/2003 and 125ZR 2016.
Awesome thats a nice model.
Viva Aprilia 🎉🎉❤❤
Great bike!
