I am really saddened when I think of what happened to Bob Probert. He was a true warrior and he paid the price for it in so many ways. A tortured soul he was. RIP Bob Probert.
A tortured soul? Did you know Bob? Bob never took care of himself. He never saw his doctor, if he did, he might still be alive today. People close to him bugged him all the time to get to the doctor but he refused to do so. He was seen often with a shade of blue on his lios and his hands, still no doc. He had his days with drugs and alcohol, he was a smoker, but I wouldnt say a tortured soul. When he passed away he was on a boat with his family.
If Probert had taken care of himself and weight trained, did supplements, no partying and drugs I wonder how much longer he would have been on top of the enforcers.
Laraque was a goon at 15, I don’t think he did too many drugs if that’s the hint. His father refused to let him play junior at 15 to avoid fights with older guys.
Probert here was clearly beyond his rookie days when it came to fisticuffs as you can see here with Laraque. By this time in his career Bob shows the effects that fighting had on his performance, not to mention the booze and drugs. Rest in peace Probie you are sorely missed!!👍💪
This is the end for Probie. He wasn't the intimidating KO artist he was in Detroit and his first few season as a Blackhawk, it was over at this point. I love the guy and R.I.P. to him. Bob and Georges were two great enforcers.
By this point, Probert was basically washed. I think by the time he got to Chicago, he was worn down. His years in Detroit though, there wasn't anyone better in that role.
You can tell 😅 heart isn’t in it anymore. He was just trying to make the best of it and knew he was no longer the king. I’m glad the game is starting to phase out this but am concerned some of the hits are dangerous as hell. The players are so fast and amazingly conditioned now. RIP Probert and the other enforcers.
Laraque in his prime here and should have handled Probert who was not the same fighter he once was. A ton of fights vs. the best year after year. Candle only burns so long. Probert enjoyed fighting BGL not so much.
Tony Twist in his prime was the toughest guy in the NHL ever...probert could actually play hockey and put in mins....twist went out there for one thing
Probert had over 50 losses on his card and here went for the bearhug instead of fighting looking like an Al Secord. The other thing is the greatest coach in history Scotty Bowman has no use for Probert or Schultz but brought in Joe Kocur off the scrapheap in San Antonio and put Kocur on the Grind Line with Draper and Maltby and he played 37 playoff games winning two Stanley Cups! That was so telling, Bowman says get Probert and Schultz out of here in Detroit and Buffalo and get me Joey Kocur from San Antonio and I'll give him an important checking role!
Probert was 35 laroque 26 big difference he was way past his prime stayed to long in his hay day no one was ever tougher for a longer period of time and he only fought heavyweights and never mugged anyone like Dave shulz did in 70 percent of his fights and unlike Dave brown he never or shulz never went after nine fighters both those 2 clowns did all the time
I never could understand why all the enforcers in the NHL when they fought laraque they fought him wrong, he'd come in south paw to pull u foward when close enough. All they had to do was smack his left fist away once done give a left to his ear boom boom fight over.

..Big Bad Bob Probert...RIP ..You were the NHL heavy champ of all time...💪🏻
Greatest sport of all time. Ice boxing
Lol
Fr man
It’s called skatey punchey 😁
The words of respect shared after only Laraque knows now.
R.I.P Mr Probert
Take nothing away from Laraque but Probert had a lot of miles in the rearview mirror by then and fought him anyway.
Legends never die.
When hockey commentators literally morph into ringside boxing commentators.
RIGHT.?.!.
I miss it so much. Old time hockey. Watch ‘Slapshot’.
If Probert had taken care of himself and weight trained, did supplements, no partying and drugs I wonder how much longer he would have been on top of the enforcers.
Probert was a monster but not as strong as Laraque
He also didn't throw a few punches and use his immense strength to wrestle a player to the ice for a "takedown "
Also. At the end of his career.. in a Red Wing sweater it could go either way.
I don't think that it would have mattered if Bob took care of himself. You can't teach a guy to be tough, and he was one strong dude.
Laraque was a goon at 15, I don’t think he did too many drugs if that’s the hint. His father refused to let him play junior at 15 to avoid fights with older guys.

The explosion from the crowd when property landed a good punch before the end was amazing, RIP
legend.
Property lol
I agree100%
Concussions were never mentioned in those years unfortunately
Did time with Bob at FMC Rochester, MN. back in the late 80s. Seemed like a pretty mellow guy.
Most fighters were pretty easy going off ice it was just Thier job
Laraque hugging for dear life.
Probie was done when he got to Chicago.
Chicago Probert was not the same as the Detroit Probert. He was less interested in fighting and wanted to play more.
yes!!! gettin old and had enough kickin butt, not the pocket pitbull he use to be here
The early Red Wings version of Probie would have eaten Brash up very easily.
Tell that to Scott Parker.
Have to say was proberts swan song year not bad for a mid 30s guy taking on the next champion in his Early 20s
Nah,he had some great ones on the Blackhawks too,I remember but ultimately yeah definitely more on Detroit
If both players fight without gloves it should be mandatory both players should fight without helmets too.
This is the end for Probie. He wasn't the intimidating KO artist he was in Detroit and his first few season as a Blackhawk, it was over at this point. I love the guy and R.I.P. to him. Bob and Georges were two great enforcers.
Its great this can happen in a match, its unique
Second fight in one period and it's Probert? He did well, considering.
I love it when you go to a boxing match and a hockey game breaks out...lol
Is it just me or is hockey the only spot that they know how to fight every other spot they just slap each other
Perhaps the most violent era.
I love how they wait till the morning for start fighting
Wish he fought him in the 80s that would of have been something special RIP probie
Probie forever!
Two of the greatest fighters.
He has already score 29 goals with 398 minutes of penalties and +16 in his first year with Detroit
Hardcore dude man,RIP
*his third year with Detroit
Should they try another sport arena?
Stop the rock can’t stop the rock!!! Sure miss watching George in fight mode
Laraque was a wrestler
By this point, Probert was basically washed. I think by the time he got to Chicago, he was worn down. His years in Detroit though, there wasn't anyone better in that role.
Refs should’ve let them go at it.
And the second fight in that game where Probert knocked him out?
Ты что мультиков насмотрелся, Ларак набил морду Проберту в первом бою, во втором просто пожалел!
I didn't see either one the winner of this fight? Draw at best probert was done with fighting he paid his dues he had nothing too prove.
Проберта из за уважения просто пожалели, перед этим минут 10 до этого набив ему морду!
Probert at 26 would have have lumped him up!
I'm not sure, Georges has like 30 lb on him. Probert was a good fighter, but he had an 80s build, Laraque is a monster.
Ларак его размазал бы!
Probert would eat these guys in his prime!
Laraque in his prime here and should have handled Probert who was not the same fighter he once was. A ton of fights vs. the best year after year. Candle only burns so long. Probert enjoyed fighting BGL not so much.
laraque just wanted to hang on. Probert in his prime would smoked BGL
Здесь Проберту 33 то есть самый расцвет тяжеловеса, а Лараку 23 и он еще молод как супертяж!
Why bother posting this?
Nice..
Ларак не стал его сильно бить!
georgie likes to hang on
Laraque turned into a wrestler after initial. 10 second flurry and was way overated like Huggy Bear Brashear!
bravo george
Thats why we love hockey...the Respect
how do you call that anything but a DRAW....no clear winner whatsoever.
Zero respect to Probert. He was always on drugs, so he didn’t tire or feel pain.
When the coke fails you...
Tony Twist in his prime was the toughest guy in the NHL ever...probert could actually play hockey and put in mins....twist went out there for one thing
Jay Miller or Behn Wilson would kick Tony's ass.
Georges, celui qui faisait le party avec cocaine et escortes pendant le confinement
Probert had over 50 losses on his card and here went for the bearhug instead of fighting looking like an Al Secord.

What the fuck are you talking about. Do you even watch hockey🤣
@@mattwilson3433 Ignorant and stupid!
lay off the crack...
@@liveclassictunes Ignorant braindead!
LOL you’re a joke. Keep quiet and stop embarrassing yourself.
Silly
Looked real even to me
Probert looked scared 😂😂😂
He was. Georges is still the fiercest fighter to ever play in the NHL.
hmm, Probert was far from his prime here and couldn't take advantage of that.@@phreshian
Bullshit, he feared no one
Probert in his prime would have destroyed Laraque
😂😂😂
Ali in his prime would have destroyed Tyson.
Только в твоих влажных фантазиях!
Laroque was a coward. Probert was a mf-ing warrior
😂
Prime Probert would have ENDED LaSquanch
Where is he now?
Laroque showed respect and compassion for the veteran Probert....
Probert was a drunk and a cokehead.."warrior" lmfao
The reason why hockey is a third rate sport.
..Stick to mens figure skating then..🙄
This Is Why I've Allways Liked Hockey 🏒 We Can Watch Our Favorite Teams Fight In A Boxing Round, While They Play The Game

LOL!!!!!! yeah ok... thanks Angelo Dundee Jr.
Sounds like you could've taken him on....and won!
