- Geordie Day’s film adds heartbreaking complexity to the Red Wings enforcer and all-time penalty leader, who died in 2010 of heart failure. Off the ice, Probert emerges as a kind, flawed soul who loved his wife and kids while battling the demons of addiction and neurodegenerative disease.

Bob Peobert was not only one of the toughest guys ever in the league - He was a heck of a hockey player - smart, and soft hands. Plus he was a very nice man. He deserves all our respect.
💯
@iggymania2414 You said it all. I don't believe he got the recognition he deserved
@fitchsen He was a complete hockey player. Made room for other players on the ice simply with his presence. Tough and could score ,what a hockey player should be. Legend.
@@iggymania2414 One of the best. Unfortunately the press missed a lot of that because he was such a tough guy, they focussed on that to sell papers. Those soft hands, hey?
@fitchsen yeah true, I wish they'd play his fight highlights next to his play making highlights more.
I have a picture of him holding me and my brother outside the Minnesota North Stars arena. Miss you Bob.
Probert was actually a good guy, he should still be here.
Luv bob probert, guy could score goals and fight, definitely 1 of a kind, super nice guy in person, will miss that guy, r.i.p.! Bob will for ever be missed
I use to love his battles with Wendall Clark.
I lived next door to his father. He was an extremely nice old man that would feed my cat.
Good guy lol. The man was a fucking maniac. A coked-up violent disaster of a person.
@@JohnBender1313 His father also died in his 40's. Also, from a heart condition. Hardly what i would call old.
The first time I saw Probert in his rookie year was against the Flyers and he fought at that time was a pretty good fighter Dave Richter and tore him up. As a Flyer fan and a fan of hockey fights I was in awe how easily he won that fight. Needless to say Probie was a force and I became a fan. One of the best fighters and players at that time. RIP Probie thanks for the memories.
I'm the exact same age as Bob. I suffered from heart failure but it was caught in time and I went on the right meds. I wish Probie had done it as well. I just finished his book. One of my favorites players of all time.
God bless
God bless him. RIP Probert
Gonna miss #24 for a long time. R.I.P. Probie.
God love him!!!! He was a mess but one hell of a tough guy!!! Rip probie
RIP Probie🙏🙏you were as nice a guy as you were a VERY TOUGH guy👊👊👊👊!!!
My God he was something!
The all time heavyweight champ !
Probert is king
He's kind of fading away now in the fog and web of history but Probert was crazy tough.
Nah, legends never die.
@@EdwardSedgwick83 I think Trev Mac is right. 98% of people forget.
There aren't many of us, we're that 1-2% who still remembers and think fondly of the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Loved hockey in the 80's and 90's. I still love it but it's nowhere near as exiting now that the enforcers are pretty much gone. I still have my Probert jersey. I loved how he took guff from no-one. Punching the goalie for pointing at him. Beautiful!
the greatest hockey Fighter ever!
I LOVE YOU BOB I MISS YOU BROTHER! #24 L&R J
As a Toronto Maple Leaf fan I can definitely say that there was nothing more exciting than when Probert and the Red Wings came to town.
Every time he was on the ice, we would be glued to the colour television set.
The anticipation of him and Wendel possibly squaring off was as intense as any heavyweight boxing match.
True warrior and one of my favorite hockey players of all time. R.I.P.
That you loved the violence is disgusting. Boxers, violent hockey players and American football players payed the physical price for those sports.
@@vivalaleta I absolutely love the violence and as much as I enjoy watching it, I prefer partaking in it even more and have a huge appreciation and respect for all warriors throughout all of time across all cultures.
@MaxMortis I've never seen anyone call someone a pussy as eloquently and artistically as you did here.
I tip my hat to you.
ВЕЛИКИЙ БОЕЦ...И ПРОСТО ПОРЯДОЧНЫЙ МУЖИК
Probert and Kocur on the same team. Oh my.
The Bruise Brothers!
Exactly!!! Who was going to mess with Stevie y when those 2 were in the line up???
Bob probert hes a bad man, luv that guy, a true hockey player, glad I got to watch him, unlike this garbage today, nothing against the players, they have ruined all the sports with the rule changes, RIP MR PROBERT WILL BE MISSED!!!!!!!
Bob will always be my hero!!
This fate, my brother died of heart failure (which those that do not know usually means overdose or heart attack). So, I grew up watching Probert and just in a way idolized him. I was young in the 80's So, I got to see his career. My brother's number was 24 and gave me shit for liking Bob. But I think secretly he always loved the way he fought. So, my brother passed July 5, 2005. Bob died July 5, 2010. Was crazy. every year my family does something for my brother. I always remember Bob as well. So, every time I think of Bob, I think of my brother, Fate man...
The thing is Probert was actually a decent player...I wish we could have truly seen Probert vs Twist square off for real....
@@badm0t0rf1ng3r Dont think so but close....not the point! Probert was a hockey player not just the best fighter of all time!!! Him and Twist would've been classic!!!
@@thabeaststl3703 Twist and Probert fought 4 times.
Legend.
Good guy under the addiction. Heartfelt story.
Упокой душу Великого мужчину Короля Боба Проберта!! Вечная ему память!
Король навсегда останется в наших сердцах!
My Hero.
GOAT.
Proby, you are missed!
Great watch
"Probert is King!" Damn.
Wasn't he a beauty. Miss you Bobby
We needed this man in Detroit during the Colorado Detroit rivalry in the late 90’s…… too bad he got traded to Chicago…. I’ll love proby forever….
I was always a Colorado fan from the start but had hated Claude Lemieux ever since he was on the Canadiens. I would have loved to see Probert make a career of tuning Lemieux up for what he did to Draper.
I never ever cried when a hockey player died except when big bad bob probert died. It’s still heRtbreaking😢 to see his kids and wife also its gut wrenching to be without their father. He was one in a trillion. And they’ll never be another one like him. Miss ya and love ya bob. Hope you’re happy and and at peace in heaven . You’re sorely missed by all. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
He was fierce and committed. Every one wants that from a teammate. Too bad about the drugs.
What every you say about that man he could handle anything on the ice and score goals to
played mens league hockey with a guy who fought probie asked him how long he lasted and he said until probie sent him down...about sums it up...
Просто представьте тройку Гретцки Овечкин Проберт))
Anyone know where to watch the full Probert documentary for free?

God love Probie.
He made mistakes! We all did! Still the best player in the NHL!
They are Enforcers but Bob Probert is The Enforcer
Bobby Clobber!
Almost all of this isn't in the movie on prime
And that's why he died...of CTE...REST EASY BOB
He died of heart failure. Most likely because 60% of NHL players at that time were huge into cocaine.
My step dad was head of security at the Hospital bob went to and had to hold bob down after the motorcycle accident because he was so out of his mind on drugs and alcohol
RIP Bob, gone too soon 🥅 🏒 👊
OOOOOOOH SHIT the cocaine in the beginning looked mad good like the shit i used to get i called SHYNE or better known to newbs as fish scale! it is very oily feeling like it dissolved in my hand and turned into oil really quick and it stank like plants or saliva or something weird but it flaked apart and it had multiple layers i remember one time i got some that had a pink hue to it! i hated coc though it was nice until an hour after your first line when u do more and it doesnt have the same effect as the first line or bump of the day i basically kept doing it so i didnt get stuck(which happened anyways) but yea i like weed and i USED to like oxycontin lol omg oxy was the best thing EVER! oxy and haze will have u high for days!
People I knew were using the term fish scale in the late 90s early 2000s so it's not that new.
I'm glad you finally grew up ????????
Probert was on 'roids???? no way! no way. I love the guy. Stop sayin' stuff like that.
I was a fan of his when he played too, but if you're surprised to hear that, there's something seriously wrong with you... but I assure you he wasn't the only one.
Just imagine if The boogeyman used steroids... lights out!!
@@gymguy25 I read his book to make sure I didnt miss anything...and there was mention of coke, booze...cigs....ans xtra marital affairs with strippers but no 'roids...
@@jean-paulmoreau7178 Probert started roiding up in 2002, concerned he was going to lose his job. He apparently reported to camp at 240 pounds, definitely the heaviest of his career. According to what I read, his mobility was limited by the extra bulk, and the Hawks released him.
Roids..and blow..and oxys..and booze.. and neglected his kids. And beat his wife.. real hero
Что ж так(Твист,Гетц-лучшие ушли,Кошур(((
Wy they put his drug use first? That's bs
Public Animal, I mean Enemy number 1.......ROUGHEST AND TOUGHEST....EVAAAAAAAAA !!!
It's amazing to see all the Freemasonic flashing of symbols in this video.
Everybody everywhere does cocaine, every sport, every league, every city, every small town. Its human nature.
Who's to blame? Fame? 😉
😂😂😂
Akways the big guys that cant handle the coke and booze.....Funny how us little guys could...
Facing Bob Probert amazon books $5.99!!
Something not right about that wife.
Agree.. she married a pos. She's pretending he's a good guy for the cameras, but you can tell she doesn't think so
My dog just left a steaming pile of probert on the blue line.

@marty uribe ya that's the only time the computer tough guys are tough is behind a keyboard,I'd like to take the keyboard and smash them in the head with it,ignorant fuckin ass clowns.
So this pug won his fights because he was a hopped up drug addict?..cool story
Ever call anyone a *QUOTE* 'pug' in real life?
@@trevmac8362 Pug is short for pugilist, so it's actually a compliment.
So.. he made a lot of choices. And got away with a lot. And chose to get married. And have a family. Terrible dad. Terrible husband. But ya! He punched guys pretty good
I bet you sit around and wonder why you have no friends.
Who made you the judge of people, you know nothing about Bob Probert the man, just what you read.
