  • Geordie Day’s film adds heartbreaking complexity to the Red Wings enforcer and all-time penalty leader, who died in 2010 of heart failure. Off the ice, Probert emerges as a kind, flawed soul who loved his wife and kids while battling the demons of addiction and neurodegenerative disease.

The first time I saw Probert in his rookie year was against the Flyers and he fought at that time was a pretty good fighter Dave Richter and tore him up. As a Flyer fan and a fan of hockey fights I was in awe how easily he won that fight. Needless to say Probie was a force and I became a fan. One of the best fighters and players at that time. I was young in the 80's So, I got to see his career. My brother's number was 24 and gave me shit for liking Bob. But I think secretly he always loved the way he fought. So, my brother passed July 5, 2005. Bob died July 5, 2010. Was crazy. every year my family does something for my brother. I always remember Bob as well.
