  • A little job on a Larry Adler Chromatic today showing some of the work and tools involved. This is a very common repair specification. bent reeds, misaligned reeds, tuning, poor windsavers , stripped threads in wooden comb etc. If you want to learn more or get some tools visit my website. or better still book on a repair course. Only £65 for the day...

Well...now it's off to your website! Thanks for the excellent information, John. What you've shown me will save a good deal of "exploratory" activity and frustration, I'm sure.

Very interesting John, I really liked your workshop at NHL this year and hope to attend one of your Sunday sessions in the coming year. I love taking things apart and trying to fix them. Since your workshop at NHL I've had a go and made several of my harps play better, especially a Hohner Rocket Eb that I thought was terrible until I applied your tips with gapping etc and now it's a great harp! Thank you.

Well done. I wonder if this repair is much cheaper than buying a new reedplate from Hohner?

Nice. My problem with my 270 is that one note doesn't work, the draw 8, i believe. Can you give me an idea as to how I can fix that without destroying the harp?

How old is it? Do you think it's a good harmonica?

    Hi John
    Great video
How much would cost to service Lary Adler 16 That would require changing some windsavers and adjusting the reeds

Hi John, could you kindly share specifications of the brass inserts for mouth piece screws? I live in Canada and I am not sure if you sell them here. I need a total of 10 pairs.
    Thank you.

Hi. its an old watchmakers tool . i found it on ebay. not sure they are available anymore so a small flat screwdriver witha polished radius end should do the trick.
