I have finally found out that action is the only thing that will get life to change. We I am at now after a month and a half of deciding enough is enough - I have started to ask questions and college (new for me) I have been updating my core self esteem by changing my stories (thanks) using self affirmations (with evidence from my past) and I am doing what scares me.

Thank you for sharing your story. It's true that when you're at the bottom, so many "possibilities" open up. It can only get better from here! That's what kept me sane and brought me hope when I reached my lowest. That's when my survival instinct kicked in. I don't just want to exist, I wanna live. And so I changed the situation I was in.

Fantastic video. The part that really stuck with me is how you said your eye area was something you were self conscious about. But when I watched your video one of the first of your features that I picked out as liking was your eyes and how they look so deep. It really made me think, how many of my own flaws I pick apart that maybe others not only don't hate... but might even like?

Many thanks for sharing your expertise online. I watch one video of your channel every morning for one month now and I wanna keep going until there are no videos left :) I sometimes listen to Shrink for the Shy guy. I am applying some techniques of yours, like eye contact, 100 days of gratitude, bold speaking to myself in the morning, getting rid of bad habits. I am very grateful for all the inspiration and I feel small changes in my attitude to myself. Listening to your podcast made me understand that I am not the only one, feeling the way I feel. And it felt great to understand that some problems that bother people with social anxiety are not true for my life. And I learn now to be grateful for that. I have a gorgeous supporting family. There are areas in my life, where I have taken a lot of risks. I am okay with my appearance. I have awesome friends I can really share with what is going on in my life. And there are loads of possibilities at work and in private life, where I can practice to cope with social anxiety. There are people that make me feel valuable and I just need to learn to believe in what they say and perceive how they behave towards me.
I am 24 years old now, you must have been in a similar age in your senior years at high school, when you decided for yourself that things must change. For me the shift has been some severe setbacks at work. And people at work and some in my private life crossing my personal borders and behaving towards me in a way that made me feel awful, gave me the feeling I had when being bullied in high school. And these experiences haven't been tremendously bad, I just reacted too much to them. I I realised that my opinion of myself was so low that I didn't dare to say no, to stand up for myself, because I thought I am so horrible that the others are right to treat me that way. I never thought I could tackle my love life. I just kind of accepted that it is more or less not existent and that that's just what I have to live with and one day the right man will knock on my door. There has been some man, but not all experience have been good and this made me stop trying and being open for new contacts with men. And now I understood, that I really need to work on that. It is good to watch a podcast from a man addressed to men, because there are many negative feelings and a lot of distrust towards men inside me, and I usually turn to women for everything, even for asking how to get to the railways station, so being able to take advice from a man is a good thing to me. And most of your videos are helpful for men and women.
Your videos, your ebook five steps to unleash your inner confidence and your podcast inspire me to keep on taking action into changing patterns in my life that make me feel bad about myself. I am very grateful for your efforts. And besides watching all of this is a great practice of my English.
    All the best from Sibiria!

What a wonderful story. A great inspiration. I have tried all the above suggestions but every time I fail I fall deeper in a bad place. I sought council on my shyness and everyone I have seen seem mystified at how I am. But listening to you has given me some hope. Even though I am in my early 50's I still hope for the best and I do try to practice on fundamentals but when things go wrong I get really had on myself. Thanks again for your great videos.

Just wanted to say, I love your videos. The first time i watched the one about being a "nice guy", it was like getting hit in the face with a bat. It was so dead on and accurate it was painful, but at the same time a relief. It seemed to change my life for the next 3 days. Correcting these behaviors is the hardest part, but first you need to know what is the problem, then you can fix it!

I can relate to what you said. In college I was shy with women (the guy who would freeze up, then stand in the corner), and I didn't change until I was 24. Long story short, I met a divorcee who was 41 and she taught me things in and out of bed and built my confidence. Then from there I found I had a niche with "cougar women" and had a fairly active dating life. Looking back, I could have done better, but it was consistent overall from age 24 onwards.

Daniel Jones Great question Daniel - we train people how to treat us. When people pick on us, how we respond determines if they keep doing it or if they stop. It sounds like learning how to be more bold, direct, and assertive would really help you. I'd suggest checking out Confidence Unleashed.

That is what’s discouraging me. I can’t pay for therapy or coaching, so I just have God to help me. I’m by myself, physically.
