    I tried this one...its perfect. I made it in kitchenaid mixer with paddle attachment. Make sure to apply vegetable shortening on hands when you take it out of the bowl.

    It worked
    But I suggest adding a little bit of cornflour for people who live in sunny weather, when making the icing figures
    It helps to dry out the figures fast.

    Perfect fondant to cover cakes! Very elastic. The only problem I encounter is that when I added CMC it crumbled and was hard to get it back together

      Hi hotcocomama, this fondant recipe holds up well in hot and humid areas. However, don't place cakes directly in the sunlight. Always keep them under a shade if possible.

    This looks great although I'd have liked to see it rolled out and used. Can you use a mixer and dough hook to make this? Would be great to see a video using that method.

      I made this fondant in my kenwood kitchen chef. Guess what I was scared to try both, the recipe and my kitchen chef. Both tried for first time. I was happy that it turned out a big success.

      Hello Lorena, you can absolutely add CMC to make this fondant a little bit harder in order to make flowers.

      Its a powder you add to your fondant to make it more stable and hard, such as if you want to make tall figures to stand on their own, but normal fondant is too soft so it could fall easily, therefore you add 'cmc', in a tiny amount though, a pinch would be enough.

      Hi Abdush, CMC is Carboxymethyl cellulose. It is a food grade water-soluble gum used for thickening and stabilizing foods.

      Habibah 16 It's from the sea, so yes, it's halal. I believe you can purchase it online if they ship to Saudi. You can also try Irish Moss powder which also acts as gelatin substitute and is also from the sea and readily available online.

      Patty Valles it may have too much powdered sugar. also the temp and humidity of where you did it counts. different temps afftecs quality

      Also check your gelatin, make sure it is still elastic and hasn't firmed up. If it has slowly remelt over low heat or warm in microwave until remelted. Do not boil or it will not set proper. And maybe add a touch more shortening. Mix with sugar while still warm. If it's crumbly -try to warm it a few seconds in microwave, then try to knead it back together. Takes time & arm strength, it's sometimes savable. :) best wishes
