Another soldier tried to claim he’d shot down the Mirage with his submachine gun, but after an unsurprisingly short investigation the kill was credited to the crew of 23 Charlie. P.S. 23 Charlie was recently found in 2022 (I believe in storage) and is set to be refurbished and displayed along with the other 2 Scimitars of the squadron which have already been museum pieces for a while. The FV107 Scimitar is an armoured tracked military reconnaissance vehicle (sometimes classed as a light tank) formerly used by the British Army, until it was retired from active service in April 2023. It had high-velocity 30 mm L21 RARDEN auto cannon.
We never classified it as a Tank it was IFV- Infantry Fighting Vehicle, it wasn't well armoured it was nibble attack vehicle. Very versatile with a professional british crew as demonstrated here !

In hindsight the British MoD probably should've just made the platforms a little bigger and went with something like a Bushmaster 25mm but hindsight is 20/20 I guess

Scorpion tank they were very versatile and agile, quick in the battlefield and great for hit and run. Ireland decommissioned its small fleet of 14-16 scorpion tanks back in 2017.
I literally drove one of the tanks that appears in this video. In the video, when the voice says "measuring 5 meters in lenght" a tank with the inscription "APOKAS" appears on screen. This specific tank is part of a private collection in Italy and can be driven by visitors. I drove it in 2021. And, by the way, it is a Sabre, not a Scimitar (the vehicles are almost identical)

Scimitar is NOT a tank but a reconnaissance vehicle. To be a tank it would have to have a higher caliber gun. As such the Scorpion variant with 76mm is a light tank but the Scimitar with 30mm autocannon is not. To be a tank a tracked armored vehicle needs to have a fully enclosed 360 degrees rotatable turret with at least a direct fire 60mm gun which is not an auto cannon but a single shot gun.

That's an IFV, not a tank. The autocannon can certainly do that (though it's quite weak in comparison to the Swedish CV90's 40mm, if you put the ammo side to side it's like a 7.62 vs a .50 BMG) if you get close enough.

That's an IFV, not a tank. The autocannon can certainly do that (though it's quite weak in comparison to the Swedish CV90's 40mm, if you put the ammo side to side it's like a 7.62 vs a .50 BMG) if you get close enough.
