Very nice. As far as I know, if any one has learnt music, he has various opportunities to earn his bread and butter. At the least he can teach music and can sustain himself. A musician will not starve.
The great musicians don't care much for earnings. They are purely dedicated to music.

I love your advice, I wish I had talked with you years ago when I was asked to join a band, I was the drummer they wanted, I was happy at home with my family and hobby, but I joined, things went from playing local clubs to getting on a label, recording three albums, then touring all over the country and Europe, doing radio interviews, music TV shows, etc... it was fun but also very time consuming and I wish I knew more about the business end of it all before I agreed to do all this.

Good explanation for people outside of music Industry. As musician, it's difficult to explain sometimes to other non musicians but I can show these series of videos as many times they consider all musicians of same kind but they don't know all musicians are not Tom Scholz from Boston😅.

You are so right. You need an aptitude for whatever you want to do. If you don't have the aptitude, realise it early and don't pursue it.

I always wanted to learn music. I like singing, not a good singer though, but love to learn, I like playing piano. I am recently intrigued by hindustani classical, carnatic, and thus I am drawn more towards studying music academically. At 35, I know I don't' have much scope, but I want to try. I want to know about a proper source and in a proper structure. (right now I learn in tidbits from videos here and there - there is no structure). How do I begin?

I can't understand your 1st question. How someone can have the amplitude to find the tunes who has not learnt music earlier? 🤨

I think the point is about natural talent/ability at the beginning: The ability to pick up and replicate musical notes (pitches, rhythm, etc.) naturally.
