Def a natural. Effortless even. And watching Sebastian struggle a little is fun to watch. With all his success it’s great that he allows (or gives space rather) for Pete to shine and do HIS thing. Great cast and best interview to date.
That’s a great way to put it. I’m watching this thinking “Sebastian is awfully quiet” but I think he’s just letting Pete cook.

It's funny that Sebastian stays cool and is okay letting Pete go off with stories. This format is great because of Pete and Sebastian, don't listen to these comments, when Sebastian has something funny to say or wants to open up he does and it's worth it!

Sebastian looking at Pete while he waits for Pete to finish talking, cracks me up. He's already smiling, knowing Pete is gonna come out with something hilarious. They just appreciate each other and are both enjoying Jay's total involvement. Good episode, watching it for a third time.
This was such a hilarious episode. Jay is a great interview - he doesn’t hold back. If they have repeat guests they should invite him back.

The guest shows are fucking hilarious. Pete and Sebastian being interviewers is so funny. Making fun of each other's questions, laughing with the guest, etc.

I like them having a guest but would still like them to keep some of their same format, such as “manerios”. I’m also surprised that Pete has more prior connections to the guest than Sebastian. I actually think he could one day host a late night show.

I enjoyed this cast with Jay Mohr so much! (It must’ve been the psychic part of my brain that recently wondered if he’s still working…) I have always loved him as both an actor and comedian, so what a genuine treat to see him as a guest, and get a sense of what kind of man he is. Whip-smart, wicked funny, and all-the-way honest! I also liked how much more relaxed Sebastian was this time ; and how full of smiles! As for Pete, he seemed to be in the ragged state I refer to as Tired and Wired : Working the jaw, picking the mic up, putting the mic down, squirming in his chair, sipping his coffee, drinking his water, etc., etc., etc.
Regardless, it’s a refreshing change to see Pete and Sebastian sitting at the same table, and teaming up to host! And so far, doing a great job! Now I’m excited about watching the cast again, so my heartfelt thanks to both Pete and Sebastian for this excellent cast!

@@EastCoastINC true. He’s quickly losing touch with the common man. And he’s well way into the typical : stand up comedian turn actor. Joining the likes of Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler , Tom Allen , Jim Carey ,et al. Frankly, he seems uncomfortable with the transition because he knows it. I say that eventually Pete will be left on his own and that would be alright with me.

@@Chegles1: Very well observed comment and I second it… As ragged and jagged as Pete was (AKA Tired and Wired), I thought Sebastian dealt with Pete quite well! He was more relaxed than last time, smiled a lot, and seemed to be having fun even when Pete was all over the road.

Still waiting for sebastian’s question to be answered when he asked how did Jay met the lakers owner and pete just bombarded with some blabber. I think its almost like excitment overload how when u were younger and a friends parents finally let a friend sleep over. And when they did u wanted to smother the friend cause he was too much. Midwest raised - somber - reflective - cautious- calculating - observant. Saves burst of energy for his performance. Follows in footsteps of Letterman - Carson - perform for those in audience- go home and be quiet.

No lie…this was the FUNNIEST cast in weeks if not months. I could not stop laughing out loud - my stomach hurt. Pete is HILARIOUS, Jay was absolutely non stop funny and Sebastian’s out-of-placeness was priceless - So good it had to be scripted. Geez Christ I would not mess with this formula for anything in the world. Why Pete and Sebastian don’t have a sitcom ala Ralph and Morton, Ricky and Fred, odd couple is beyond me. Omg this was too good to be free. Lol. Omg DONT ever stop doing the cast gents. We love you guys to death.
If they had a sitcom it would be scripted and probably not as funny. I think the pure gold comes from them riffing with each other, unscripted.
So many variables play into having success in the entertainment business. All things being equal Jay Mohr has to be one of the tops in the game. He is naturally funny.
I like when they have guests that they're friends with it seems more natural.. or at least one of them is friends with!

I'm almost 40 and I don't remember Jay Mohr and SNL but I DO remember him from the spoof movie Mafia! Which is still one of the greatest and most underrated comedies out there. It still makes me laugh all these years later.

I watch every episode of this podcast and the LA shows have been great. One observation though is when Pete and Sebastian are together, Pete totally dominates and takes over. Pete is hilarious but I really like the two when they go back and forth. I hate to say this but I'm not sure this show works as well in person.
Pete is high as a kite. He was annoying and that being said everyone deserves a break. Like Jay said at the beginning…… we’re all fk’ing broken toys. We can’t judge, we all have our addictions in one form or another.
They had the “secret recipe”then they thought they would up their game - bad decision.

That’s not an excuse - research and be prepared - like interviewers do when Sebastian is interviewed.
Doesn't matter. Sebastian is a pro. The show is great and very funny. As I said before, I don't think the guest idea works well as the dynamic is totally different.
This format gives Pete a chance to lead instead of follow. Nothing wrong with alternating their usual format (which typically has Sebastian center stage) and this format (which has Pete taking the lead). It's a good balance and allows both of them to show their strengths. Patrick laughing in the background is a bonus in both formats 😂
Firstly, that is a gross exaggeration. Secondly, motor-mouth Pete hardly let him get a word in edgewise! Sebastian was relaxed, congenial, and softened Pete’s sharp, under-the-influence edges!

I saw a Jay stand up a few years after nine eleven.....he was so good I’ll never forget him...how he’s So Ready to be The Hero in his every flight...as I wondered if this is how every man (I Hope!) secretly feels, too ! He shared some personal stuff, made himself so relatable.....and so likeable !

I loved this one! I read some complaints about Pete. I was cool with it. We didn't get much of Sebastian, but that's on him not Pete. Sebastian seems to like order and planned entertainment. I'm not cutting him down because I'm like that as well. This was good.
My fave lines were both from Jay. 1) where he leans in to tell Sebastian what TCM after Pete did and 2) when Jay was talking about the sex addict and said, "keep coming back." I think that went over Pete & Sebastian's head because they've never been to AA/NA meetings.
How’s that on Sebastian?
With Pete literally talking the entire time and cutting off repeatedly, Sebastian had 2 options and chose the best option for the listeners.
He could either do what Pete did the entire show and it would’ve been just Pete and Sebastian talking over each other and cutting each other off the entire time and wouldn’t have been listenable or digestible, OR…
He could have class and patience and let Pete go - who was clearly a little too Drinkey and Smokey this episode, no doubt about it - and that’s what he did.
You’re looking at it wrong and missing why the episode was like it was. This was on Pete. Not to mention Pete was so blitzed he was forgetting what he was saying/his train of thought a bunch throughout the episode. I love Pete, but that’s what happened here and it’s ok to call it out (the truth). In no way “on Sebastian”. He did the listeners a solid, if anything 👏

Love the new set up with inviting guests. One suggestion would be to expand the table-make it more roomy-seems The Guest, Pete and Seb are too close. Make it more like you are at a restaurant with friends. Have some healthy snacks and drinks on the table and promote those during the cast. 🤩
