Thank you so much. When I reached the point of frustration with those short wires, I found your video! I changed the switches in my Escalade. Done and done.
Sir, You saved my BUTT! Thank you for the video. I was struggling with how to connect the two bottom switches. I almost had to remove the steering wheel to get things installed. This video gave me clarity! Thank you!
Spent over an hour trying to connect the bottom ones. The dealership was going to charge me $110.00 to connect them. Thanks to you and youtube got it in 5 min. Mucho thanks
Thank you, this worked perfectly, this is the only video I found that made it a breeze to deal with the lower buttons. took only minutes to do the bottom buttons once I snaked the wires from the bottom to the top of the steel plate.
stumbled across this video doing new buttons in my tbss. this nice easy trick made it soooo easy to get the bottom ones in.. much appreciated, thank you!
I didn't get so lucky. I had to remove the steering wheel to get the lower buttons out. Even when my wires were located the same as yours they were still too short. The button only came out halfway, and didn't expose the connector. Pulling the wheel was quite easy though, and would have saved me time if only I removed it right from the beginning. The airbag took about 30 seconds to remove, and the wheel took about 5 minutes. Also, a steering wheel puller is not required. Just wiggle the wheel and pull straight back. Be careful of the clockspring wires when doing it this way, so you don't damage them. Thanks for the video!
Ordered blue leds for everything inside my trailblazer dash....will be doing this in a few days. I’ve watched several videos and this seems to be the easier. Thanks 👍
On my 06 Denali, I was able to replace all of the SWC buttons without taking the airbag off. This is what I did after removing of the old buttons. I took a pair of tweezers and gently pulled each wire tab out on all 4 buttons and they all came out an extra quarter inch or so. Not sure if GM corrected the wiring behind the airbag, but on my Denali it was very simple. Took about 5 minutes to replace them all.
God bless you you save me a lot of headaches you are that man it took me literary five minute to do it thank you so much keep the good work God bless you
wish I'd see this before I started..... Can you tell me what the color sequence is on that bottom right switch, the DIC switch? My clip came out and I do not know which of the 4 wires goes where.
To make it easier, go to TRQ Channel/Page and look up this. Make it easier to get them all out. Once they are out, put all back together then re-route the bottom connectors, incase you ever have to do it again, but this time you can just replace the switches and don't have to remove air bag again. If your buttons are worn just get a new set with LED's already installed: www.ebay.com/str/gmgaugerepair/GM-Steering-Wheel-Controls/_i.html?_storecat=5294336017
