Flip Top Tool Cart Build - Free Plans

- Using a couple sheets of 3/4" plywood and some scrap pine I created a multi use flip top cart for my thickness planer. I intend on using this as a cart for my planer as well as a work surface but this could easily handle multiple tools on both sides.

I like this idea, but for my pizza oven, i can roll it into my back deck and back inside the house when not in use. A couple of mods to outside will make lt look a regular roll cabinet. Thanks for the idea.
I like the way this becomes multi use. It's a great solution for limited space.

Nice design! Despite appearances yours is dual purpose, it just has a useful table surface one side. I'm not blessed with as much floor space so mine will have to accommodate two and maybe three tools on one cart (two smallish tools on one side). Better weight distribution that way, too. I like the locking table idea but will probably go with DIY retracting casters to avoid cart creep. Thanks!

My favorite part of this build is that it includes a door that will prevent sawdust from getting into the tool underneath. That and it looks much more stable than those that are using a pin or latch to hold the platform in the locked position.

Flip top was the best thing I made for my shop. My DW735 is hard on my arthritic back. Nice AVE reference fack.

Nice planer stand build.....I love that over the top push stick, going to see if you have a video on that.

Perfect for me! Can I see the planer bed you made? I have a craftsman planer and the bed extensions broke.
Its just the 2 edge pieces with a notch in the middle and the surface piece connects them. Nothing special but works.
Does the big blue box home improvement store sell fix this build that nails? I’m still having trouble finding me nails too. Should I look for you nails instead?

Definitely, but I wouldn't go less than 4" pvc pipe in the middle (filledwith concrete & rebar). Don't forget to add leg extenders so you get that full flip action as well, otherwise its going to be a fat short version of a tetter todder.....

1) I never implied I was smart or wise, that was clearly implied by paying for the college I went to. Although both words have been used as adjectives to describe what I really am, an Ass, which has been followed by "hole", as well, many times.
