This content is incredible. I love that there is now a resource for supports to improve technique and macro knowledge.
Haven't finished the video but I LOVE this format of content already. The option D in the very first quiz is so good because I'd have definitely done it lol. I know the right answer is B, but my default response is "if the ADC isn't doing it, well better to grief the game with them than to commit to backing instead."
I think this is a really good concept of a video as it let us evaluate ourselves.
Like in school, we first learn the lesson (your videos), we test our knoledge (this video) and then we can apply theses concepts (in real games).
Finnaly, I think that showing clear exemples really helps us learn these concepts as we can think in game "oh this is the situation from the video".
Love this quiz type of video
This was a great video to think on after watching multiple of your guidelines for supports, felt like an exam. Although it's way harder to do these decisions in real time while playing, it was a good way to test my knowledge. I must say I'm more confident jumping into soloq games now, genuinely thank you so much for all the content!
Sorry for missing this comment but I appreciate the support a lot!
This video is amazing! I've been watching all your videos ever since I discovered your channel and this is my favorite!
Love the quiz video, would love to see one for playmakers, especially with roaming decisions!
I know I'm late, but thank you so much for this video. It is exactly what I needed right now and I like how it gives a playful way to learn and encourages you to actively think and internalize the information.
Glad it helped out!
I really enjoyed the video, but I think for each scenario, you should sequence your discussion so you go through all of the "wrong" options first and always end on the correct call. That way it's a bit clearer in the leadup why the remaining choice is probably the best one given the circumstances by eliminating things that wouldn't be as productive or possibly risky.
Awesome video! I'd love to see more quizzes!
I love this format, pls make more if you can!
Hello, Coach Cupcake!
I would like to ask about the "correct," answer for Q2 [06:06]. As an ADC Main, my view on the game is slightly different than yours, since I'm a primary carry. I was under the assumption that since Caitlyn has the minion advantage, the only thing that is worth in the wave is the enemy cannon, since it will help their wave outpush ours. I would have assumed that allowing their wave to slow-shove into us would have been better, since we can deny more minions if we let their larger wave come into our tower. This would allow me, as Ezreal, to get more of and advantage, since we have re-dive on Caitlyn, assuming that we can get Evelyn back Bot Lane.
This was a very good and fun experiment. I rather like this choice of teaching. I got a 5/8, but my weakness as a player is Macro. However, as an ADC I knew for a fact that the Fed Enemy Midlaner, regardless of Champion, means we drop Drake. I've been baited into giving over my Bounties to them by my Jungler too many times.

Sorry for missing this! You won't be able to get a good reset off if you don't decide to crash this wave. You will deny some minions in the short-term, but eventually will probably miss an entire wave and 1-2 plates once Cait re-enters lane. You have to hope they disrespect your jungle completely and get to kill her again. Maybe some more context here would be helpful, but it's very unlikely she just redies in the same spot immediately without enemy jungle hover
@@CoachCupcake There is another issue with attempting to crash the wave there imo... Time. With the new wave soon to arrive, the enemy already coming as well as having minion advantage, I don't think we'd have enough time to crash the wave... maybe if it was an adc with better clear, but ez doesn't have the fastest, and as we see from the clip, even though you attempted to crash, caitlyn got there before the wave even moved.
However, if we held the freeze we could ping eve, who's already there and full hp to attempt to kill cait to THEN shove. They'd have item advantage, but we'd have numbers.
EXCELENT CONTENT BRO KEEP IT UP
Very informative
this waa very interesting, pls do moree
This is really good
More videos like this one please :D
5:56 actually holding a freeze is the correct answer, because cait loses cannon + evelynn can wait in bush because cait will likely overextend in order to crash wave with karma.
Basically you: Deny cannon + Likely get free kill + THEN you can roam and take free dragon.
If cait waits inside her tower, evelynn can just go drake while we crash next wave to help her.
good video btw, really interesting ideas
Great video
For the second one I thought it would freeze itself if we insta base
Coach Cupcake - could you please kindly give some brief explanation why are we not seeing any enchanters (except Renata) these words? Why is meta not favoring them?
What are your thoughts on adapting to your adc's incorrect plays? I've found that brute-forcing a "correct" play tends to tilt players in Solo Q (NA mid-high Masters), so I typically try to compensate for their mistake: for example, if they take a bad recall time, I often stay in lane to hold the wave outside of tower, and if this fails I just take the farm before recalling. However, I'm also struggling to climb right now, so it could be that this method is causing more issues than it's solving.
I recommend you checking out my ACE mentality video. But yes adapting, or Embracing reality (E) is crucial to your performance. But that's only the third and last step.
I wouldn't touch the wave underneath tower until our own wave has reached the red minions under tower. This will hold up our own wave creating a freeze then ping my adc to back with me. By the time we get back into lane they would have just managed to crash the wave cos its cannon. This means we have regained tempo and also have potential to set up another freeze for an easy jg gank and lost minimal CS.
That would do the opposite of creating a freeze. You would want to kill the red minions under tower as quickly as possible for the best wave state
I'm not sure how I feel about the Caitlyn and Lulu example. I've always been told that perma-shoving the wave is bad. I understand what you can gain from doing it but I feel depending on the matchups in the botlane and jungle it's just not possible every game and could straight up be inting. If you could go into a bit further detail on this strategy that would be greatly appreciated!
Shoving when you can is how you achieve the most pressure. Just because the enemy jg is in your side of the map doesn’t mean you have to sit under your turret. It’s up to you to explore those limits and figure out when you can and can’t shove! There are many tools to help you survive these windows like warding, positioning, spell usage…
8:39, I was thinking of following the jungler and trying to take a camp with him in enemy jungle, Would that be a good idea or not?
You will get much more out of diving and killing with a stacked wave top.
I'm mad I'm just now finding your vids.
Thanks for watching!
Why is holding the freeze at 7 min in the video not the right option? Cait losses cannon and eve can stay and kill her again
You won't be able to get a good reset off if you don't decide to crash this wave. You will deny some minions in the short-term, but eventually will probably miss an entire wave and 1-2 plates once Cait re-enters lane. You have to hope they disrespect your jungle completely and get to kill her again. Maybe some more context here would be helpful, but it's very unlikely she just redies in the same spot immediately without her jungle hovering. If we take a 3v3 fight it's absolutely doomed without resetting. But sure if she comes back and dies that would be fine and you can crash next wave.
