Fun fact: guys hospital was the tallest building in London and tallest hospital in the world at the time of this completion. So that means the high rise service lift at the main tower was the tallest lift in London at the time of its completion. That installation would have been extremely rare.

That platt schindler lift was sooooooooooooo vandalised!! And floors: 6, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, Upper 19, Lower 19, was sooooooooooooooooooooo creepy!!!! LoL! And the Open the door... LONG WAY DOWN WOOHOO!!!! THAT WAS SOOO FUNNY!!!! LOL!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

You were so lucky that you managed to film this last platt Schindler on time. The sign at 8:51 said that it would be shut down on 25 March 2016 for replacement and you uploaded this on 17 March 2016. I’m assuming you visited this place within 2 weeks of uploading so you really made it in the nick of time. Guy’s hospital ruined one of the last few original high rise 1970s lifts in London

Anyways, it would have been indeed extremely rare for 1970s high rise lifts over 20 floors to remain in its original condition. Those lifts are so rare man, a platt Schindler to serve that many floors as well. Also wondered what caused those weird sounds as the lift was leveling. The lifts indeed look very battered but they just add character to those old lifts.
the bin lifts are horrible but i liked them and they are 80s Thyseen lifts too nice to see this hospital still original. great video Ben!!

When the tower lifts go through a zone with no shaft doors on the floors, the indicator should show something like EZ (Express Zone). Btw, well done for 6,000 subs. May not be much but it's a big achievement.

Is the results of the plagiarism with Dewhurst Elevator Fixtures (Generic). Jackson Lifts Elevator usual for the main fixtures which is like of Generic Elevator. Indicator just likes in St.Thomas Hospital.
In All Floors, there's a Custom Indicator above the door. The Custom Indicator is EXTREMELY RARE! Took similar with an Elevator in Hongkong & Singapore.

Too bad they totally RUINED most of my favorite elevators here. Do you know if the last original Platt-Schindler will stay original, or will it also get modernized? The one that is still original was one of the most creepy. Maybe you could try to get the fixtures. Didn't the gated elevator used to have the floors unlocked, or at least some of them unlocked? I hope they don't modernize that one. Is the building that has about 9 floors and Jackson elevators a new building, or an old building? Are the Jackson elevators not original?

Ehh, that reminds of an M series lift I don’t remember anymore...
Let me guess what intelligent leveling is: It's when a lift can go to a floor when it's already going to a further away floor.# (e.g. one gets in the lift at G & pushes the button for 20. If someone pushes the 17 button before the lift passes floor 17 it will stop at 17 before going to 20.
+. “ccityplanner12” Nope, Intelligent leveling is when the lifts VF controls the slowdown in a controlled way calculating it as it aproaches the floor. The lift slows down from full speed to stopped in one nice controlled deceleration.
Most generic lifts use Lester controls which has VF but it levels as a stupid 2 speed. At a certain point the lift tell the VF to slow down to a slow speed, and later tells it to stop.

Thyssen lifts at 4:38 refurb begun on one of them. Probably a horrible Jacksons like the main block. The speedy!' Thyssen 5:04 still there but probably not for long now :-(

Why do they have to modernise all the lifts? To take the piss out of Beno?
Yes. They always replace the lifts with stupid generics for no reason. They are slow, crap, hydraulic, take ages to come, the doors take ages to close and have a really annoying beep. Old lifts have poor leveling, narrow door opening, a small car, and a slow, noisy, uncomfortable ride. But do not worry, the generics are eventually replaced by lifts with industry-leading space efficiency, best in-class comfort and accessibility, and excellent eco-efficiency, all with the shortest possible downtime. A KONE NanoSpace is a perfect example of a good lift.
