ESPers psychic telekinesis doesn't work on Saitama because he's too stubborn. His "Thicc spirit" as Fubuki puts it. Meanwhile more physical baddies like the alien that destroyed A City could knock around Saitama from location to location no problem (just that Saitama took no real damage from it)

The webcomics art is somewhere in that odd grey area between “actually kinda good” and “shit I drew in high school” but yeah ONE’s story telling is top notch and more then makes up for it!
I like that both Saitama and Tats can be such childish assholes at times, that's what makes this match up hilarious, not the combat obviously since we know that's one-sided, but the fact they just verbally unload on eachother with insults and mockery.

To be totally fair, her main goal was to recruit him into the Blizzard group. When that didn't pan out, she tried to noobie crush him. When she realized how strong Saitama was, she went back to trying to recruit him. She's been nothing but a pushy salesman this whole time haha
Something I'm learning more and more through the webcomic fights that the anime hasn't gotten to yet:
Saitama isn't like, a total asshole or anything. In fact, he DOES have a big heart deep down and does truly care about his fellow humans more than some characters do.
But the way he treats people who clearly have messed up psyches, such as Garou and to a lesser degree Tatsumaki,is like how a slightly mean older sibling would act.
A slightly mean older sibling would tell his younger sibling very similar lines to what Saitama says to Garou. It's stuff like "what the fuck are you talking about? You're making no sense!" Then punch him.
When Garou realizes that Saitama's power level is literally not fair, Saitama goes "yup. You will NEVER beat me. It's impossible."
He acts like a mean older brother combined with a bored and tired random dude. He wants to keep the world safe but has no time for childish antics, and will rough you up if you really are trying to antagonize him. After you give up and move on with your life, he'll give you what little advice he has (which isn't much) and treat you with some respect like a normal person.
Saitama is literally the foil to the entire universe of OPM

I mean yeah, that’s kinda the whole point of the story. All these major opponents take themselves so seriously and constantly revel in their own melodramatic backstories until they fight Saitama. Then they’re suddenly forced to face that even for all their posturing none of it is really that important, that taking life in stride was ultimately a superior path to their mad dash for the top.

This fight also shows how Tornado TWISTED what Blast said to her. He didn't mean for her to stand alone, he meant for her to be able to stand to protect herself if no one can be able to help her. Too bad she's so dense and bitter she can't see how twisted she's become just because she's so angry at the world for what happened to her 18 years ago.
That's true, but it would be pointless and absurd to expect a child who has been used and abandoned by adults to make and understand the right decisions. Blast actually told her a reason to live, which is to protect her sister, but he didn't tell her how to do it and she doesn't know it. Tatsumaki grew up without parents who showed them what was right and what was wrong. Although she has problems and lack of trust in human relations, the fact that she has chosen heroism shows that this character is good and open to development. Probably because Saitama saw the potential in her, he was intrigued. And at least saitama implicitly says that wc tatsumaki's thoughts and actions are wrong, causing tats to take it seriously and question it, while in the manga we see that it largely leads to her character development.
You know, ONE gets a lot of crap about his drawings, but you still feel it. Fubuki and Tatsumaki make you feel it. That is powerful art.

The amount of editing must’ve been something but I’m grateful that you were able to finish this mastapiece. Who knows when we’ll see this animated but when someone like you edits the webcomic in such manner, it makes the wait much more easier to endure. Fantastic work lad especially with the ending, I really feel for Tatsumaki now that we’ve been given more information on why she acts the way she does.

I loved this entire arc from beginning to end, but Tatsumaki's flashback in particular really interests me.
Blast tells Tatsumaki to not wait for other people to save her, but he's literally saving her when he says that. Not to mention he is a "hero" when at that point in time "heroes" weren't really a thing. So we can infer that he became a hero SPECIFICALLY to save people, and even has the fame as "The Hero" yet he tells Tatsumaki to not expect to be saved by others. His entire existence is kind of a contradiction.
Tatsumaki seems to also agree with that notion, it's the whole reason why she became hero. And yet she's also always using her powers to save other people, indulging in that same contradiction. If she really believed in Blast's words, why would she even endanger herself and put her life on the line to save people? They shouldn't expect to be saved.
I find that really interesting.
Also in the panel where Tatsumaki wonders when Blast will come back it shows Saitama, subtly implying that Blast DOES at least have something to do with Saitama.
Small things like this make the story so interesting and made this arc one of my favorites.
I think when Blast said that he couldn't expect other people to save her, he meant: "Hey, this time you were lucky because I was around, but the next time you will most likely die. You have to learn to survive on your own". I don't see any contradiction honestly.
Tatsumaki took this as a life lesson and entirely based her life on it. She seems to distrust other people (and it's understandable, since she was betrayed by her own parents) and lives in a total social isolation because she thinks she doesn't need anyone, but at the same time, subconsciously, she is scared that someone might betray her trust again.
"If she really believed in Blast's words, why would she even endanger herself and put her life on the line to save people? They shouldn't expect to be saved" - It's because, like Saitama said, she still wants to connect with people, and she tries to do so by saving them.
ONE is such an amazing storyteller. Too bad his drawings are crap :)

This is honestly my favorite fight in the series I can’t wait for to be adapted in the manga and I really can’t wait to see it animated whenever that happens!
Can’t really call it a fight, Saitama didn’t fight her, it was just her trying as hard as she could to destroy Saitama, and him standing there and tanking everything. If they actually fought, he’d vaporize her in a second.
