How this Cardboard Sculptor Makes Lifelike Human Statues | Obsessed | WIRED - Jak na to + styl
Absolutely fabulous, amazing, and brilliant. Those pieces of art didn't get enough camera time - I want more! The finesse is astounding - with cardboard no less. Who knew? One man can change a point of view and into beauty. Thank you for that. 🌹💖
You guys did a whole 10 minute video on him and his cardboard sculptures but couldn’t even put the mans name in the title. Why couldn’t it have been “How James Lake uses cardboard to make lifelike sculptures”. Impressive video nonetheless
It Is a form of clickbait and making the algorithm promote the video.
Guy ABSOLUTELY DESTROUS Card. You Won't Believe What Happens Next!!
"Why This Guy Rips Open His Neighbors' Amazon Boxes"
They all do this, it’s beyond disrespectful 🤝
8 SECRET Cardboard Tricks BIG PAPER DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT
I used to live in the same building as James. He is a wondeful person with an amazing talent.
Amazing details with such a stiff unyielding material. Very talented
I am glad he never folded.
Wow he is good. He knows his anatomy well.
I got most of the way through the video before noticing that James only has one leg
Edit: I noticed literally just before he mentioned it
Word of the day kids “corrugated”
Right when it couldn't get any more amazing, he reveals he has 1 leg
Wow! I have spent the last 6 weeks on crutches and have found everyday life a challenge. This guys is amazing 👏👏🎉
That's incredible! They are so lifelike - and just cardboard.
Fantastic! An incredibly creative and talented guy!
Mind-blowing
Absolutely brilliant!
Absolutely amazing
I love different types of art but this looks like a pain in the rear to even attempt this at this level
He's the Chairman of the Board
The cardman of the board
Awesome!! Very inspirational talk! Liked the style of approach towards a sculpture with so much of consideration left for the viewers to fill in through the perforations and sense the ecstacy of the art. Usually, 3D sculptures are to be viewed 360 degree. Here you add another dimension to your art to make it 4D(if I may be allowed to). Thanks to you and your art!!
Epitome of Process over Product. True mark of an artist.
AMAZING! Very creative!
Very unique artwork congratulations!
AMAZING. Thanks.
Magnificent art
OMG ... Great inspiration 👍
What a sweet gentleman.
This is amazing.
Fabulous 🎭 artist
There are no mistakes... only happy accidents.
Bob Ross team is here.
That's what my mom called me, minus the "happy". 😋
WoW! This so cool! Like papier-mâché with cardboard.I love cardboard .My first job was breaking down heavy duty boxes for office furniture with a razor knife. I slice boxes open in seconds.
I definitely want to try making a T-Rex head. What is the name of the stiffening agent for material? “Pabapol?
Paverpol. Bit tricky to get in the U.S.A., though.
Thanks Dave
@@davidjaslow6458 You can also try looking for a simple laquor. Like a clear coat for cars that will ideally serve the same purpose. Hobby shops will also have something similar.
@@fmar.8311 I wonder if you could use resin, also. Or maybe mod podge
Un genio, felicitaciones
James Lake is mentioned in my high schools’s art book 🦄💕
Inspirational

Amazing...
And I was so proud Of myself when I made Google cardboard once.
It's amazing
Nice echo-y location
One word.... "Impressive"
Just met him today at school for an art workshop cool guy.
Sería excelente el subtitulado en español, pero igual lo disfruto mirando la técnica.
You do a very great following the human form! And that's what makes your forms human!
Your great master 👏
Good idea
art has always been about unusuality
"this guy" lmao
inspiring
I had a cardboard box fort w/ computer controls in crayon.
What was the sealing agent?
Amazing😊👍
You're amazing!
Genius
hooollyyy crap this is amazing
I really thought that hand was flipping me off through out the video. Had to look at my on hands to know it's pointing at something.
That's super cool 😎 👌
He secretly hunts trolls too!
Is that hand in the background giving the finger?
I would think it's not archival . I would think unless it's sealed , over time it will warp then eventually disintegrate into dust ....but hey eventually everything does , even the finest paintings will fail . Talent off the scale ....
Great idea 😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩😯🙏🏻🙏🏻❤👌🏻
❤

Drink a shot everytime he says "kind of"
Seems as though the reinforced material would make an excellent set of Wallace & Gromit style teeth…
Wonder if he made a cardboard leg.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
As it were
It's pretty admirable how he didn't turn this whole thing into a pity party over his missing leg. Take some notes.
Who is this meant for?
@@st4rf1sh36 people who throws pity parties. kind of obvious
this guy calls himself a cardboard artist yet he's clearly made of flesh like the rest of us

I’m board of these videos.
How about the artists name ??? WTF ???
imagine displaying in an area people visit with their kids and spoiled brats start attacking the sculptures with their fingers and irresponsible self entitled parents laughing and gently telling their kids "don't touch thaaaaat" and laughing. but damage will be done no matter what, OH well.
Good for the bonfire next week.
Hot glue gun... Is it really an art piece if it's toxic to the nature?
Says "kinda" kinda way too much. Kinda.
great technique but the sculptures are just ordinary
people standing, people reaching, people watching the phone
it happens a lot with artists that have a different technique. they tend to think that the technique is enough
I think you should look closer, and think a bit deeper.
@@daniellassam-jones828 a random on the internet telling me how to look at art. sure, buster
Yes I agree they should be doing a few tricks couple of pirouettes singing and dancing. Is definitely not good as Geppetto.😂
ASTAGHFIRULLAH(SWT).
This guy needs to create a massive Shiba Inu crypto coin
A bit too big to be considered ‘lifelike’!!!
Boring
I kind of stopped kind of watching after kind of a couple of kind of minutes!
