- I am a native Russian speaker and in this video I demonstrate several stages of Russian accent. Beginning with a slight accent and all the way to "evil Russian". Russian accents are sometimes misrepresented in movies. The funniest thing about it is when all Russian speak like some kind of mobsters. Although, in a lot of cases this is correct because, well, in a lot of cases Russian movies characters are actually mobsters.
This is not a lesson on how to do a Russian accent, but if you want to master it (for whatever reason), feel free to follow my tips that I give in the video.

The evil one killed me xD so good
Senk you, senks a lot
I'm impressed how easily you can switch between these accents. Also, that you can pronounce "th". We don't have that sound in German either, and I just never can get it to sound right when I try to pronounce it.
Completely agree btw about the accents, as long as we can understand each other, it doesn't matter if we speak with a bit of an accent. I actually quite like most accents, they give the language some character. Except of course the German accent, which is dreadful :P
Having an accent is fine... unless it's German or Rusisian :D
For me the trickiest part is vowels and intonation. Speaking with a different intonation is like walking in a different way, with a different walk, it only works as long as you are concentrated on it.
@@sergeysvids2756 i rlly want to be able yo used russian accent bc of animr character but for real i think im obsess with tussian accent
I wonder what english accents sound like in Russian movies 😉 great video 👍
Thank you! I think they sound like my 2 out of 5 accent. Well, I hope so. Gotta do a little research :)
I remember one serie which called "Как я стал русским" ("How I became Russian")
It's about adventures of American guy in Russia:)
Serie is stupid and there are a lot of stereotypes, but you can hear how sound English accent in Russian movie:)
In any hollywood movie, Russians and Ukrainian s share very similar English accent.
They might be quite similar
That was brilliant thank you 😆
When you did the thick accent you sounded exactly as one friend who lives near Russia when he speaks English

Evil Russian Accent 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The 3/5 is how my host dad speaks
The only problem with people faking russian/ ukrainian/ the likes is that it's a Russian accent hyperimposed above an English accent. Like for instance, read this in a russian accent: "Hello, my name is viktor ivanov". You probably pronounced it like this: Hello, my name is vic•tor Eye•vanov. In writing it would be "Здравствуйте, меня зовут Виктор Иванов". One thing to notice is that Ivanov (иванов) does not start with an "i", but rather a "y" that is pronounced like ē, or ee. Like Henry, my name. So ivanov in a russian accent would sound like eevanov. Another thing to note is that Russians typically emphasise a single vowel in a word; I will use capital letters to visualize this. Ivanov= EEvanov. Hello= haillOH.
There are a many other things to consider when imitating a russian accent convincingly, you must learn how the russian accent sounds while speaking russian. It's not just the pitch and flow of a sentence or word, but specifically how the letters of words interact with eachother.
U r awesome!
#3 and #4 Reminds me of Koslov's voice in Zootopia when he gives his polar bear son the shock collar for the taming party.
I actually kinda like the “evil” one lol 😂
In Polish we also have a hard sounds like R.
i have a very strong russian accent but a slightly high pitched voice. whenever i speak, people are surprised 😭
First two accents are very light but the third one is too heavy. There should be some additional accents in between 😉
I'm Russian but have an American accent .
Your mildest Russian accent sounds more American than the American accent you demonstrated first. (I'm American.)
Americans love the Russian accent 🤣
Six-stsr Russian accent: _LOUD AGGRESSIVE SCREAMING IN RUSSIAN_
Ничонипонил.
you look like chinese people, i am chinese from singapore..... thanks for great video
Russia is huge and has a lot of different ethnic groups that nevertheless speak Russian in a day-to-day life. This guy could be kalmyk, kazakh, udmurt, buryat, hanty, tuvan (there's this one infamous dude from Tuva called Sergey as well, smh) or anybody else for that matter. Those nations actually descent from the same mongolian tribes that the Chinese descent from. My guess is one of the aforementioned groups, but I'm not from the Asian part of Russia to actually identify which one in particular.
ничего сложного в том чтобы переключаться между акцентами нет
