Apex Legends Season 20 Introduced back a prior ranked system and today our goal is to spectate to prove you can improve in Season 20 and really improve. We do this by playing 2 rounds of rookie and then 1 round of gold and really showcase it is not that bad at the moment to hop back in with little repercussions.
We provide tips throughout all these rounds on the flow and the constant mistakes we all make in ranked. But hoping as you learn and see it there is less frustrations and you have a more of a clear path to improve.
If there is anything I want you to step away with is a stronger foundation on rotations, when to push, when to pull away from a fight, but also seeing how even at higher lobbies that YOU CAN do this.
I have faith you watching have a higher potential than you give yourself credit for!

Follow up to last week's spectating series. This one is really important and longer. Its nearly an hour long because really analyzing the flow of ranked and now a week has past, is it good to rank up? We compare also lobbies from two different accounts, but also provide as many tips as possible. Also I did not cry at the end, I was just smiling through the pain! 😛

my #1 observation in ranked is that people are too impatient and just want to die instead of winning the game. See it all day every day.
I also think this ranked system rewards kills way more so people are just eating face
yep and that seems to be true even up to plat and diamond lobbies. a game i just had we got 3 partied by a psycho team, instantly killed my gibby, and my conduit pulls out, i go to stick banner and respawn the gibby, and conduit starts running towards the enemy by herself?!? lol, gibby spawns down, ring has now moved and we are losing HP, but gibby and conduit run directly towards the same enemy that almost killed us, the gibby turns the corner and gets 1-clipped by all 3, conduit follows and gets finished before i can even turn the corner and get LOS on the enemy lol. i just quit from there.
From my personal experience, the random noobs I get stuck with are skirmishers. Literally every game I get with them, they charge into battle, they want to be fast, they want the best gear, they'll ignore you all the time, they trashtalk to you because "Why you didn't push with me???!!!". I'm over here playing legends that will help better overall in the field, instead of using a skirmish legend for movement and speed. They even won't think on how to change the situation to make it better for their teammates. All they every care is being the top. But not with these negative traits. And one of the legends I'm rocking right now to rank up is Crypto. Shocker yes, but I've been able to win more fights and win matches thanks to the upgrade perks they put in this season. I would rather play with a team with control and support rather then a movement legend
@@VengefulSoul66 Lol maybe we’d be good together. I play conduit cuz i like seeing my teammates survive to win the game together. But you don’t need to play a support character to be a good teammate. You can play any legend comp and still win the game simply by being a good teammate. So many players just write that off before they even drop from the ship. Even when my teammates are douchebags to me i still try to help them and keep them alive and cover for them.. Because if they do well, i’ll do well too.. idk why that’s so hard for some people to believe. Kudos on playing crypto though, i’ve been trying to get the hang of him but i have to admit he is very difficult to master! Gunna try again with these perks he’s got now.
I don’t think it’s being impatient all the time. So times when they get into the fight they make bad decisions
My recommendation for everyone here who feels stuck, is to say what you’re doing and planning on doing out loud. Some teammates not like it but you don’t have to talk to anyone, just speaking your plan into the world helps you realize how bad your plan actually is. For example, “ok so we are gonna push fragment and rotate over to harvester” but you might think “ok well I hear a big fight in that area and it’s a choke point, maybe we hit train yard and rotate behind them” just saying it out loud stops you from playing on auto pilot
I found this to help me a lot, ive been putting it into practice. I go as far as to name every lil thing I do, like looking left or right etc.
@@FocusMind-vn1sy exactly, it immediately puts you in an outside perspective of yourself. It’s like watching a character do something stupid but also doing the same thing
i do this when i play my friends and i somehow became IGL of my team lmfao. I mainly do it to come up with the best decision. If i mess up, i am able to figure what i could've done different. For example, on the mountain between wall and zeus station, the ring was ending in that area. We were at the top by zeus and a team was in the train building. I decided to evac and was hoping we could land in the platform form on the hill and hold that until the ring ended. (ring did end up ending right in front of that platform) but i didn't come up with a back up plan if the platform was taken. I messed up and we had to land low ground and we survived a bit, but we got destroyed trying to go up the hill. In conclusion, in this situation i think the best option was to create an opening and kill the team in train building or evac later when i had more information of team locations.
All of this i basically talked to myself and teammates and now i know what i can do different in other similar situations.
Cant tell you how many times people hop on the mic AFTER they get wiped for such a bad choice. Talk to people before you act or if we need to know someones on you

I learned about grieving from watching you play. As a skirmish horizon main, i can tend to poke when im feeling spicy. It has led to some really fun matches, tough losses, and frustration. But, I love it.

Your point on people (including pros) criticizing other people's play styles is on the money. It's usually hypocritical, and there's no way to play an engagement without them malding or saying it's dumb. Mentality and perspective is so important in this game, yet it seems the vast majority (including big names) are caught up in their vitriol.
I hope people understand I am rooting for them. It is all an ego things when higher tier players make those comments. They should understand they are playing to their strengths and looking to win. When they comment that, its because their a possibility you can win. You are stalling them in a fight if you play positioning well, and it can be alarming for good players when they cannot steam roll a team.

As a new player who is consistently improving I recommend watching different pros controller setup, play lots of gun run and deathmatch for combat experience, spectate all players, use the range to practice and drill
Dude, I RARELY comment on videos but I just had to say, I have been playing Apex since Season 3, I have been watching ALGS, Wiggs streams, Boomrazzle, Kandy, and Noko for years and I have learned more in this video than I have in awhile. Bravo my man.

Two of the most IMPORTANT things I have learned in this vid:
1. You don't have to make stupid plays with your tmates if u think it is dumb.
2. you have to develop a feeling of when to disengage in a fight
(Make quick decisions if you are going to make push or disengage in a fight, don't take to long to make that decision if you are in a fight!)

My biggest self improvement was mindset. I always put myself down for shit aim but as long as you can hit 50% of ur shots you can hit pred. positioning and playing smart will ultimately make you a better player than just aim training.

This some best coaching. I am doubting myself to play ranked. I have been playing since OG days. Have thought about playing ranked. And now seeing his coaching skills on repositions and take vantage. This is what I need to focus on. And looking at playing as Vantage as a Main due to being an information gatherer. Awesome video Dazs
Ever since they introduced perk to Vantage, especially that ring console buff, ive gaining so much RPs and ive getting more smart teammates. ive mostly solo queued all the way into plat IV and its such a nice QOL for her.
IMO shes very slept on right now, would even put my leg up and say shes very underrated in Comp scene, someone who can be flexible to entry fragger, IGL, & Anchor role
Love the spectating series. As a new player, it's very helpful to just hear the basics being pointed out (like sticking together and continuously sticking to cover).
I was also going to give you credit for having the most creative character names with "Not_SoaR_Dazs" and "Maybe_SoaR_Dazs"...but then you started spectating "Squeak "Lil Bitch" Scolari" during the first game, and it's just GGs for most creative name after that lol

I feel like all the pros that complain about people playing slow and with cover in games are just upset that they are playing correctly and they expected it to be an easy game/fight and their good play is slowing down the fight and making the situation harder and more complicated. It doesn't come off as real advice or judgement, and rather being upset that they are playing properly and making their game more difficult

I solo q 99% of the time I Hit diamond multiple seasons stepped away season 13 and came back season 19 and I think Ranked this season is better than last and overall the games were great until I got to gold 4 been hard stuck for a couple days just seems like I’m just getting lit up before I can do anything or the team synergy is off even when I try to communicate and we die it’s maddening
I'm still in plat 4 and i just got rolled by a top 200 pred, its kind of demoralizing. I've been stuck in plat for a bit now

For how long will the gold lobby be filled with diamonds and higher? For how long it usually takes?
Its subjective no one knows. A pred could get into a gold lobby by luck because their "queue time" took too long. But its unknown why or the duration.

apex ranked is great right now except for the fact (idk if its just me) i keep going up against masters/preds and like diamond 1 and 2s while im plat 1 at the moment (while solo queing btw) other then that ranked is poggers
Yeah, I mean in 50% of solo q ranked games I die to someone with a master or diamond badge and im in gold 2. They are gold 2 as well right now, so the matching is right in that sense. But it is kinda disheartening. It is like you try to climb up from some lower soccer league and Leo Messi has been reset to lower league as well and is on the other team.
my problem is my aim, i'm a gold player and while i do think that from a "strategic" poin i'm good, or at least better then most enemies, my aim actually sucks, i played around with mouse sensibility but i don't know how to get better, i did improve over the last year since i started playing but i'm kinda stuck with my current aim
i also realized that i'm better at higher distance which is why i play more on distance, but i'm bad at close combat, i especially suck with shot guns, for some reason i can't hit anything with it, don't ask me why XD
ok nevermind i just realized i played with a DPI of 3200, i fixed it and now i'm already gold1 XD

The fact in the first game u decided to not push a 2 man before the res, then say u and your team were fighting to long and that’s why u got thirded. Nah should have been called to push the 2 man after fulling their third and if u guys die to a 2man that’s just a skill diff.
Again, I wish every scrub ass pub player would watch these and learn. Learn that you can play as a team without mics by using common sense. Everyone thinks they're the main character when they play. I'm getting tired of these people.
You don't have to push everything but in low ranks why not? You gain way more rp for killing than placements now so it's a faster climb
Oh my god, have you been listening to my games, this game is not that hard if you think!! At least your chances improve to make it further in the match. I play solo, it's like talking to a brick wall trying to explain to randoms exactly what you said about positioning, how long the fight takes, actually backing out of fight, etc..... So many people don't get it, it's frustrating for sure when playing ranked.
I’ll take pubs any day over ranked with trashy randoms tryna hot drop… no reason to drop hot starting off at Rookie 4.

Sorry to say but the ranked system in apex is the biggest trash I have ever seen😂 why in Jesus name if you hit predator once are getting reset to rookie every season again. Makes 0 sense. You should get placed in the area around of your former rank. I am so sick of having to play preds in silver lobbies
