    You've just picked up those awesome new glasses you were so excited about, but your world is looking, erm, strange! What happens now depends on a huge range of factors, and your optician can help get you on the right track! but here are some of the more common issues with prescription and what we find. Learn a little about what goes on in the eye and brain for adapting to new glasses and why sometimes, it just takes time, but that isn't always what's needed. It should also be noted, as I didn't mention in the video, sometimes these feelings can be experienced even with the same prescription just in a new frame style! 🤯

    Thanks for the information. Just got my first pair of glasses at 35 years old. Trying to understand why everything feels weird. Makes sense.

      The prescription is often not the problem. The problem is frequently the lens cutters and fitters. Lens are bent or incorrectly cut.
      Purchase two pairs of glasses with the same prescription but different frames, guaranteed one will have issues.

    Been wearing glasses since grade school could never see blackboard. Even tho major in Health Ed and Psychology no one ever expained the job the brain must do to help the eyes focus with glasses. Thanks I get it now. Having first time trouble focusing one eye with new glasses. Will give it time before throwing my rage at the eye doc.

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před rokem +1

      Good luck! Be nice to the doc though 😂😂. Unfortunately they’re at a bit of mercy of what our brains and eyes WANT to see and the objective can only take vision so far sometimes 😎. Niceness always leads to the best result in the end 😁👍

    Omg , my new glasses feels like they have a glare . I see fine if I put my hands around the side of my glasses (blocking my side vision). Is this normal on Day 2 of new glasses. My prescription got stronger for distance and I have a astigmatism.

  • @wiZZelify
    @wiZZelify Před rokem +1

    Ais it possible to se as an astigmatism person even you have glasses(first week glasses for astigmatism)?

  • @StarDemz

    Unfortuanly I don't have a natrual lense in my eyes would this still be why one side is blury when it's being up plus?

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před 2 lety +1

      Very likely. With no lens inside the eye you're gonna have extraordinary plus power in your glasses lens (+14 or greater). Not only are the optics not great through these kinds of lenses peripherally but central acuity usually isn't anything spectacular either. This is really just a case of the nature of the natural limits at play

    Will it look extra weird if you only have cylinder and axis in one lense even if it's a low power like -.75? This is my first pair of glasses and they also have prisms in both lenses.

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před rokem +3

      Not significantly so, my personal rx is spherical in one eye and 0.50 cyl in the other 🙂

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před 2 lety

      throwing this comment in with your original I HIGHLY suspect a mismatch of frame to wearer + RX creating a whoel host of problems. High powers in particular in more wrapped frames require much more fitting knowledge than average, and you can't just measure and plug in the numbers to get a good result.

    Interesting. I wonder if my doctor went light on this pair since its the first progressive trifocal.... I needed them so badly it was actually giving me dry eye to live in my single vision old pair. Now I have to watch your "Progressive Glasses For the Computer" video....

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před 3 lety +2

      It makes such a huge difference to get into them when needed 😁. Not likely they backed things off much, if at all for a first time add 🙂. But, it's all very subjective and everyone has their own refractive choices to make too. Retracting is definitely as much art as science 🤣❤

    I just got a new prescription from a new doctor. And my left eye jumped from a -1.75 to a -3.25 and I just picked the glasses up today and I really think maybe there was a typo or an error usually every couple years I go -.25. In each eye. This year, my right eye stay the same in the left head that massive jump and I’m having trouble seeing up close in the left eye. do you think it was a mistake

    • @nickpowell7432

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před rokem +1

      Sounds like you’re on the edge of needing a progressive more than anything. Where the extra minus would show its benefit is far distances. Walk outside. See how the world looks.
      This is a great conversation to have with your prescribing doctor though, as it could be the rx is overpowered as well. Lots of variables here.

    • @nickpowell7432
      @nickpowell7432 Před rokem +1

      @@ThatGlassesGuy03 yeah I’m definitely gonna talk to him. It’s like focusing is really weird. If I close one eye it’s blurry for a second and then gets clear it’s that way with both eyes. Things look a tiny bit smaller with the left eye. And it’s hard to get both eyes to focus on something far away.

    I wear glasses for 20 years now. So I'm familiar with them.
    Lately i saw the doctor, and i changed glasses and frame because of astigmatism. After, vision was blurry.
    So i went to another doctor and results were the same. He said that glasses are also good. And he didn't understand why i can't see clearly.
    Two weeks now, and still blurry. Don't know what to do.

    • @ThatGlassesGuy03
      @ThatGlassesGuy03  Před rokem +1

      Tough to say with this little info. The starting point for them to problem solve would be using the original pair before the new rx that is giving you trouble (assuming the old glasses were clear to you). It could also be something going on with the eyes themselves limiting vision, but I’m assuming not the case based on the way this is worded and assuming the glasses before your new exams were indeed clear to you.

      @ThatGlassesGuy03 I'm having the same problem to, my old glasses are clear and I'm able to see out of them but with my new ones everything is all blurry and zoomed in and makes it harder for me to see out of, even reading is hard.

      This video has more detail, but hyperopic changes this is extremely common. Of course it’s always worth chatting with your doctor or optician to ensure your rx is indeed correct, but after four years and a shift to more plus power this is just the way it works. That goes away in time. I would venture your arms length and closer vision is significantly improved though ;)
