@@grzegorzjanowski8353 The Romantics - Talking in Your Sleep

I can't understand record companies, I've bought Cds after viewing videos and hearing tracks on CZcams.
@@somerandomguy_musicWhat happened to Young MC? He is also a two hit wonder since his songs from the 90’s didn’t reach Top 40 in America. Unless you ran out of space which is understandable, I guess.
Never appreciated being able to live through the 80's as much as I do now.
80s music is the best.
These songs bring back so many great memories for me. The 80’s had such awesome music, and they were some of the best years of my life!!! ❤
Never heard of some of these songs, but now I've got some to make a playlist with. Some of these songs were pure gold, like both from Men Without Hats and the two from Mr. Mister.
I always loved Johnny Logan, he's basically the Patron Saint of Eurovision when it comes to my family. He performed twice, and wrote another winning entry!
Умеешь поднять настроение, спасибо🎉.
Nací en el '89 pero amo los clásicos 💘❤️🔥. GRACIAS. Saludos desde Argentina
The 80's was the best era in music and had so many various artists that were so great..
Спасибо автору канала за отличные подборки с описанием. Благодаря ему создал для себя огромный плейлист первоклассной музыки 70-х и 80-х.
Oh wow the singer of Eighth Wonder is stunning 🤩
WAS stunning :-)
Patsy Kensit? She costarred in Lethal Weapon 2 and a few other films.
She left the music industry and went into acting....on both the big screen, and small screen. Was even in a British soap for a while (Emmerdale?).
She was also married to Jim Kerr (lead singer of Simple Minds), and later Liam Gallagher (former lead singer of Oasis).
Ratt (Hard Rock/Glam Metal band from USA) was also a two-hits wonder during the 80's with "Round And Round (it peaked at #12 in USA) and "Lay It Down" (it peaked at #40 in the USA).
They had more songs than that like Wanted Man, Way Cool Jr., You're in Love, Ect.
So many of them I've never knew they even had a second hit. 😅
when I was young 😔
TY so much for the content! my day is a bit brighter any time there is a new post on your channel
I never knew Fairground Attraction had a second hit. I love how this channel brings some new knowledge. Thank you!
I think they were planning to split up very early on, around this singles release.
🍻"s SRG Mr Mister welcome to the Real World 🌎 is 1 of my favourite albums ❤️ much ❤ love from Derbyshire England yet again 😂🎧
I live in Ireland and I never knew Eddie Murphy was a 2 hit wonder.
That was so entertaining and very interesting!:)🥰I absolutely love the 80s💛 thanks some random guy ✌️💖🤩
"St Elmo's Fire" is the most American song ever, though it was sung by a Brit, about a Canadian! 😂
Man in motion
For the Movie also starring the stars of the 80s the Brat Pack
I thought of a few others that meets the criteria, at least with the US charts:
Chilliwack- My Girl, I Believe (also had a #41 hit in 1982 with Whatcha Gonna Do)
Pretty Poison- Catch Me I'm Falling, Nighttime
Jermaine Stewart- We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off, Say It Again
Vixen- Edge Of A Broken Heart, Cryin'
Icehouse- Crazy, Electric Blue
Brenda K. Starr- I Still Believe, What You See Is What You Get
Berlin also technically falls into this category with their two Top 40 hits Take My Breath Away and No More Words. I don't believe they should be considered a two hit wonder because The Metro (#58 song from 1983) is the most popular with their fans and is well known from the 1980's.
Eighth Wonder lead singer was also in the movie "Lethal Weapon 2," as Martin Riggs's love interest.
I love "Hair Metal"! It's so 80's!
I want to thank Sidney Youngblood, because thanks to his wonderful song, "if only I Could" from 1989, I discovered the new disco music, approaching all those dance genres (house and then techno) that would come in the 90s. gave the will to live, in a period in which my dear father had passed away.
Eighth Wonder was one of the greatest!
Fun memories
Thanks for nice songs 👌 🍃 🍀 1980
Linda música parabéns pra você que Deus te abençoe sempre você 👍
Thanks For Sharing!
Always enjoy your content, love jamming to your song selection.
In France, Glenn Medeiros had a 3rd Hit : "Un roman d'amitié" (sang both in French & English) in 1988 duet with the young french Singer Elsa - the song was nr 1 =)
Yes, you're right, it's the only country where he had a third hit.
Didn't he also chart well there with Lonely Won't Leave Me Alone?
@@Asukenickthat's brilliant backup song after Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You
@@paultreadaway102 He is very talented.
@@Asukenick yeap scary he was 17 in 87 woe i was having the time of my life talented swag above his years the songs and all the Emotions sending us now
Eight Wonder were not a wonder of only 2 hits! In Italy they were very famous before 1988, because they reached top 10 already in 1986 with Stay with me and then in 1987 with Will you remember! They had also 2 more singles in the charts: When the phone stops ringing and Baby baby. Stay with me, their first single, reached even No.1 in the Hit Parade of Rai, the state television. You know in Italy we did not have an official ranking until 1996 but we had three rankings of three specialised magazines, but the one linked to the television state was then the most universally accredited. The date you find today on Wikipedia are from the magazine Musica & Dischi, where Stay with me still reached number 4.
Yes, Italy was the only country where they had more than 2 hits.
@@somerandomguy_musicI have no access to Japanese charts, but already before the European Hit I’m not scared then they were presented in Italian Tv as a band coming off a huge success in that country!
@@somerandomguy_music I am Italian and I find it surprising that "Stay with me" has not been successful in the UK.
Among the Italian singers is missing Ivana Spagna that entered the charts in the UK with the songs "Call me" and "Every Girl And Boy". (In Italy the second most famous song was "Easy lady")
Fantastic! (wow) ✨
Kim Wilde. First hit: Kids In America. Second hit: You Keep Me Hanging On. Johnny Hates Jazz: First hit: Shattered Dreams. Second hit: I Don't Want To Be A Hero.
Kim Wilde has had 14 UK top 20 hits. Johnny Hates Jazz also had Turn Back the Clock.
Kim Wilde, 2 hits...
Yeah... of course
I Miss The Songs From The 80's
Music changed DRAMATICALLY in the 90s, rap and hiphop took over, sadly IMO.
I didn't know almost any of the "second hits". :P
More musicians that passed away 🙏🏽
So tragic
1:58 A very underappreciated voice imo.
It's funny how sometimes the second song is catchier (e.g. Kyrie, Sit and Wait) and even more famous (e.g St. Elmo's Fire).
I really love Kyrie.
It's like a sequel to a Movie its equal or could be slightly better that with Try Again by Champaign and Find My Love by Fairground Attraction
I got to find a cd with Fairground attraction !
Will to Power had those 2 hits that were high on the Hot 100, sure, but the group also had 2 other songs that were popular in the clubs in the '80s and I know the group a bit more for those songs.
Ok, the best of these are, I just died, perfect, find my love, st elmos fire, stop the cavalry, separate lives, broken wings, kyrie, I can't wait, if only I could, wild thang,
Thank you for the work.
Until this video, I didn’t realize Martika’s “Cross My Heart” was a cover of Eighth Wonder, who sang the OG.
I'm actuly surprised about the low success of Johnny Logan. 😮
Well that brought back some memories.
Most of those, I haven't heard in ages.
Terrific SRG 🎉
Crowded house: Don’t dream it’s over and Something so strong
Dead or alive: You spin me round (like a record) and brand new lover
Animotion: Obsession and room to move
Alphaville: Forever Young and Big in Japan
Naked eyes: Always something there to remind Me and Promises, Promises
I ❤ Til Tuesday debut record.
Stephanie of Monaco is actually a more than decent singer.
The head of Mr. Mister, Richard Page was very successful as songwriter, writing for Kenny Loggins, Madonna, Céline Dion, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Dionne Warwick, The Pointer Sisters, Meat Loaf, Patti LaBelle, Hall & Oates, Al Jarreau, Leona Lewis...
That was the chick from the Lethal Weapon II. (8th Wonder)
Never knew Stephanie of Monaco recorded music . .
I’ve never heard of many of these songs
Some of these ive never heard of, im from Europe maybe thats why, good video.
But I'm from Europe, and in UK we had the top 20 hits in other countries would come up and play the song or some of the music video!
Also on sky with MTV-Europe etc...
@mikekaraoke I never had sky TV when I was a kid, in the uk we pretty much only played the uk charts.
Nice. Thanks!
Not surprised to learn that 'Mister Mister', and 'Cutting Crew' each had a string of hits in the US; as opposed to just two hits each, here in the UK. They were both 'tailormade' for the American market, as Americans loved that kind of 'soft rock' music back then.
White Lion seen them supporting Motley Crue 1989 Birmingham England with Skid Row what a Gig Brother 👍
Glass Tiger could have qualified for this video (in the US; they had a really good chart run in their native Canada). "Don't Forget Me" and "Someday" were top ten hits, but their subsequent top 40 singles stalled at #31 and #34.
I was surprised to find out "Send Me an Angel" was released in 1983. It sounds *way* ahead of its time, and if you'd told me it came out in 1995 I would have believed it.
Fun list
Hope you had a great Day. 💞
Love your Videos. 💕
Greetings from Germany. ❣️
❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤🩶🤍
White Lion had also a USA Top 10 hit with their Remake if the Golden Earring song " Radar Love"
The only one I had no idea had a second hit was Stephanie.
Cool 🥰
What about for the UK Belouis Some with Imagination & Some People, Pepsi & Shirlie with Heartache & Goodbye Stranger, Robbie Nevil with Cest La Ve & Dominoes, Philip Bailey with Easy Lover & Walking On The Chinese Wall, Ray Parker Jr with Ghostbusters & I Don't Think That Man Should Sleep Alone, Mai Tai with History & Body & Soul, Steve Arrington with Feel So Real & Dancing In The Key Of Life, Cool Notes with In Your Car & Spend The Night, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam with I Wonder If I Take You Home & Let the Beat Hit 'Em, Red Box with Lean On Me & For America, Ryuichi Sakamoto with Bamboo Houses & Forbidden Colours, Icehouse with Hey Little Girl & Crazy, Audrey Hall with Smile & One Last Dance to name but some, I know my 2 hit wonders (& I have every single one on 7 inch LOL)
I simply can't agree on this, Johnny Logan had a tonnes of other hits. Mostly in Europe, and also in the 90- till now. And men without hats, had several hits
White Lion also had a 3rd hit called "Little Fighter"!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
4:32 Wait, that voice wasn't Naomi Campbell? 😲 But seriously, thanks for the trivia about Stéphanie.
Real Life hatte zumindest in Deutschland noch 2 andere Hits 1. Always und 2. Face to Face 😊
White Lion ( from Danmark ?)also had a Big Hit with a remake of the song " Radar Love" a former Hit by the Dutch Rock Group Golden Earring who also wrote it.
The band Quiet Riot sound a bit like quite a few 80's Hard Rock bands from the 80s like Poison and early Bon Jovi
Pretty sure that was Sam Brown signing back up vocals on Life in a Northern Town.
At 5:07 Tone Loc? I think he broke into movies in the 90s. I think he was one of the Miami detectives in Ace Ventura Pet Detective
2:12 This song hits different knowing the background. 😢
Slade had only 2 top 40 hits on the US chart EVER and they were in the 80s. Run Runaway was #20 in 1984 and My Oh My made #39 also in 1984.
Good
Los Lobos had another hit, “will the wolf survive 1984”
And “one time one night “ 1988
I can tell this isn't US specific because I don't know a lot of these songs
Seriously. There are a ton of No Hit Wonders in there
1:45 The probably most added and removed song in my Spotify. ^^
Amalia
1st hit:Da ne se sledim(2005)
2nd hit:Moqta teritoriq(2006)
2000s edition
Actually Jona Lewis also had a big hit with Louise. So not just two hits.
How about Bucks Fizz? I know they had a long career, but I can only think of 2 major hits. Mind you, I guess you could say the same about T'pau.
Bucks Fizz had only 2 big hits in Continental Europe but many in the UK. Same with T'Pau.
Three numbers ones in the UK, two of them in a row.
Any colour = Cutting crew
I don't think that charted.
I thought will to power's 2nd hit was dreamin'. ?
'Dreamin' was their debut single. It only reached number 50 in the US.
What about Louise by Jona Lewie?
Didn't "Radar Love" by White Lion also break the top 20 in the United States and/or Canada?
2:40 I've already wondered who she's and why I've never heard of hers. Guess I now have my answer lol.
PATT♡
1:14 2:28 2:55 3:05 3:11 and 4:18 😍
1:37
4:36
What are the titles of the songs playing at 3:20? It didn't sound like the 2 previous by Mr. Mister
Is It Love & Something Real
@@somerandomguy_music Ans they were both hits in the US, so they are are 4 hit singles wonder not 2!
@@mikekaraoke The video clearly states that they were two-hit wonders in Europe and Australia BUT NOT in the US.
So White Lion only had two hits? 😢
that surprised me too. I thought Tell Me was a hit but I guess it didn't chart well. Still, Tell Me is one of my favorite hair metal songs.
204
I swear I thought the second hit for Cutting Crew is "One for the Mockingbird". 😄
Glenn M. = George Michael wannabe 🙄
"St. Elmo's Fire" always reminds me of DeadPool. 😅
Eighth Wonder, Fairground Attraction, Johnny Logan, Joan Lewie, Stephanié, Sydney Youngblood, are No Hit Wonders. Who are they?
They all had hits in the UK/Europe not in North America.
@@somerandomguy_music That explains it. Keep up the good work. Enjoy the channel
Naked eyes?
They had two big hits in the US which peaked at no. 8 & no.11 and then two smaller top 40 hits (no. 37 & no. 39).
1:01 I hate this one so much.
You're working with a pretty loose definition of hit, my man 😎👌
