Same thing happened with me during pandemic but luckily our ship reached dubai and their signing off was easy and spent 3 days in a 5 star hotel enjoyed and got a flight back homs

People have done 11 - 12 months, exceeded their contracts from 6 months to 11 or 12 still never saw them crying like you.

Don't worry, he won't leave, he knows the pay cheque is worth all the pain and mood swings and on top of that there's CZcams on which he covers mostly his ship life

Is worked in the pilothouse in the navy. We did 9 months without touching shore once. Everyone went legit insane. People commiting crimes just to be sent to trial on shore...

I did 12 months in one go during covid as chief mate on an oil tanker , also same time i attended a dry dock ,but i understood that that's the part and parcel of life . When you come to sea you have to be ready to face the unexpected . Either you have in it you or you don't. That's why we are seaman not ordinary men
