    Great video! I watched a few times before deciding to do it myself. Kia Dealership wanted $900 + tax for the new intake manifold but I found it online from Kia Parts Direct for $600. No telling how much my local Kia Dealership would have charged on top of the material cost for LABOR!! I ordered the intake manifold, it arrived in a few days and I started removing the old one. Sure enough, the part that broke was the piece you showed at 4:00 min into your video... cheap plastic. But I just went ahead and replaced the entire unit. Engine runs smoother and sounds great now! Thanks for posting this video! Great job!!

    Thanks for taking the time to make and post this video. I have a 2011 4 banger Sorento only 6 speed. That code just showed up today for the first time. I reset it but I'm sure it will be back. I hate all these plastic gear driven actuators. I have only just finished replacing the heater blend door actuator and selector. I guess here I go again. Still better than a car payment!!

    Thank you for the helpful video! I got the same P200A error code on my 2011 Sorento. I found your video and decided to give it a shot. I ordered the part from the same place after looking around myself and being unsuccessful to find it locally and finding it cheaper anywhere else online. After about 5 hrs, the intake manifold was replaced and I had no more check engine light on. I'll be getting the smog test in the next couple of days, so let's hope it passes now.

    This is biggest flaw from Hyundai, Kia and any other cars that uses the same VCM Control Motor. It is small plastic part between the link that gets dry rot because of heat, then breaks into many pieces and the flap would not open or close fully and you lose the power. So everyone please just change the Part #28323-2G300 for P200A, Intake Runner Performance Bank 1 code. You do not have to spend so much for new manifold. Thanks and good luck!

    Watched your video and used it to change my intake. Cleared the code right away. Just wondering if you've had any issues with the dreaded P300 code. Random misfire. Starts as I'm going down the highway. Usually always when I'm around 65mph. The car runs like crap. If I pull over and turn the car off it stops and runs fine again. Its a 6 speed manual 2.4L . I have checked the Purge valve and Evap canister vent valve. Both Ok. Canister seems ok too. It seems to do it more after a fill up so the Evap system was my first thought. But everything seems fine. I know a lot of Sorento owners are having this issue. Are you ?

    Any tips on getting the 2 bottom bolts reattached? I tried dropping the plastic pan from bottom but there seems to be 2 clips that I can’t get to that will allow it to drop out. Also did you replace the injector o’rings and what would you recommend to use to get the injectors to slide into the manifold easier?

    • @zx9green791
      @zx9green791  Před 5 lety

      The last two clips are a pain but you can get them just bend the plastic down a little bit. I reuse the O-rings they looked perfect just get them a little bit lubed with a little soapy water or spit.

Finally got the 2 bottom bolts in, torqued everything down, started putting the wiring harness attached and realized there was one wire connector that was lodged between the engine and intake manifold so got to take is apart and get that wire connector out!! Feedback - Just got a recall on this. Kia thinks they can upgrade the ECM to fix the P200A code. "Upgrade event name 162. XM 2.4L P200A DTC logic improvement" Intake manifold runner performance. What a joke. You can't fix mechanical breaks with software. They are recalling for the knock sensor too. Which is related to my misfire issue. Once again ECM upgrade to fix crank knock issues related to bad de-burr of the engine at mfg. leading to blocked oil galleys and crank bearing failure. Knock sensor upgrade would probably make my issue worse since its kicking in limp mode already (misfire - two cylinder cut-back) which on s 6 speed doesn't slow me down. Next - Removal of the knock sensor and ignore the idiots at KIA !!

      If you have the unit out (17:20). Measure the inside diameter (remove the 3 bolts on motor). Then measure the drive on the motor (3:40 from other video).
      I used the PCV plumper pipe.
      ATG gave wonderful tips, use the Hot Glue Gun thing.
      Shoot the Glue Gun on the Motor's Drive.
      Wait for it to cold down.
      Full out the cool Jig mold.
      Now, you can cut & sand for that perfect fit.
      Then you this mold and make measurement to make a better one.
      If you can do it, then it's around $275.00 for the motor.
      ATG suggests to also make sure you have all those flappers fully cleaned & greased before putting in the new motor.
