When Jokic gets it in the low post & the low defender comes to double at all it’s crazy how quickly Jokic hits Gordon at the rim. And if no double comes it’s an automatic bucket.

What is not often talked about is how well coached the Nuggets are. between Malone and Jokic
they are just to damned smart. Jokic has moves he hasn't even shown people yet. Jokic is a
force of nature minus the hopps. Murray when healthy is unstoppable. it is their time.

    • @vlada
      @vlada Před 2 měsíci +7

Adam Mares broke a story in training camp about a Serbian coach (their pop) who tells the story how Jokic watched videos of his coaching seminars and then contacted him with a list of questions about the topics he covered. As well, Jokic gave the coach a series of variations on existing plays for the coaches own club. The coach says he saw last season a few twists him and Jokic talked about in the Denver offense and he used Jokić's variations on his own team.
It seems that's what Jokic does in the summer as he confirmed the story when asked about it and named the NBA and euro coaches he listened the past summer.
It says a lot about you star player who supposedly doesnt like basketball that he does that and I can totally see Malone trust Jokic to try new things.
The bond between Malone is Jokic is very strongboth emotionally & intellectually... Malone saw something only Tim Connelly did and gave Jokic the keys to the car and trusted him and Jokic has give back in kind.
I can see them retiring together.

jj is SPOT ON w the 2 on the ball thing. actually its two on 1 guy...bc steph doesnt even need the ball to draw two crazy
this is why i think jokic is slightly overrated!!
when joker doesnt have a physical advantage he doesnt draw 2 was well as a lot of guys. kyrie for instance has the ball handling and shotmaking to draw two even when his defender has the advantage physically. older kobe used his footwrk and shotmaking despite declining physically. like i mentioned b4 stephs motor and shotmaking draw 2 when he doesnt have the ball and id say hes at a physical disadvantage more often than not. giannis literally ALWAYS has a physical advantage. embiid too. i think luka has a physical advantage on offense more often than jokic and his a tougher shot maker than jokic etc...
n this is to say nothing of the defensive side of the ball where joker is usually at a disadvatge physically.
i think jokic makes up for all this by being the best decision maker in basketball period. he's one with their system and is the best reading defenses. he knows how to use his teammates to create advantages for himself or others in their teams actions. hes a step a head of every1 at all times - on both sides of the ball. even if his body cant always keep up on d (pause), he's rotating early or has his hands in passing lanes bc he anticipates where the ball needs to go to in order to compromise the defense further.
that being said i value drawing 2 + the defensive end enough to put giannis above jokic in my rankings. luka is a more impactful offensive player than jokic imo but his speed makes him too much of a liabily defensively to put over jokic. steph n sga's size and relative deficiencies playmaking hurt them but they are better iso guys imo. tatum is the best combo of physical tools n offensive n defensive skillset, but hes not THE BEST at any one thing in the league outside of his versatility. embiid is the best player in the league when hes healthy n in shape but his injury and playoff history hold him back...
all that to say my rankings rn are: Giannis, Jokic, Embiid, Steph, Tatum, SGA, Luka

Now they finally get to do it a few years later thanks to Murray returning healthy, and the Warriors starting to age doesn’t hurt either. Scary to think what could have been, if Murray didn’t go down. Denver could honestly three peat right now and it wouldn’t surprise me at all.

"Are there any easy matchups for any Western Conference team in the 1st round?" I mean, if the Pelicans and Kings somehow met in the 1st round there is. The Kings have absolutely no answer for the Pelicans size. And Herb Jones has made Fox's life hell. But that's not a likely matchup. Would require both teams closing the season on a heater to get up to the 4 and 5 seeds.

As a Bucks fan I will admit I have only watched maybe 5-10 Boston games this year. They traded away most of the players they used in the past to stop or slow down Giannis. "Big AL" is the only one on the roster that I have seen give Giannis trouble. Is AL still got enough legs? or is there some other plan I am missing because no way Porzingis is going to stop him. I am really asking. I did see some 7 footer's on the roster but I barely glanced at the names or nothing stuck out.

For me this fact is what’s going to give them issues in the finals. They are going to have to find doubles on almost every Western Matchup: Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, Minnesota.
Let’s be honest aside from Embiid who are the Celtics worried about on Offense? Jalen? (no knock on Brunson, but come on now. He’s out there on his own.) Jimmy? Donovan? I mean as per usual the Eastern Conference has 1, maybe 2 realistic champion contenders?
