Thanks Alex. Great video and a lot of details I was looking for.
You are welcome 😀 I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Best guide I've seen for this task .
Many thanks.
Thank you very much!
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Both rears done (before the rain!)
Did the fronts a couple of days ago and had an absolute bitch of a slider pin to get out.
Fab video - made this an easy job, thanks Alex
Lovely 😀 thank you
This is a great video. Thanks so much.
Awesome 👌 thank you
Thanjs, excellent video. One thing; I find just a large flat screwdriver works fine winding the caliper piston back in.
Thank you. Yep it does 😀 as long as they aren't very tight
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Very nice💥 remember to clean the hub, and rotor faces" flat and clean ! And grease' those caliper pins, with "silacone" grease !!!
Thank you. Yep that's it 😀
Thanks!
You are welcome. Let me knowif you need any more help.
I'm doing video on front brakes next week.
Nice video! I'm doing mine this week and this will make life easier! You mention turning the piston clockwise when you did the nearside, is it clockwise on both sides?
Thank you very much 😀
Can't remember of the top of my head.
You will see if it goes in then its the correct way 😀
Hi. Both my rear calipers turned clockwise
Hi Alex, what fluids would you recommend to use on my DPF filter on my Vw golf 1.6tdi as it’s sooted up? Car lacks power, PDF light on in dashboard? Thanks
Hello there.
I use Wynn's dog cleaner in fuel tank and then usually do at least 30 min drive on motorway doing same speed on around 3000 rpm to get it hot enough and clean it up. Also your car should come in to dpf cleaning mode and that's where 5th injector should inject more fuel to help exhaust getting hotter.
AlexTheGrumpyOne hi Alex you’re confusing me with the 5th injector m8 as it’s only got 4? I’ve done 90 miles of pretty hard driving already and light still on dashboard? I put a bottle of forte dpf in tank? Would you recommend the cans off spray directly in filter from engine side? I was running my car on 3 injectors for about 10 days before I manage to replace injector? So hence why sooted and ashes up badly? Engine only done 65,000 and oil changed regular.
Hello, thanks for this video. Do you advise to replace the rear brakes pads with the handbrake up or down to avoid any issues? Thanks
Hi there. No problems.
Handbrake down please.
Good luck 👍
Hello! Very good video! Helped a lot! I have a question, what is the name of the program running on the PC? :) Thx!
Thank you 😀
Autodata 😉
Hi Alex .. great video. Just one question however, after replacing the rear disc pads as you have shown, the foot brakes worked fine but the handbrake was virtually useless pulled all the way up and ineffective compared to how it was before I replaced the disc pads. So have I done something wrong or does the handbrake now need adjustment. If so how is this done? From inside the car or from underneath the car? Looking forward to your reply. Regards.
Hello there.
Once you pumped foot brake about 10 times then you need to hold it down and pull handbrake in the same time few times. then release the foot brake and pull just the handbrake few times and see how it feels. if not then it might need adjustment or checking if nothing is seized up.
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Thanks Alex .. I will give it a go tomorrow morning and let you know how it goes. Thanks again and cheers.
No problems. Let me know please and good luck
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Hi again Alex .... yes it did improve a little bit and so I then had to tighten the handbrake adjusting nut from inside the cabin just under the hand brake handle. Now as good as ever. Regards and thanks again.
Hello there. Well done. That's good. One thing I will say is make sure that the caliper returning to rest position when handbrake is off.
Don’t forget to put fresh air in the front tires (only).
Thanks
U are welcome 🙏 🤗
