One addendum. I have a Ryzen 3200G with Vega 8 graphics. This uses 2Gb of my DDR4 system memory leaving 14Gb for everything else.
Almost exactly the same performance as my old 750 ti 2Gb GDDR5 system.

r9 fury uses hbm and the vega uses hbm2. so it is in gaming cards though. but yes hbm is more suited towards workstation gpus

Depends on the game, but usually a mix. Even in Rdr2 where I get 40-45fps on optimal settings (best looks for the best performance) even though I could be getting 60+ on low, but that would look bad to a point that I couldn’t enjoy playing the game anymore

It all depends on the game, but 6gb should be the minimum unless you’re only playing one game and are 100% sure you’re never gonna play anything that needs more VRAM than you have
