Edit February-9th-2024: I never did get to build my pc yet and I probably won't be able to for a while. But funnily enough I work with RAM on planes now and I fully understand it. I'm gonna start to work on getting my bachelor's in electrical engineering within the next year

Jay two cents made a good video about single channel vs dual channel. And dual channel is quite noticeablely better in gaming. Two 8gb sticks using dual channel out preformed one 16gb stick both having the same speed.

something good to know is cass latency aka CL. TLDR lower the better so an example will be CL-14 CL-16 CL-18. The bigger number is usually slower but sometimes cheaper (not ALL the time) and the lower numbers are usually faster but more expensive. If anything you want to see CL-14/16 because those are the configurations best for gaming and in general
single channel and dual channel is like running SSDs in raid 0 because if you have 2 SSDS or more you can combine their controllers (chips) to make the SSD faster and the same goes for ram because if you have 2 or 4 or 8 individual sticks of ram the computer will run it in a some sort of RAID layout which will increase it's total bandwidth. Lets say 1 stick of ram gets 20GB bandwidth. If you get 2 sticks you would get double which would be 40GB bandwidth.

RAM - Your inventory
Say if your transferring items from one place to a another right?
If the (player) moves slow, it’ll take while to finish the job but, if the (player) moves fast, it’ll get the job done quicker.
The (player) puts items into his (inventory) from the (chest) right? If there’s barely space in the (inventory), it will hinder your performance. Opposite way around if your trying to items into your (chest) it can be cramped.
You would have a perfect unison with a good cpu, and a good amount of RAM and SSD/HD.

Most applications are optimized to utilize a cap of 4gb of Ram considering 4-8gb computers are standard. We need software developers AND computer companies to start allow us to control how our Ram is being used for specific tasks and applications 😅

You can, been able to for a while now, for windows it isn't as clear cut, its done by setting priorities though task manager. but Linux its done though commands.
You might have to edit the program themselves, like Minecraft.

This Video is really great. It explaines a lot very easy while its pretty honest. However there is one great flaw. And this is the relation between frequencies and timings.
A question ahead. So what CL should a RAM have by 3600 MHZ ?
Lower cl needs higher mhz for higher quality, mhz doesn't make much of a difference compared to your latency which should be as low as possible then your mhz matching what your motherboard needs, higher being better
@@Supertoddy96 Thanks, I also heard vice versa. So it's a little more important to have a higher frequency than latency. But this may just be the case for high performance games or productivity tasks and in consideration of overclocking.
@@Thiloyeah ryzen typically needs higher frequency, latency means how many clock cycles it can do per second, frequency is more or less usually meaningless since it depends on your cpu/game youre playing but ryzen gen3 I believe is average/max at 3600 mhz
@@Thiloyeah games aren't usually a factor for ram compared to high demand video editing or processing stuff etc that most people will never benefit from since ram can at most ever add about 3 fps for any scenerio which means nothing and even less if youre over your monitors hz already

I use an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with 32GB (2x16) of 3200MHz DDR4 memory and it works perfectly fine.
16GB was very slow for me before I upgraded.

You can go to PCpartpicker and put in all the components of your build into their System Builder. It will then calculate what the estimated wattage will be.
You didn't tell about cl 19,16 udimm sodimm etc
And no 4GB is extremely low in 2022 and 8GB is not great too but I guess you could use that. But to be honest better save up to get a truly good PC rather than getting 5 crappy PCs a year because they keep breaking due to things like AIO leaks etc.

i have little issue about the volume or how much ram do we need, you said that if our work it all about social media and browsing you need from 6gb - 8gb why because from my experience how much ram depends on the os that its installed on the pc example if we have windows 7 you need 4gb and its perfect, if you have windows 10 and the latest version you need minimum 4gb dedicated for the os that mean you need to install another 2gb or 4gb to able browsing and it also depends on how much tabs you are opening if one or two tabs per browsing its enough to have 6gb if more minimum 8gb, like what i said in my information that how much ram we need.
