PLEASE UNDERSTAND...I receive hundreds of messages on all platforms (email, Facebook, Instagram, comments, etc) asking for advice, and help with projects. At this volume, I simply can't do one on one advice. - Jak na to + styl
Dude.... making the kids row for video games is BRILLIANT.
Hey! Thank you... and you are pretty awesome yourself.
Jeremy Fielding thanks man. Keep up the good work.
When Joe Arpaio was sheriff in one of Arizona's county's called Maricopa In one of the jails for minor crimes like DUI nothing really big In a day Room
Inmates had to get on a bicycle and ride it In order to watch TV
@@JeremyFieldingSr thanks for the vid! To get that "joy" of holding the DC Motor - you first had to buy a deep well socket set. I got the treadmill apart after I bought a used socket set and drill bit set ($60). Now to finally get the motor off - I need that deep well socket set. I suppose I could try finding just some old skool cresent wrenches.
@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 The good thing about that is that you only have the buy the tools once. Then you can use them to take hundreds of motors out of treadmills for free!
You are one awesome dude. Not a trace of arrogance in you, and you really try to encourage others to embark on their own projects. Hats off.
He really is like a modern day saint.
Raising healthy, intelligent,joyful children!
From all the things you made, the nicest thing is that you made your kids happy.
I made a clothes dryer with my treadmill. Basically all I did was take my still functional treadmill and place wet laundry on it to dry. Works perfectly. Not only does the laundry dry without using any electrical power but it also creates a barrier between me and the treadmill so that I never use it for its intended purpose. Because I never break a sweat this also reduces the amount of laundry I’m required to do. It’s a rather ingenious design if I do say so. Only flaw I can see is that my clothing appears to be shrinking... (btw, great video man, I love your stuff. you’re probably one of the coolest dads ever)
LOL LOL Brilliant. I can now see my next project. LOL
😂😂😂
That's the sixth use. Climbers and also be converted into clothes dryers. :-)
I can relate
LOL.!
About 15 years ago, the crazy ex-wife wanted a treadmill, so I went out bought a nice big & heavy expensive one. When I pulled around the back of the warehouse to load it on to my truck, the guy at the loading dock said to me, "That's going to be the most expensive clothes hanger you'll ever buy". And boy, was he right. I never seen her use it & clothes were always hanging on it.
Amazing! ...and the Dad of the Year Award goes to... Jeremy Fielding! Well done sir! 🏆
Thank you
By your picture look more like buddy christ.
@@jedidiahwilliamson6147 excuse me sir you're talking to a holly being
WHA.. WHAT! OMG I LOVE YOUR VIDS CHRIST
And......i have found Jesus Christ once again
I love that you are literally repurposing someone's trash and tuning it into your treasure. Very very cool
These should be on public TV! Tired of those crappy reality shows! You are a great Dad!
Jeremy you're on a whole other level with your talents and creativity. I'm just so glad that one day you decided to pick up a camera and share with us all.
Now this is what I call genuine content.
Why anyone would give this a thumbs down is beyond me. You sir are awesome.
I don't care how good something is on You Tube, someone won't like it.
I can think of lots of people who would dislike this video - Nintendo for making it harder to play games, Samsung for making TV harder to watch, local utilities for making it possible to watch TV without buying electricity from them, other electronics scavengers for giving away their secrets, mobility scooter companies for taking away future overweight customers, the list goes on :)
dont worry man its just folks in Australia .. its down under a thumbs down is a thumb up.. depending on how you look at it!
61 kids who's fathers came up with ideas based on this video. ;)
@@markbeiser Including this one! Make that 62
The combination of the rowing generator and your family playing together with it was the most beautiful thing I’ve seen all week! Thank you for all of your videos!
"It's not MY fault I'm tiny!!" Cuteness level over 9000!!
WHAT 9000?!?!?
OVER 9000!?! RAH!!!
The generator hooked up to the game console is brilliant.
Lol. I made my wife watch your videos! I wanted her to see that I was not the only person who does/enjoys this! When the "joy detected" icon popped up on a disassembly video I said, "See! Somebody else gets excited by free linear actuators!" She just rolled her eyes and walked off.
My father was the king of this sort of thing and I inherited it from him. I haven't been able to do much due to health in recent years. But for years our yard at Halloween was a scroungers paradise. Example. Old ceiling fans used to make ghosts circle under trees, Barbie jeep motors used to make flying crank ghosts, the mechanism from a shiatsu massager used to make moving eyes under a rubber mask, old laboratory vial agitators made spiders bounce up and down.
Thanks for the videos!
Great message 👍 Also, I wanted to wish you well with the medical / health issues. Please hang in there and you will have better days ahead. I promise!!! If you ever want to speak with a random person who has a similar story then just reply with "contact me" and we'll take it from there. Take care young man.
LOL...
I think the key is that his area is nice and neat. My wife hates this stuff, but mainly because my area is an organized mess...
Joe Steinwinder awesome 👍
I've trash picked most of my life... started as a kid. Luckily my dad called the trash resources for free. Mom called it garbage picking. Now I call it curbside shopping.
Sounds kimd of messy to be honest. Im on your wifes side with this one. Maybe if it was practical stuff and not just random junk...
I would never get bored having a neighbour like Jeremy, .
Ingenious idea combining an exercise program, some family time, and limiting the amount of time your kids spend playing video games.
You are one smart, creative, dude! Love your stuff -- Someone once said that garbage is only resources we are too dumb to know how to use -- I believe you demonstrate the proof of that!
One mans trash is another mans treasure.
Ha ha ha. Now if you can figure out a way to power the TV with homework. You’d probably win some kind a award.
Best part was you playing with the kids.👍👍
This guys a genius. Damn dude. Now this is worthy youtube content.
I discovered your videos on electric motors for beginners a few days ago. I’ve watched several more since then including the one where you, uncomfortably, answered viewer questions about you personally.
I’m so impressed with your teaching skills, subject matter expertise, and the fact that you are a totally self-made person.
But what continues to impress me the most is how unselfish, humble, and generous you are. It really hit home with this video. Show me a person with great kids and I’ll show you a great person. You have great kids.
They look like the smartest kids in school. There is a lot of satisfaction in repurposing thrown away items. The trouble is in knowing what to keep and what to throw away.
That is definitely a challenge. In general If I can't think of at least 2 things I might do with a part in the next 6 months I throw it away. Not "ever do with a part"... I have to set a time limit as well. I can usually find another, but I have to limit my "inventory" or I will run out of space fast!
You are absolutely amazing. I'm 68 and when I grow up, I want to be you.
Jeremy, you are one of my favorite video producers. I enjoy just watching them but I must admit that you make learning fun ! ! ! Thank you for the things that you do. Your explanations are clear and simple - the signs of an EXCELLENT teacher - was there for 39 years. Best of luck to you and yours.
99 lazy people giving thumbs down.,I'm lazy myself but I appreciate genius.... well done Jeremy.tenga su like..
Your family is adorable
yeah, that ending made me smile
You look like a great dad, very inspirational! Your kids are blessed!
that thing with the kids was...parenting gone...extremely GOOD!!!
Well played my man!
Following a second head injury, I struggle with the things that I used to do. Some self-designed rehab had me helping in a cabinet shop. The owner told me to replace the bearings on a dust collector. I had no clue how to do so, but that was my entrance into the mechanical side of life. Most of his machinery is aging and needs TLC. Between using, fixing, and maintaining his equipment, my dream shop has ballooned in size and scope. As I looked at the price of the machinery and compared it to the knowledge I've gained, I'm astounded at what seems like a huge inflation of cost to produce to the sticker price.
I've wanted to build a sander with my old treadmill, but my concept is to use it to feed the material while making a wide-belt sanding mechanism with a platten above. Belts are more expensive than wrapping a drum, but they are much less prone to snagging and tearing. In addition, switching grits is simple and quick. My question to you is, "How could you achieve oscillation without needing to resort to pneumatics and sensors?"
I came upon your channel while looking to learn about electric motors. Wonderful information, practical, and delivered in a manner that leaves the watcher without any fear of the subject matter. As a 15+ year teacher with multiple degrees in education, I would commend you on your teaching style. Using CZcams as your classroom is most probably a better venue than the public school classroom. You have complete control over your curriculuum, students who want to be there, and no administrator/political mandates to wrestle against. Keep your inquisitive drive and sharing nature. People like yourself are the path to righting the disdain for learning that has become entirely too commonplace. Best wishes going forward and thanks for helping me begin to learn again.
Tof McWilliams
I’ve been pondering myself on how to make one into a belt sander just as it is.. turns out you can actually find company’s on eBay who will custom cut a huge piece of athesive backed sandpaper the size of a treadmill for about 50$...
Exercise powered video games, brilliant!
Illuminati!
Your kids are so lucky to have a father like you 👍🏾
Dude.... the rowing machine game with your kids was awesome. Such an amazing idea!!!!!!!!!
I took a treadmill with a broken belt for free on Craigslist and turned it into a spinning pottery table.
Love the kids rowing for power.
1st video I've seen of yours, already a fan! Keep it up man, you're great!
You are the true essence of an Engineer. So many Engineers can build so long as they have the perfect parts. You my friend, make those parts. Imagineering. Way beyond me, but thank you. (Cute kids, btw.)
Like others have said, a rowing machine that powers the Wii is genius. You're an inspiration to all of us fathers, Jeremy. Thanks! :)
Love the way you incorporated your ideas with spending some quality time with the kids. Congratulations on being a great dad.👍
I have no idea why this video popped out on my feed but I glad it did! Great engineering and great dadding! Cheers!
Much Respect for the Make Something From Nothing attitude. I bet your kids have the koolest toys in the neighborhood made by Dad!
Your family is beautiful due to you and your beautiful wife for putting up with all the mess you gotta go through ,lol
Your diy vids are good but your kids are GREAT! you are a great dad ! I can see that in your kids and the joy you make with them.
Keep it up, dad !
Thank you! We did have fun making that video
You sir, are one of my favorite You tube DIY shows and a fantastic Recycling Engineer. 😁
Mate ......watching you and your kids is sooo cool. You're a good man.👍
This guy is a mechanical genius.
Reduce, recycle, dispose of your GARBAGE properly.
This guy is awesome 👍🌎
Good god my man!! What a hell of a recommendation this was! That lathe......... you got to be kidding me!! I myself like to re-purpose things, but you do so on a level I could only dream of! My hats off to you! (liked/subed/bell for sure)
Probably the most wholesome CZcamsr out here.
Many of us should recycle things like you do and keep our planet clean. Congratulations!!!
Would give this video two thumbs up if I could!
You are an inspiration to me. Thank you for your efforts.
Agreed, me too.
I’d be happy just to have a working treadmill. Jeremy finds them on the sides of roads.
I love the special effects on the tear-down.
9:20 -- Priceless quote
Thanks, Jeremy . . . I'm gonna be lurking neighborhoods on trash days now.
You sir are brilliant
Good job. You've got some great ideas, and it's good to get folks thinking. As a Canadian, I had a bit of a chuckle at you finding Robinson (square) screws odd. There are common here, and the best to drive with a drill. The heads don't slip
Jeremy, you are a man after my own heart. I'm always harvesting parts from old machines that others got rid of. Your kids are blessed to have you as their dad.
It looks like the most important thing you didn't through away, are those precious kids! You appear to n be a great father and a pretty smart guy.
Your videos are amazing. *You* are amazing. Thank you for making these
Hello Mr Fielding. Awesome how you get your Children involved.I will go back and watch your clock build. It's like the old saying " Wast not want not " I am looking forward to more videos.
All my best.
Bobby
Very creative, never let anyone tell you that you can't do something... It will just inspire a guy like you to prove them wrong. The hardest thing is deciding what you want to focus on what the benefits will be opposed to the detriments because every invention is like a double-edged sword. It can be used for good and bad you need to take that into account every time you create something.
By far one of the most impressive repurposed videos I've ever seen !!!
All I've ever made with a treadmill is a video riding a bicycle on in ( didn't fail ) .
I'm 53 and have been a carpenter my entire life . I can't do any of these projects due to my electronic ignorance .
You weren't bragging one bit and these achievements are nothing short of miraculous !!!
The people who gave you a thumb down are angry about your rowing video game set up . While your clocks are my favorite , this way of playing should be mandatory for children under 16 !!!!!
Amazing Father great job Jeremy
Awesome! Love the generator, get those kids movin!
the rowing machine to make power to play a game for the kids that's brilliant! give then a work out and game time.
DAD OF THE YEAR! And the kids loved it!
You are very resourceful When the world falls apart you are invited to my survival camp. Btw, loved your interaction with your children. You are a very special dad.
Absolutely brilliant. What a lovely family. Repurposed and old drill to make a sander but nothing as good or creative as you! Not yet.....
You are an inspiration.
I love the stuff you do. I hope your kids will follow in your footsteps.
I'm in the process of making a knife grinder from an old treadmill, but, you've opened my eyes to so much more. Thanks!
Why you don't have a zillion followers is beyond me. YOU ROCK!
Made my day. Especially the 7:40 minute mark. I love that part the most. I think my kid would say nnaaahhh I'm good.
You are the MAN! Super cool Mr. Fielding. Loved the video with the kids too.
Awesome work ! The bandsaw is a great idea and mine is probably getting a re-power . “ Not my fault I’m tiny” is just cute!
Those belts make good work bench top covers. Stuff doesn't slide around and you can usually get 2 covers from one belt. By the time it gets tattered enough to replace I have usually scored another to replace it with.
As a testament to the quality of your videos, You are one of only 4 that I have subscribed to on CZcams.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us tinkerers.
Awesome man! That Joy is why I love salvaging parts!
You got some crazy cool skills man ! I love your videos and wish you lived next door so I could get some help with motor stuff ! Keep the videos going ! I especially loved how you get the kids active by rowing ! They must think you're the greatest !
I made a high volume transfer pump from a dishwasher. Now I am thinking I can make one for portable Dc Hookups in remote areas.
This man, Jeremy, is an inspiration.
God bless you and your family
Hi Jeremy,
I wanted to let you and your fans know that I was inspired to check Craiglist where I found someone giving away their treadmill! I picked it up. I don't know what I will end up doing with it. I think one or more of the bearings that support the shafts for the belt is worn. It makes noises and the belt tends to slide off to the side. If it's an easy fix my wife will have a treadmill, and if not, then I have some motors to play with! :D
Thanks for the inspiration!
Don't forget to share the video! Thanks
I really appreciate you guys u are my hero
Jeremy, could you show us how to remove the bearings to keep them in a usable state please? You showed in the video that they could be reused. I have looked for videos, but you haven't made one, and I couldn't find others. There are videos of removing seized ones, is it the same process. I would love it if you could make a video showing the process and how you reuse them.
I personally need them for a wheel for my belt sander (that I made myself). I was inspired to make it watching you make all your projects. You gave me the confidence to try, and I was surprised how well it turned out.
Search for bearings on my channel I have done this to my bandsaw
Jeremy how would this work on converting and has powered boat into electric
by far the most consistantly useful of all the tubes is this tube here
I love the segment with the kids on the rowing machine. That's awesome!
you are a really cool guy
I'm always astonished at these things you find discarded on the roadside. I sometimes find a nice bit of timber or plastic piping in a dumpster but these wonderful salvageable electrical things? Rich pickin's there mate! More power to you Jez and thanks for another superb vid!
The treadmills I usually find listed for free online. I search Craig's List and Facebook Marketplace. Both have free items. It is usually a broken treadmill or someone just needs it hauled away and they can't move it. Sometimes it works perfectly fine and they just don't use it. I have picked up two treadmills from the road, and more than 10 from free listings.
Jeremy Fielding twelve treadmills - that's wonderful! You'll have a special vid to celebrate the 100th! Thanks again mate, I always really enjoy watching.
What an awesome guy! Those kids are going to grow up with a scientific sense of wonder!
Again! Excellent video and love the generator with the kids. What a great use of Dad time and togetherness. Thank You so much.
great video...love the kids rowing to play video games!
You can make a very effective (and maybe dangerous) wake up bed out of that thing and a timer.
Very effective when place next to an ice filled tub of water!
Those clocks are magnificent. Truly works of art and mechanical genius.
The rowing machine vs video game idea is pure gold!
"No user serviceable parts inside" is obviously not true.
😀
i really wanna pull my treadmill apart and use it for something far more useful .......but its currently a great coat rack with the promise it will make me slim one day
LOL
That's the best way to get the kids to exercise and still play video games that I've seen!
How has it taken me so long to find this guy. Brilliant
I made a clothes rail out of mine 🤣
my rowing machine just sits taking up floor space
I don't see this going as well as you think it will. 1 week later:
"You row!"
"No *you* row!"
" *YOU* row!!"
"DAAAAD *_insert kid's name_ * won't row!!"
Wow..just wow. One of the rare great CZcams finds..
The generator hooked up to the video game is a fun idea, and your kids are adorable. Fantastic video!
The rowing blew my mind... Jeremy you should market that man!
I finally found a treadmill. I am taking it apart this weekend. I have had it a few weeks but my food allergies kicked me to the curb. Now that the swelling is gone and the wounds are healed. Time to get to work.
Love this video this time I took screenshots. LOL 😆 🤣
Brilliant guy also great parenting skills
Super Clock. Treadmill heaven someplaces.
