    Chris, I've been watching your channel for years and I have no earthly idea why I never thought to check your store for your pushstick. Maybe it's because I'm to cheap and a BIG PENNY PINCHER (true statement). I made my own pushstick and it's pretty janky. I have ALWAYS loved the design of your pushstick. When you showed what your daughter did to yours, at that moment I said I'm definitely buying his. My granddaughter (who is 7) loves to paint and color and my grandson (who is 4) loves to color with crayons. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to have my granddaughter and grandson decorate those pushsticks when I receive them in the mail. I have things in my shop they have decorated for me and I'm looking forward to seeing how they decorate those pushsticks. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of y'all's life and for all the tips and tricks you share. You are an inspiration Sir! I will continue to pray God's guidance and blessings will cover you and your family daily and in everything you do.
    God bless Brother,
    Jacob Burkett

      Jacob. Thank you so much for this I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know that you were going to do a very similar thing with your grandkids as I did with my daughter. Decorating these pushsticks was a cool and fun process to her and she always looks at it and makes sure I have it if it’s specific spot every time she comes in here. Again, thank you for your support and I appreciate it very much.

    I gotta start making push sticks. Just got into woodworking and my tablesaw still scares the ever living crap out of me lol. Upgraded the stock push stick with a MicroJig doodad and love it. I went ahead and ordered the two spiral bits so I'll get them and also ordered your sander mount as I anticipate it will be of real value in cleaning up all those "fuzzies". Thanks for a good video and being so creative a maker!👍

    I actually intentionally cut some way down to make seriously thin rips. I have full size ones for 3/8, 1/4, 3/16, and 1/8in strips. I cut a lot of thin strips, and need them identical. I find the thin rip jigs leave you sometimes with a slight variance, so I do them with the fence. I've kept the same ones for years. I have probably 10 push sticks of a variety of sizes of rips, and with various shapes. I don't know, I just like specialized ones. It saves a ton of money, as well.
    I love the gap feature, and 100% will be working that into any future ones. Right now I flush trim router a new edge on them, when they need refreshed.

    This is something a woodworker should make themselves. A push stick is sacrificial and generally made from some scrap. I'd rather start with a wide push stick and make a new one after a few months than start with a super thin one to start. Cool as the design is.

    • @AGlimpseInside

      Yeah, you can do that with other models, but this one is designed to be trimmed 2 to 3 times to make it function like it was new without having to go through the process of reattaching anything but eventually yes, you could just slap another piece of wood on the bottom and a small tab at the back

    If you buy a plywood push stick for $12.00, you’re not a “maker” you’re a “buyer”. Oh and him telling people that this is to “support” him is odd. He’s not a charity, he’s a business. if you want people to support you, give them something of value in exchange. That’s how a business works.

    • @AGlimpseInside
      @AGlimpseInside  Před rokem

      I never claimed to be a charity. This is most definitely a small business through and through. Let me ask you this. You probably can cook for yourself which I hope so but every once in a while, you allow other people to do it for you don’t you. Restaurants, etc., it’s the same principle, so next time, please make valid arguments on this channel.

    • @Codeyellow
      @Codeyellow Před rokem

      @@AGlimpseInside cooking is another hobby of mine. Since it’s a hobby, like woodworking, doing thing myself brings me joy. With both cooking and woodworking, as your push stick says, it’s the act of making. With cooking, I understand that some restaurants can absolutely make things better and more efficiently than I can. Fried chicken is an item that costs more both in ingredients and time. I’ll gladly pay for good fried chicken since it saves me both money and time. I’m happy to support a business that provides me that value exchange. But that is a more complex item. A push stick is probably more analogous to something like making simple scrambled eggs. It’s so easy and cheap to make, there’s not really a scenario where I would opt to order it vs making it myself. A plywood push stick can be made in under 2 minutes for a fraction of the cost. But to be fair, this is not constructive for either of us. If you sell something that someone buys, sure. I do not think that you should respond to other comments that question the value or price of this by saying that the point of this is to support you. You support yourself by providing value to others.Whatever form that takes.
