Hey Chris,
Before my strokes I was a machinist for GE’s locomotive engine plant in Grove City Pa. The biggest enemy of any cutting tool is heat caused by friction. In metal working a liquid coolant is used. As well as a coating of some sort. ( coding type depends on application of the bit.) So the coating helps reduce the heat the bit absorbs.

Yeah man it’s the root of all evil for cutting edges. I did discuss this later in the video about the coding this we tested and we found a real good one again I’m not a machinist nor a chemist, so I’m not really exactly sure how it all works but I know the results are the best I’ve seen.

Does that suggest you are getting 3 bits for the price of $45 surely not. Just thought I would point this out incase some customers get confused with the description. In a router table, yes. But I wouldn’t use them in a handheld router. They really need great edge support, or to be mounted in a CNC.

Thanks for your channel. I am about to order my first cnc. I am researching bits. Is there an advantage of a compression bit vs a down/up cut bits? Thanks.
Compression bits have an upward cut at the tip and a downward cut throughout the rest of the length of the bit. It’s my favorite and go to. Due to the fact you get a clean cut on the top and the underside of your cutting surface. Typically with down cut bits the bottom of your work piece as you go through and carve into your CNC bed you get some pretty nasty tear out. The compression bit illuminates all that.
And when are you going to get more in?
They’re gonna start production. Monday should be a couple of weeks. Really excited the community had interest in these so quickly. At least now I am the manufacturer know this is something of interest. Thanks for checking in.

Chris, can you use them in a regular router?
You can, but you need to have a very steady edge guide on them. I really don’t recommend CNC router bit/and Mills for hand use though.

They can but it’s not recommended. You could use them with a very sturdy edge guide, but I wouldn’t risk it. They’re really primarily used for a CNC router
How does the coating compare to the Astra coating bits n bits uses?
It’s more durable throughout my testing process

Router table yes, I would not use them with a hand router, though

How do these compare to Bits & Bits Astra Coated?
Side-by-side my experience is much more durable and the edge stays sharper for 30 to 40% longer. All that being said everyone’s experience may differ, but this is the most confident in router bits I’ve used stay consistent with longevity.

Everything I offer is going to be a quarter inch shank for now
