Santa Monica really gave us a masterpiece. In the original trilogy, everything was all over the place; the references to greek mythology barely being accurate, Kratos' inmense plot armor (one does not simply leave the underworld without Hades' permission, well until God of War 3). Here, they really managed to follow Norse mythology the most they could and put the story they wanted to put in. Kratos went from a savage, he's still a savage but now is more stoic, into the best father in videogame history. He comforts Atreus by putting his hand on his shoulder, something he hesitated on doing in the previous game, at any chance he gets. He also pets the wolves like the good girls they are. Compared to Zeus, Odin is a bitch but he's still a menace. He's not strong but he is very smart and cunning. Persuades Atreus with the "same goal" argument because he knew Atreus is filled with questions since arriving to Johtunheim.
