You would assume that with all the diseases they carry, that alone would make people think twice before owning one. The first words out of the owners mouth after getting bit or attacked is " I wonder what happened " or " they never bit me before". I'm going to assume they forgot to read the part where it says, "When monkeys reach puberty, experts warn that they will become extremely aggressive and unpredictable" And yet with all those warnings coming from professionals, there they are making family videos with their children. What happened to your neighbors monkey? Did he/she have to get rid of it?

You mean because they are so much less violent and disgusting then humans? It's really ironic you say what you are, because you are part of a species (humans) , that rape and pillage their own, cause our own genocide, animals know better than to rape their own offspring but humans don't . These monkeys will defend their children and any other monkeys babies to the death. They will nurse and stay by and take care of their babies no matter what. I've watched countless garbage ass people neglect their children, choose drugs over them, hell I've seen people sell their children . Think about what you are even saying.
Because your blood has something in it called the rhesus factor. Google it. It is unpredictable proof that we absolutely are related, and that we have had a common ancestor . That is able to be proven.

Nancy Testani I agree with you. They are wild and it eventually comes out. I would not put up with all the biting, they stink so bad no matter how much you wash them & around puberty they tend to become aggressive. You can't keep them inside your home locked up in cages by themselves. They aren't meant to be kept in a solitary environment & much stronger than humans which makes them hard to control. I love big cats
but I would not even think about it. It's selfish to keep a wild animal from the way they were meant to live. People most of the time don't conform to the right diet either. Some monkeys have a very long life span, so who would be crazy enough to take that on besides a sanctuary or rescue. I wouldn't take on the responsibility of having a monkey get loose and hurt or even kill someone. There are Insurance Companies that won't insure people with a pet monkey either. Monkeys stink. Who in the world wants to diaper these things, clean feces out of their butt and their hair. This is for the entire time you own them. Oh no! They are nasty as a pet, period. Once they hit puberty, that's when they get aggressive and it's an awful responsibility. A couple had a grown one that became aggressive where he could no longer get him out of his cage. He stated Insurance Company he had which was State Farm would not insure his house/property. They told him even though he kept his monkey in a steel cage they were too dangerous for them to ìnsure. I would never carry such a liability.

Not everyone but you and most others. Some in other countries have kept monkeys as working pets for generations. They keep them in the climate they are accustomed to and feed them food they would naturally eat. I'm not talking about CZcamsrs but people that don't bother making video clips. The west has probably done more damage using these monkeys for experimentation for research. Even the CZcamsrs are using western services and mostly making money from people in the west that have enough free time to watch those videos. Of course we only want to look at the world through our eyes and force everyone else to do the same. The truth is that we're the damn problem and always have been.

Travis was suffering from all of the usual psychological problems of being kept in captivity … by himself, with no others or his kind. So he was already depressed and stressed. His owner decided to give him something to clean him down - Xanax.
Slight Problem: in _humans,_ Xanax an anti-anxiety sedative. But in chimps, Xanax is an hallucinogen. Instead of calming Travis, he was a stressed chimp on the equivalent of a bad acid trip.

This looks like a never ending debate. . . . like smoking tobacco vs non smokers.
But I am throwing in some ideas to ponder on:
Many owners of house pets, subjected to a psycological test, won't qualify to keep even dogs or cats. Nevermind apes or monkeys.
Then, some dogs, like working dogs or guard dogs, are just that -working dogs or guard dogs. Not pets to be cuddled up in an apartment.
Those monkeys kept to scale trees in order to pick coconuts. . . .to me. . . .are like working dogs. They seem to be well looked after.
A few, very few, owners can afford to keep monkeys and they do it well. I don't want to steal their joy and pleasure. Live, and let live.
There are elephants, water buffalo, parrots, tigers, snakes, crocodiles, turtles, aquarium fish, etc, etc, etc kept to do work, to amuse or to provide companionship. None domesticated,
but they are (debateable) becoming more and more part of the human environment. Now then, why only focus on monkey owners and keep mum about ALL cratures taken out of their natural and decining environments ?

Incorrect. Once they reach sexual maturity they can and will become aggressive. You will have to have a sturdy cage to keep it in. That is why sanctuaries are full. Also, they are not happy as babies in clothing & diapers and they are not supposed to walk on two legs. This is animal cruelty. They are not bipedal animals and it hurts their spine. Diapers displace their hips. Clothing keeps them from grooming which is a psychological necessity. You would be the one needing shots as monkeys carry the B virus and if scratched or bitten it is possible it will transmit to you.

And you know one of the sheep had to be lurking with the ever so intelligent tree rat comment.

We're sorry to hear that you didn't find the monkeys cute, but we hope you'll give our other videos a chance. Who knows, you might just find something else that catches your eye!

Monkeys make great pets! No animal is domesticated until it is. You Karen's are all crazy. I have 2 pet monkeys. And they re awesome.

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying having pet monkeys, but it's important to note that while some people may choose to keep monkeys as pets, it's not a good idea for most people. Monkeys require specialized care and can pose health and safety risks, both to themselves and their owners. So, before getting a pet monkey, it's important to do thorough research and consider whether it's a good fit for your lifestyle and living situation. In the meantime, feel free to check out some of our other videos!

@@animal_odyssey I agree with you 100% if someone isn't willing or able to put in the time and effort with them then they probably don't need a monkey. They aren't like dogs at all people. And though we share similar characteristics, they are not like human children either. They are their own animal so to speak.

Congratulations on being a 2 pet monkey successful care giver! Showing that its not as impossible as the Anti Pet Monkey Agenda wants to make everyone believe. And in the process turning outstanding monkey pet owner's, like you and many others. Into hated and despised criminals fugitives, running from the law.

I got a big kick out of @animalodyssey709 patronizing response to you. As if you could really use that advice.
