I've notice a warmer than usual phone as well. I also found out that if you have "require face ID" enabled for an app that is in your carplay list, it will not show up in carplay. 😥😥
I'm on ios18, 13 Pro Max here.
Noticed that my it only had a difference of 5% in battery life. The responsiveness i can tell is a little bit slower but anything is good and stable (except for thise known bugs)

Loving ios18 on my 15ProMax…although there is an issue with using my Bluetooth headphones.
I got iOS 18 on my iPhone 14 Pro and I noticed that I have a very faint apple logo burnt in on my screen. And the battery has gotten significantly worse since I updated

IOS 18 installed on my iPhone 12. The battery life works perfectly no complaints, but there is one complaint where I had with the volume where sometimes randomly it would just just switch over to the ear speaker instead of the main speaker even when I was not on a call.
iOS 18 has connectivity issues with WiFi dropping and rejoining and Bluetooth being slow and sometimes AirPods go out of sync with each other
Unlike many others, I have had a wonderfully smooth and not too warm iOS 18 experience. My battery life is *WAY* better
I’m having huge problems running iOS 18 Beta 1 on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and my iPad Pro 11” with extremely slow WiFi on all bands and no matter where I am and also battery life other than that it runs perfectly for me!
Apple has had a long history of not releasing or delaying features to markets outside the US, which has been my biggest frustration with them. EU is being used as an excuse this time but will be interesting to see if they delay it in other non-EU too
Running iOS 18 beta 1 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I’ve got some bugs with tinting icons where the icons disappear until you lock / unlock your iPhone, and some 3rd party apps notably Outlook, sometimes looses the top 3rd of the application. No major crashes so far, battery has been decent, for a first beta super impressed!

My 2020 SE had been running great on 17.5.1. My daughter wanted a smaller phone so I let her try out my SE. She loves it lol… so for now it looks like I’ve inherited her iPhone 11.

I also had battery drain on my 256gb iPad Pro M4 Wifi + Cellular model when i tested ios 18 dev beta 1 on it. It was so bad that I went back to ios 17.5.1. On ios 17.5.1 i got around 14 and a half hours of use, and on the ios 18 dev beta 1 i got about 9 hours under the same conditions.
My iPhone 15 Pro has after 17.6 beta 1 problems with 80 % stop at charging. It continued to 100 %.
So far iOS 17.6 beta 1 is performing surprisingly well. My only issues being minimal stuttering and Notification Center being a little bit quirky. Overall it’s a stable update at least for me

This biggest issue I’ve been having is when syncing by iPhone 15 pro with iTunes it take 4 times longer & some of the playlists & songs don’t sync onto the phone I’ve had to hard restart my phone numerous times & restart iTunes at the same time for it to do a full sync other than the usual battery life which is relatively normal on the first few betas I’ve had no problems. 🤞
ive seen somone do this on thair phone on the IOS 18 beta and it was soooo funny, they made all the controls to control the brightness 6:17
Even though I’m using the 15 pro max I still think that on videos it looks so sleek, like I’m looking at a new phone.
I’m loving iOS18 but just like ios17 betas it introduced the voice assistant bug when I connect car play. Screen shows voice assistant is listening and I have to activate Siri and say “cancel” to use any steering wheel controls every single time.

Super excited for locking and hiding apps! Will definitely feel much more comfortable getting certain apps now given my situation.
Also, does hiding the app also hide it in the App Store? Does it appear in the updates section, and does viewing the app page or seeing the app while browsing it show an Open button or does it somehow obfuscate the fact that you've downloaded it? Would I still need to hide the purchase in the account settings? That's my remaining questions.
Aaron, I finally upgraded to an iphone 15 from my SE2 as my provider had an offer of 35% off plus I got an 256GB for the price of 128GB as they want to clear to make room for the iphone 16 series. I plan to keep this phone for a very long time. Still trying to get use on certain features but I think I'll be just fine. Looking forward to hear public release news from you as you are the only one to hear for all my iphone needs. Great work.

Im on ios 18 beta on my 14 pro max and my phone gets really hot, my email crashes when scrolling to delete, it lags a little notifications for text messages dont always show up….hopefully monday’s beta will be better

ios 18 was installed on my old iphone 11 pro max. except battery drain and heating, everything else is better than android developer beta! understanding that its a beta, those problems are was less annoying than the ones on the stable ios 17 sub-versions!
2:36 you can still see hidden apps when you search for it on settings or when you go to iPhone storage they will show up

Has ios18 and the AirPods Pro beta fixed the issue of spoken audio drifting around instead of staying in a fixed stereo position? This issue has been around since the release of the AirPods Pro 2. If playing CZcams or podcast audio the spoken audio will drift around as if Spatial Audio is enabled but it isn’t. As soon as I play stereo music it centres again, go back to spoken audio and the audio starts to drift again.

Hi, just got a really bad bug on my iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 18 Beta. The phone started to heat up really bad and kept crashing until I factoy-reset it. It happened to my friend too running the same version on an iPhone 14 Pro.
Never install dev betas on daily use devices.

Can you handoff music from an iPhone to iPad or vice verser yet as I am sick of seeing different music from my iPhone to iPad when I want to continue my music from another Apple device with Apple Music.

i installed the iOS beta 18 on my iPhone 14 pro max and it ended up crashing all my apps , until it completely crashed and got stuck in a reboot loop . i've tried to fix it by troubleshooting , but that didn't seem to work . i ended up having to get a total new device sent to me as a replacement . however , i heard someone reverted back to an older iOS system ? how would i have done that if my phone wouldn't turn on at all ; it'd go from the apple logo to a black screen and then back to the apple logo .
Ill buy one when they add the number pad to keyboard

Hi, your content is always very in depth and I appreciate that a lot. I have two requests and that is, could you do a battery drain test on the new 11 inch iPad Pro and iPad Air, maybe also with the iPhone 15 Pro.
The second request has to do with all the keyboards, I have the M1 Pro 14 inch, and the keyboard gets a shine over time, not slowly like older Macbooks, but extremely fast. Here in the EU there is a law that says that if a product shows a defect/problem that is not made aware before hand and you could not have known you can get it fixed and if it cannot be fixed in a durable way you can get your purchase price back. As an example the iPhone 15 Pro gets fingerprints and this is addressed, so as a consumer you know what to expect and you can adjust knowing what will happen, however this is not the case for the shine on the keycaps. The wear on the keycaps does not fall in the "durable" way Apple showing to the outer world.
So, I went back to the store and want to get it fixed with durable keycaps, however it is not the Apple way and was send to a liaison and the issue is subverted. Apple will not acknowledge the issue . The request is can you make a small video addressing this issue, because sinds the release of the M1 MacBooks a lot more people are complaining about this and czcams.com/video/yDccCQEYWSQ/video.html has talked about it. The more people will make use of this law means that Apple has to adjust their ways.

It’s my first time going into the iOS 18 beta or for any iPhone beta on my only iPhone that I own I was so excited about a lot of the new features like the ability to lock my apps. I was so excited for that feature that I thought you know what I’ll give it a try and so I downloaded the iOS 18 beta and one of the other betas on the website by mistake the website confused me a lot but I managed to get the beta that I wanted and stuck with iOS 18 beta one and so far I’ve had little notification bug here and there, but I do have a problem with my iPhone heating up every now and then especially when I’m at school and I’m at a worksite while I’m listening to music with my headphones occasionally it gets really hot and so I just turn off the music and turn off the iPhone and then turn the phone back on and restart my music Again
I’m having serious issues on Mac OS sequoia. Keeps crashing pretty much every time I try to use it.

Control Center new Connectivity Bundle of Airplane mode, Cell service, Bluetooth, etc NEEDS to be customizable. I NEVER use Airdrop but FREQUENTLY use Bluetooth. I want to put Bluetooth on the bundle instead of airdrop.

My experience was pretty good considering it’s a beta, (had the new Siri activated as well which was quite cool). However, got hit with a crash followed by a boot loop today.

I’m running iOS 18 on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, as for saving images to the Photos app from Files, I’ve only been able to do it image by image by highlighting the descriptive tab at the top of the screen.
Yeah it's something that they hopefully will fix soon.
For me, poor battery life, i need to charge my 15 Pro Max at 6/7pm when I get up at 10am with 100% battery power.(normal use, no intensive)

It’s really unstable on iPad mini 6. Constant resprings and reboots. Mostly using CZcams. Runs perfectly on my M1 iPad Pro 12.9.

With 18 I don’t see any notifications on the screen when it’s locked.
I wish they would offer the option to lock apps using EITHER Face ID or passcode and not one or the other.

Example: text messages alert volume set high compared to phone ringer volume.

Yeah, 8 GB of RAM is the absolute minimum for small language models. The LLMs run on 128-256 GB of RAM. There is a lot of technical documentation on these numbers, but I don't see any of the tech reporters mentioning this

Adding URL to the entry without any URL in Passwords app is not possible in iPad OS 18 and MacOS 15 :/ I belive it is a bug, missing features are folders/tags, and OFC you cant safe some License keys and other stuff, otherwise, works awesome

I want that read text in the text message app if I I would like to be able to highlight a very long message from someone and have my phone read that message for have Siri more accurately pick which messages it’s going to read when I ask you to read the last three messages sent to me by someone.
I unchecked a lot of things in the new Photos application and it’s not as bad but it’s still pretty bad this just as bad as the App Store. I haven’t liked the App Store since its last major update.

I have problems with wireless CarPlay and it not come through car speakers
I experience the same sometimes; the sound then comes from the phone, while CarPlay is still displayed on the car’s screen. Restarting the phone usually works.

For Apple's AI you need RAM... just RAM. It needs at least 8GB, because LLM is expensive. Everything from A14 fine to run it. And yes, M1 is A14 (2 P cores more) with 11 TOPS NPU.

They typically are available everywhere. It’s just different this year due to different laws.
I bet it will take Apple approximately 7-8 months before iOS 18 runs anywhere near stable. Every new version they release is the same; it takes them a year to get it right, and by that time, the new version is released

So if the new iPhone 16 is heavily promoted with the new AI features exclusive in iOS 18 and some features even locked to iPhone 16 pro. then shouldn't those in the EU be able to buy the iPhone 16 pro cheaper since none of those features are given? I don’t know about anyone else, but my AirPods Pro 2. They don’t sound as loud as they did an iOS 17. I even forgot the device and repaired them still sounds the same, but I haven’t tried the beta yet for AirPods Pro. Anyone else having the same issue? The music just doesn’t sound as loud. I have to turn the volume up more to hear it better the music it’s much less louder than iOS 17 🤷♂️

There’s a new feature I’ve found: the font colour on the Lock Screen can be changed to a kind of ‘Pride’ colour scheme 🙂
