Adding HIGH FLOW Cats Made My Mustang EXTREMELY LOUDER!

These are I believe stainless works high flow cats since they came off my stainless works x-pipe I bought from a friend.
My check engine light has come on after about 3 days sensing low efficiency from the o2 sensors due to these high flow cats. Im either going to rig the o2 sensors so the code goes away but also a good tune helps the o2 sensors function properly which I will get soon!

For people asking about passing inspection all you need is sparkplug foulers they create a gap for the o2 sensors so it reads less of the air coming through your cats!

I currently have a muffler and resonator delete, and it just made my car a bit louder, but it still sounds kind of quiet while it's idling. But hearing those high flow cats may be able to fix that.
You may need to open up that mid pipe with 3” piping. But definitely the hi flows will make that flow louder and aggressive

Eibach Sportline lowering springs. The lowest ones you can get ✅. You’d need a tune to get the check engine light to turn off. The check engine light popped up after a week. I installed my boss 302 shortly after, got a tune and the light never came back on. It’s been months at this point.
Go with Kooks exhaust system when it comes time. Kooks has the Green cats. They are good for well over 500 horsepower. I've got a 2008 Mustang 4.6 with a Roush SC.
Just picked up Kooks 1-7/8ths headers. Will be installing very soon 😎
currently Im modding a ford focus, it isn't no mustang, but with the 1liter turbo, and a magnaflow exhaust and the cat is next! this thing really scoots at the moment

Gonna install 100 cell cat on my secondary but already have 200 cell on my downpipe but I know it's not gonna sound this
You can go cattless you have to get a tune to disable your O2 sensors

Get , some long tube headers , SS , move your hi-flow-cats , to the end of the LT’s , the car will breath a lot better , then get a tune , but , save some $$$$$ for that ticket

This setup sounded good. But The long tube headers will always win with a robust, strong smooth setup. You’re mentioning the ARH I just Installed in 2024..
It depends on your goals for the car. I probably wouldn’t get headers if your not looking to get the most full potential horsepower out of your car. The 5.0 engine will sound good with a variety of setups.
@@Tdurrgt Thanks man. And I was referring to the kooks long tubes set up you had. The high flow cats seem really nice and necessary to keep that muscle sound intact. I'm just hesitant committing to longtubes because I don't want to deal with a lot of rasp lol. That's why im asking which set up sounded better in your opinion and which had less rasp with more muscle

At first, i could sense the smell of emissions and it was bad but I think I just ended up getting used to it after a few months or it just stopped smelling like exhaust🤷🏽♂️. Sooner or later I may go catless depending on my build decision

I have a question. When you add high flow cats. And you get a tune from a local shop. Is it anyway you can pass emission. Or how do you guys do when inspection time comes?

How much they charge you to put in the high flows and resonator delete
$120 for the install of the High Flows. My resonators were previously cut off before this visit. Which was around the same price to cut the resonators off too along with my mufflers

You’ll likely have to plug in some good defoulers to that support no engine light/passing emmisions. There can be another way also.

Not even sure the brand. I’d believe any hi flo cats wouldn’t matter much to toss on if you find some. You may still get a check engine light as I did.

They’ll love you Bc it sounds too good. Honestly the inside is much quieter than I would have thought forsure. With seats in. No worries at all really. Just touch up the radio

Haven’t took it in yet. I think I’m going to probably find my way around the inspection. The check engine light came on after a few days. But then I got a tune from Lund Bc I installed a Boss 302 mani and it turned off. When April hits for inspection, I’ll try refer back to these comments for result ✅

Do you have any petrol smell after you got them?
Yea it definitely smelled like you just cut the cats off lol. However, after a few months of normal driving, it goes away. But like if I don’t drive the car for a period of time, then one day I decide to start it and hit the gas, the smell comes back for that instance. It’s not even bad at all though.
