- Today, we are definitely making some noise as we chop off the mufflers on my 2014 mustang gt, straight piping it! Im not sure how well this setup will last but I'm hoping to dial the exhaust in some more with a smoother tone. I plan to install aftermarket headers with hi flow cats in order to suppress this obnoxious exhaust lol. I just wanted to make it louder and feel that American Muscle while driving currently.
However, hope you guys enjoyed todays pretty dope vlog as we achieved various things today. Side note, my audio in camera got corrupted after chopping off my exhaust and I didn't know. So some things I improvised to continue the video smoothly and reshooting the new exhaust sound clips. (If you didn't notice that, I did a good job then).

Aye man....good work here. I just bought my 1st Mustang last year. A race red v6 14 base S197. Its been a learning experience all year watching as my car went from bone stock to gradually saving money and dropping bread on mods. I dont think ill ever reach a turbo but one can dream.

i have this exact setup on my 2012 GT.. stock exhaust manifolds, no cats, no mufflers.. shit loud as hell
Yea it’s just about too loud. I’m definitely looking to tone it down with some hi flo cats like my previous setup.

One of my buddies got the corsa extremes and we had a exhaust battle. It was close. But gave his props. But for a hundred dollars. I sound just as good.

@Tdurrgt it grenaded 3rd gear at 2600 miles and I babied it 1500 miles and was running an organic clutch so just bad luck lol

Yea it’s stupid loud. 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear i shift at like 1500rpm bc any higher is extreme attention. It’s cool cruising on the highway not to be so annoying but the drone is loud inside too.
If you do do it, try the exhaust tone with the cats still on. So chop off the mufflers first, tell the guys to give it some revs and see how it sounds with cats on there first. Then, if you want even louder, then suit yourself and go all out!

Yea, the exhaust sounds louder with stock headers usually with what I experienced with my previous mustang. With aftermarket headers the exhaust note has more depth and sounds more robust, smooth.
It’s science, the more restricted the exhaust the louder typically.
Bro give me my car back. Me and you have the exact same year and color. Idk if you have the track pack also. But that’s mine. Close to FBO. Then I’ll get my car ready for E85. Bout to go to IFO this weekend and I’m running open headers just for the fun of it.
