- Tesla has been building their Tesla Cybertruck for the past 4 years. You can make a healthy meal in 4 minutes with HUEL: my.huel.com/jerryrigjanuary Building an electric vehicle is extremely difficult. I think the Cybertruck is an awesome machine with a lot of personality - but can the Cybertruck hold its own against my Home Made Electric Humvee? Today we find out.

Fairest most comprehensive gentlemanly scientific comparison I've ever seen!
Can't argue with science! 😉
Couldn't have said it better myself 😂
Eah. F cybertruck.
where do we live? What kind of cyperpunk is this? Do cars drive on the ground? The only cyberpunk car I want is one that can move by plane. (and also dont cut your fingers if you dont want)
Attempts at science and proper scientific method are not quite the same, but it was a fun if not funny attempt.

Casually brings a full size oven lol
I thought that was a dryer that they were planning to haul or something.
what? you mean you ont carry a 220v oven with you, everywehre you go? so 1990's lol
I totally didnt expect that to be a thing either. a good nice to have with electric outages though, 220v not oven lol
@@je2854 Now imagine a CyberTruck parked at a Super Charger having a tailgate sale selling food.
because why not?
I'm not sure that has wife approval. Unless it came from the barn.
“I farted in the humvee, which gives it character! So one point for the humvee”
I make out to my humvee which I can't do with cypertruck, so one point for the humvee.

The end was awesome. Obviously not having the ability to be lifted by a helicopter is a feature I can't live without 😂
I mean hey, if you _need_ your truck to be bulletproof, needing it to be easily airlifted doesn't seem like a stretch either! Really dropped the ball on that one.
I'm sure the EV Humvee would survive the drop /s
i was thinking about to buy the cybertruck...but without the lifitng ability by my helicopter it will make no sense.... 😆
Why need to be lifted by a helicopter when the cybertruck can swim and amphibious?!
time to create a mod so we can air lift the CT
This was definitely the most fair vehicle comparison I've ever seen Zach 😂
100% 😉
10 points at the end were like Checkmate lmao 🤣
😂😂
dude is awarding points like Dumbledore XD
I was waiting for some random reason for many points and the humvee winning the competition. You didn't disappoint 😂

Ohhhhh hahahahaha just got that now
Very fair and scientific pointing system... No one can argue on this subject
You could have tested the windshield glass, but we know that glass is glass and glass breaks. Also would be scratches at 6 with deeper grooves at 7.
Lately glass has been scratching at 7 with deeper grooves at 8

@@BeavisVolg Only for the S24 Ultra that I have seen so far. I'd say 6 and 7 is still the rule of thumb haha

How about gunfire 😂

@@WANDERER0070i would like to know how often you think your personal vehicle would be shot at on a daily basis
Not to mention the hummer also can approach much more more aggressive hills than the cyber truck can being it doesn’t have a low front bumper
😂
The Cybertruck may have 17 inches of clearance, but it's approach and departure angles are atrocious compared to the EV Hummer. I think that's 2 more points for the EV Hummer.
Next Jerry need to compare the H1 electric Hummer with the new GMC Hummer EV.. ;o)
The fact that he built a DIY car is automatically commendable, great job!

You need a Cybertruck tho :D
You can take anything off-roading if you try hard enough

Great video as usual, and the Hummer should have gotten another point for a removable seat.

Hilariously done Zach. I watched this one at 6:00am and actually laughed out loud. Which is no easy feat in the morning for me.
I love your scientific way of counting points !!
Thanks for that moment of fun.
Another point to add to the hummer is body repairs can be done faster and probably cheaper than body repairing the tesla (not to mention the arm and leg it would cost for those custom body pieces)
The Cybertruck has a unibody frame design, which will completely ruin the car if you get into a basic crash, e.g. hitting a wall with either front at 20 mph, it's cheaper to make it like that, but the drawback is that the entire unibody needs replacement after, combined with the lack of a locking differential, that is just a huge red flag, when it comes to taking it offroad.
@Gerbilsarefriends To be fair I have seen some pretty rough offroad vehicles 😂
@@Exodlus go look at the crash test of it, the back wheel comes off, because the unibody frame implodes.
I heard this is inaccurate. The unibody is designed to be able to cut away the damaged part and weld a new section on. They thought through everything when they designed it@Gerbilsarefriends
@@JonGZBOS no, look at the crash test, when the front hits the wall, the back wheel comes off, because the entire unibody crumbles to absorb the shock, there's no replacing individual parts there.
Thank you for the chuckle (and the info slipped in between!)
The most impressive to your car is actually how it looks. that looks like a lethal machine. my personal favorite car model design even if it's way older now.
"True beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" 100% agree
Would really love an update on the underground bunker

Very generous self awarding of points to the Hummer, but not everyone could have built an electric Humvee so kudos to you for that effort dude!
Oh Man!!! I got a great laugh when you busted out a full size oven! That is hilarious and great!
As always a great video!!! You should have made a drag race between them of course on your way 😂
Love Zach’s review style. So different and refreshing!!Effortlessly funny because his enjoyment shows. Too good!!

The scoring system is very reminiscent of top gear and the final category would be how much under budget or something else you were. I like it!
I am glad you got that top. I kept the camo canvas for mine.
Neat and cleanest comparison ever
Lol I love seeing your hummer series I just Chouldt stop laughing when you pulled out a freaking oven. 😂😂

Can't wait to hear the "scratches at level 6, with deeper grooves at level 7"
well, I would add one important part that was somehow overlooked.
if you need spare parts, you can just buy them. there is a good amount of supply, and most parts are really sturdy. tesla on the other hand has everything from tesla, and you are somewhat at their mercy if they can provide you with parts. so repairability is a plus for your hummer.
Never thought I'd say this about the looks of a Humvee, but compared to the Cybertruck it looks better
Very scientific testing here 💪
I can't wait till the exterior of the hummer is done now. I really like the roof and doors look
👏👏👏 Loved this video, Zack! Totally unbiased and scientific too! No, I genuinely had a lot of fun viewing it!
So when are you selling your line of Hummer EVs? 😄
that definitely wasnt biased at all 😂

Amazing review Jerry.. And congratulations for beating the Cybertruck.😚😚
*I had had a funny feeling that somehow you're gonna give the Humvee +10 points at the end, so when it happened I was extremely happy with myself 😂😂😂*
Top gear style point system. Love it.
Could you use a 12v DC aircon unit? I think some of them do heat as well as cool and it would give you some efficiency saving rather than resistive heat :)
yeah but it needs a whole 15Amps which will draw the battery so fast
It has a 1.5kw step down transformer that charges the 12 volt battery from the high voltage. He could hook up a 960w 12v 80amp ac unit with a relay to only work when the ignition is on. 100kwh high voltage pack would mean the ac would last for 4 days at full blast even if it never cycled off. There would even be 500watts extra to power the rest of the 12v systems.
Yay! You did my idea 💡🎉
Luved this comparison. You're genius.😊
Eagerly waiting for your Vision pro teardown / durability test 🙏
That includes two 20-amp, 120-volt outlets in the cabin; two 20-amp, 120-volt outlets in the cargo bed; and a 40-amp, 240-volt outlet in the cargo bed.
I wonder if you have an engineering background because your info about technical stuff is so good ❤😮
We absolutely needed more comparison videos like this
I watched all your build videos, and this comparison was nothing short of entertaining. thank you
We need a “DEEPER GROOVES AT LEVEL 7” cyber truck video
This "Comparison Video" was much more entertaining and fun than I was expecting!
That Smile at the end tells everything 😉
This might be the most scientific video I have seen comparing the Cybertruck. Good job. Also, did they Cybertruck tow the Hummer out or did it make it on its own?
I bet yours is better, before I even watch the full video 😆 I also love the diss towards Tesla calling out the incomplete Cybertruck lol
By far the most fair vehicle comparison I’ve ever seen 🙌🏻
I love the neutral and unbiased point system you developed for this video. well done :)
“It taste okay but it’s healthy. And I hope you like it too. It’s also nutritious. You gotta try it…” 😂
hahaha thanks for the smile and laughs :)
Before watching, I already knew for sure that in the end you would win, and after watching it in the end I was so happy I was right hahaha :D
Keep doing what you do, keep being you, never stop Zack
I love how each tire gets the same amount of points as going to a 48v low voltage system does. Awesome 😂
At the end, you should've changed the ten points to five points and then added in the fact your hummer is repair-friendly and then added in another five points.
And then remove the rest of the points from the Cybertruck because it's made from chemically weak stainless steel so its entire body will corrode in a couple of years and be a 100k piece of scrap.
that was a really enjoyable comparison with a nice piece of humor in it :D
Love your humvee much better looking by far. Need heat and create a welded steel or aluminum oblong compartment to bottom Sid of vehicle if have room.
I did (almost) the same battle two years ago between my Tesla and a classic Fiat 500 😂😂😂
I saw what you did here 7:00, Jerry.
From 13 to 23 in a sec. 😂😂😂.
Kickplates should be plastic. When you enter a car with studded shoes it's easy to scratch that stuff up. It's best if it's something like plastic where you don't need to worry about the paint.
Can't wait for you to truly test them off road it would be so interesting
Never thought I'd say this about the looks of a Humvee, but compared to the Cybertruck it looks better!
I hate to admit it, but Jerry's EV Hummer wins... fair and square...🤣
You're actually only pulling about 4 amps on the cable running from the 450V system to the 12V system (450v * 4a = 1800w), and that would remain the same even if you decided to use a 48v converter. Everything before the converter is still 450V, so you could easily get away with 16 gauge wire for that run. Coming out of the 12v converter is a different story though, and each 12v load will have 4x the amp draw vs. a 48v system. However, they'll also all be pretty low amperage loads, so until you have a heat or a/c system you probably wouldn't need more than 14 gauge for any individual run (14ga is good for at least 150w at 12v). You only need 2 gauge to connect the DC-DC converter to the 12v fusebox and 12v battery, so if the converter is kept close to those, it's of minimal concern. With a 48v system you could drop down from 2 gauge to 8 gauge for that one short run, then maybe from 14 gauge to 18 gauge for headlights, from 2 gauge to 8 gauge for AC/heat pump, etc. A DIYer going 48v for accessories might save a few pounds in copper and a few dozen bucks in cable, but would add massive incompatibility with the best and cheapest off the shelf components. But for Tesla, a few pounds of copper times a few million vehicles, when all the parts are already bespoke and trying to be as light as possible anyway, could be enough money to buy a block worth of buildings in Brooklyn.
I got a good chuckle at the end, thanks Zack.
Could say this comparison was Jerry rigged 😂
😂😂😂
+1000 pts for pure visual appeal to the HumEV and -1000 pts for for the Cyberpunk.
